The word User, in computer technology, is a short-form name for the "user account," which is a cybernetic device for a human or machine to control a part of a computer system. The opposite is a "system account" where the computer system controls other aspects of its own system. In a virtual world, the User controls an Avatar. The User may provide information in order to verify Identity.
