[12:55] Soft Linden: It can mean an attempt to stomp data, or to send execution to a bogus location
[12:55] Soft Linden: Uuuuusually that means something stepped on memory on the stack. Not always, though.

[12:56] Aric Linden: and that caused badness to remain on the machine?
[12:56] Soft Linden: But again - something like 1% of SL is using this configuration. More than one person would be complaining if this were the norm for quicktime with Tiger on a G4/G5.

[12:57] Aric Linden: and recently updated SL on said machine
[12:57] Aric Linden: and haven't had a problem

[12:57] Aric Linden: But sometimes the apple updater doesn't finish updating properly. it leaves install turds floating around

[12:58] Aric Linden: I KNOW i just installed WL onto my Mac PB at work though

[12:58] Aric Linden: I'd put money on the update got stalled and left turds in the punchbowl
