Second Life is an International Community- it's a virtual world accessible by anyone with a computer that meets the minimum system requirements and has a relatively decent internet connection. As such, the ranges of languages spoken by Residents is quite large, and it can be difficult for a non-english speaker to find like-minded people to speak to.

If you would like to let everyone know what languages you speak (or at the very best, can type), please edit your User page- which can be found via the link at the top of the page that matches your name after you've logged in- and indicate this by using the Languages Spoken template.

If you have a problem in-world, and you require assistance from someone who speaks your language is listed here, you should be able receive assistance from them.

We have all observed a huge influx of international residents into second life. This has caused some issues that need some special attention. In the next few weeks I will be contacting in world groups who represent different areas of the world that would be willing to aid and assist the volunteers in several areas to communicate with these new residents. When completed I will post the entire groups list here for volunteer contact based on languages spoken etc. I have used this in the past with a lot of success from all parties.
