- [15:03] Bridie Linden: Howdy folks!
- [15:03] Bridie Linden: Before we start today, some announcements...
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: Aric Linden won't be joining us today — pls. contain your sadness ;)
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: On a slightly more serious tip, I wanted to give you all an update on our viewer plans (if you subscribe to our SLDev list, you already know)
- [15:04] Bridie Linden: In a nutshell, we are going to extend the Release Candidate cycle for Second Life 1.20 Viewer.
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: As mentioned on the blog, we tried more frequent iterations in this Release Candidate viewer cycle in an attempt to find and fix as many viewer crashes as possible and increase overall viewer stability with other important fixes along the way.
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: The good news is that we have fixed a number of hot issues, and isolated and fixed several nasty crash bugs. We made good progress on fixing video card specific crashes, but haven't squashed them all.
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: We have been keeping a close watch on 1.20's crash statistics compared to the default download 1.19.1. (Note, for those worried about the crash reporter some times failing to send crash reports (VWR-7105), keep in mind that we catch whether or not the viewer crashed previously upon login, independent of the crash reporter sending details).
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: still with me?
- [15:05] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: Although the stability of 1.20 RC6 has improved over these last few weeks, it's still not as solid as we would like — so although we are excited to make Dazzle available as part of the default download (and yes, we know not everyone is thrilled with the new UI appearance), we want to take the next few weeks to continue iterating on 1.20 to look into the cause of crashes and lockups.
- [15:05] Jessica Kabumpo: o.O
- [15:05] Bridie Linden: Sooo...
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: Expect 1.20 RC7 next week and at least 2 more iterations before we call it a final release (some time in early June).
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: </announcements>
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: Any questions?
- [15:06] Squirrel Wood: good. ^^
- [15:06] Alexa Linden: +1
- [15:06] Squirrel Wood: gold sart!
- [15:06] Bridie Linden: Good that it's the end of my announcements? ;)
- [15:06] Elvis Marlowe: so in theory, we could still get some bugs in and get them fixed before teh official 1.20
- [15:06] Gellan Glenelg: Are people going to be forced to use Dazzle colour scheme? I've tried it on different monitors... and on some, it's terrible
- [15:07] Squirrel Wood: no. good thing you plan to do some more RCing :)
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: Yes, Elvis more bug fixes!
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: Thx Squirrel
- [15:07] Elvis Marlowe: umm... was I not supposed to be monkeying with all those XML files?
- [15:07] Gellan Glenelg: (I've reskinned anyway - but would hate to think it was mandatory
- [15:07] Garn Conover: Gellan have you been here? [1]
- [15:07] Bridie Linden: Thx Garn
- [15:08] Gellan Glenelg: yeah... more concerned about people who'd be scared by that :)
- [15:08] Squirrel Wood: dazzle works for me and looks good. those people with oooold CRT monitors and/or wrong configured color spaces and stuff... they need to shape up and adjust their monitors proper. :p
- [15:08] Torley Linden: hey hey hey!
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: Hey Torley!
- [15:08] Garn Conover: Torley!
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: Welcome!
- [15:08] Torley Linden: heya Bridie! everyone!
- [15:08] Torley Linden: thanks! =)
- [15:08] Bri Gufler: Hey Torley
- [15:08] Bridie Linden: I was just letting everyone know about extending the 1.20 RC cycle...
- [15:08] Cummere Mayo: hi troely
- [15:08] Jessica Kabumpo: I likes the new blue UI. Its shiny. @.@
- [15:08] XLR8RRICK Hudson: Greetings Torley
- [15:08] Elvis Marlowe: I like the new UI too
- [15:09] Torley Linden: cool i was reading your email
- [15:09] Torley Linden: :)
- [15:09] Garn Conover: retro is my fav
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: Benjamin Linden does host office hours...
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: for those who might want to talk more about Rx/UI issues
- [15:09] Bridie Linden: But on to our agenda! https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Wednesday_Agenda
- [15:10] Squirrel Wood: tosses friendly greetings at Torley :p
- [15:10] Torley Linden: :D
- [15:10] Garn Conover: hey torley- Alice made a purple versio na while back does that one still work?
