Introduction

WARNING: This is an archive of previous viewer versions released by Linden Labs. Mandatory viewer updates contain important security and crash fixes as well as new features that aren't supported by older viewers, and should be run whenever possible. Use an old version at your own risk.

Setting the channel version

Unless the viewer is still supported, to connect to the main grid you need to change the viewer's channel setting. For a guide to setting the viewer channel, see Get_source_and_compile#Channels_and_Versions.

(NOTE: Some versions are now too old to connect period)

Accessing different grids

If you want to access a different grid for testing purposes, you can do so two ways.

  1. Access grid selection from the login screen. On some versions, you need to type CTRL-SHIFT-G at the login screen. For others, you need to set the debug setting usedebugLogin to TRUE.
  2. Use the client parameters.
