:As far as I know, these are temporary and currently implemented for tracking purposes, to measure the efficiency of links in certain spots. I think bit.ly offers stats per URL, like tr.im does.

Why a 3rd party short URL if you have your own short one?

Why are you linking to http://bit.ly/knowbase instead of http://secondlife.com/kb or just [[Knowledge Base]]?--Boroondas Gupte 15:56, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

As far as I know, these are temporary and currently implemented for tracking purposes, to measure the efficiency of links in certain spots. I think bit.ly offers stats per URL, like tr.im does.
