Vocabulary questions
General
- How do we translate "program" in this context? I'd like to avoid "Programm" to avoid confusion with computer programs, program brochures, political programs and what not. I've used "Angebot" for now, but that doesn't quite cut it.--Boroondas Gupte 15:35, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- "Anfrage"/"Bestellung"/"Antrag" ... I've mixed those wildly because context of the different occurrences of "request" suggested different meanings. Though, because all refer to the same process, I guess only one of them carries the 'true' meaning. Can someone familiar with the custom name request process comment on this?--Boroondas Gupte 15:35, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
LL products and/or technologies
How to translate these when they aren't in the glossary? It would be nice if translations of those were consistent between different articles and with official website.--Boroondas Gupte 15:35, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- "capability"
- "Ressource" would probably be the translation of the common word "capability" that fits best for the technology of the same name. Though, "capabilities URL" would then become "Ressourcen-URL" which is redundant ("URL" being a "Unified Resource Locator").--Boroondas Gupte 15:35, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- "Vanitiy Name"
- "Ehren-Name"? strange if you have to request them yourself and if it has to reflect the requester's RL name
- "Eitelkeits-Name"? sounds negative
- leave untranslated? unfavorable, because "Vanity" isn't easily understood by someone who doesn't know English.--Boroondas Gupte 15:35, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
