My name is long and cumbersome for most folk in SL so I am generally called Eddy. Interestingly though I should in fact be called Fragment since I am a Fragment of Eddy(as you can see though I have moved with the times since explaining this to everyone I meet would become tiresome and now even call myself Eddy). Thus EddyFragment. The choice of Robonaught seemed appropriate since I was stepping into an unknown world in a suit made of pixels like a cybernetic space explorer. However I was named Eddy Fragment long before entering Second Life. -- Eddy  <small>(talk|contribs)</small> 19:12, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

About Eddy Fragment

I figured since I have opted to participate in the documentation of this wiki that I should write a lil something about myself and why I am here.

However.....I have to take my dog out pretty soon and need a cup of tea and a ciggy before I do anything (including having a cup of tea and a ciggy(and yes that is a constant loop)). I will though write a lil biog for anyone who cares to know something about me when I get some time.

Thanx for your interest -- Eddy 08:49, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Well lets see.... I grew up "normal" I suppose (whatever normal is), cutting worms in half and being amazed to have two and burning matchbox cars with flammable liquids and rags in order to emulate the scenes from the likes of "The Dukes of Hazard" and "The A Team". I was an "ugly" teenager (whatever ugly is). With ginger hair, freckles and the cheapest spectacles our family could afford. I wasn't cool or popular but found an early sense of peace through spending a great deal of time in my own company and never needing to be approved of by my peers (cause I didn't have any). I did end up a little bit socially inept though. I left school as soon as I could and went to work and was unfortunately made redundant a few times in a row which made me kinda bored. "Why bother" was my attitude at that time. I turned to alcohol and drugs and became the antichrist. People literally crossed the street to avoid me. But I was always honest and kind and decent. I ended up feeling so low and withdrawn that I sank into a state of almost total disassociation which developed into schizophrenia. That was a dark time and not the kind of thing one should be writing here (the same goes for the assault I suffered as a child at the hands of a pervert). So after some years of pure hell and a short stay in prison followed by a slightly longer stay in an asylum I was feeling a little better. I found a quiet place to sit and think and around 3-4 years later I peeled myself off the window sill I had sat on for almost all of that time (seriously) and with a new found understanding I went forth into the world afresh. In the time between going insane and reaching a state of reasonable calm I found Zen and it made sense. Around 3 years ago I finally shook off my attainment and reached nirvana. That was cool. If you were to label me with regard to religion or philosophy you would need to use a lot of words for the string would be something like "Socialist anarchist Taoist Nihilist Sociopathic Philanthropist with a dog" (lol).

I found SL because I lost contact with a friend while losing my mind and went to an internet cafe place to see if facebook or myspace might be useful. Up until this time (around 11 months ago) I had no idea about computers or the like but the guy who ran the cafe helped me find my friend. I was blown away by what I saw on the screen and how clever all the systems were. Links everywhere to see so many things. I started to understand how much could be done with work on the internet and saved to buy a PC. I got it and was learning HTML before I knew what a graphics card was. I had heard of SL from a program on the TV years before and thankfully remembered. I came to SL to (didn't quite know what to expect but thought it would be geeks and nerds talking about how big the hard drives were compared to their floppies) see if I could use what little I knew of HTML to make applications to sell. I then became a vampire and got partnered to a freak then another and then was betrayed by my minion and ...... "Hang on" I thought. I seem to have lost track of why I came here. So I went to a sandbox and got settled in to really trying to learn to build.

I sent this Notecard to the Governor some time ago --

Hi Gov; or should that be God?

I just wanted to say a personal TY for SL. It has honestly turned my life around from being pretty rubbish to being truly excelent. I am starting a business, I have friends and am learning LSL and building etc. Because of this I am leaning how to use other systems like QAvimator and GIMP.

SecondLife has made my first one worth living. And I am really loving every day of both.

Thank you for your vision and effort in making all this a reality. I hold you in high regard.

Have a great SecondLife Mr. Linden.

P.s. On a more personal note...... OMG! You need to bulk your profile up sooo much. lolz

I think that kinda sums it up. -- Eddy 00:40, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I just learned (in the last couple of days) that Governor Linden was not the right av to send it to so I sent it to Philip as I should have. As Strife has noted (lolz) I am rather forward. I am lucky to have no shame. -- Eddy (talk|contribs) 13:05, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

This will give a clue to the meaning of my name if you're keen.