- [15:10] Alexa Linden: :D
- [15:10] Bridie Linden: FIrst up...
- [15:10] Bridie Linden: VWR-6328[c
- [15:10] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6328
- [15:10] Bridie Linden: This is actually a feature request, but has many votes...
- [15:10] Alexa Linden: I agree with the request
- [15:10] Cummere Mayo: i argree with it too
- [15:11] Cummere Mayo: its anoying to have it disapear
- [15:11] Alexa Linden: yup
- [15:11] Garn Conover: if it says hidden there needs to be an easy way to disable/enable
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Let's import and assign to Rx
- [15:11] Bri Gufler: Same here. Thought I have gotten used to it - but still don't like it.
- [15:11] Gellan Glenelg: I think the idea was to "not confuse new residents", but it's confused a LOT of OLD residents!
- [15:11] Torley Linden: i thought there was a workaround for this by modifying settings.xml
- [15:11] Alexa Linden: yay!
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Maybe make James LInden a watcher
- [15:11] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:11] Gellan Glenelg: there is, torley
- [15:11] Torley Linden: oh i see Kitty's comment
- [15:11] Cummere Mayo: there is torely but its a real pita
- [15:11] Bridie Linden: Yes, Gellan, it even confused some Lindens who didn't know about the change
- [15:12] Bri Gufler: There are too many tutorials and other information that reference the menu. People have been asking lots of questions.
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: ok, next on the list
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: VWR-6862[c
- [15:12] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6862
- [15:13] Bridie Linden: I was wondering if this is different from VWR-6948?
- [15:13] Torley Linden: i wish the flexiprim slider in Graphics Preferences would actually work... it hasn't for ages
- [15:13] Torley Linden: those do look similar...
- [15:13] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6948
- [15:14] Bridie Linden: and then we also have https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6953 on the agenda
- [15:15] Bri Gufler: These all certainly seem to be of the same "flavor" of issue
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:15] Bridie Linden: 6948 is already imported
- [15:15] Torley Linden: screenshots in VWR-6948 also seem to show those odd "twists"
- [15:15] Cummere Mayo: sorry i didnt go through the agenda and tag all the related ones
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: let's link them up at least...
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: 6848 as main
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: Np Cummere
- [15:16] Torley Linden: yeah, at least link and ask in those other ones, ask the original reporters/comments if they're possibly dupes to compare
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: and then link 6862 and 6953 to it
- [15:16] Torley Linden: and "please resolve this as a dupe if it is"
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: Yes, thx
- [15:16] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:16] Bridie Linden: Alexa rox!
- [15:17] Alexa Linden: :P
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: VWR-6856[c
- [15:17] Torley Linden: w00t
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6856
- [15:17] Bridie Linden: looks @ Pastrami
- [15:17] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:17] Pastrami Linden: yep
- [15:17] Cummere Mayo: hmmm, if she rocks i never have gotten to dance with her yet. gotta fix that *giggleS*
- [15:17] Pastrami Linden: taking a look
- [15:17] Alexa Linden: winks
- [15:17] Torley Linden: this looks nasty but i suggest downgrading it to Major because turning antialiasing OFF *is* a workaround
- [15:17] Pastrami Linden: yeah
- [15:18] Pastrami Linden: you can also import and assign to me, Alexa- this looks like a case for Zen
- [15:18] Torley Linden: kewl beans
- [15:18] Bridie Linden: Xlnt
- [15:18] Alexa Linden: gotcha
- [15:18] Bridie Linden: Let's move on to 6772
- [15:18] Bridie Linden: VWR-6772[c
- [15:18] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6772
- [15:18] Jessica Kabumpo: I've seen that one.
- [15:19] Gellan Glenelg: me too
- [15:19] Torley Linden: this one sounds kinda familiar... i wonder if there's already a dupe for it...
- [15:19] Bri Gufler: me as well. I have seen that a number of time swith scupltie trees
- [15:19] Bridie Linden: Does it resolve itself ever? i.e. complete loading?
- [15:19] Gellan Glenelg: I wonder if it's related to distance from camera? further ones don't render fully?
- [15:19] Squirrel Wood: LoD issue methinks
- [15:19] Jessica Kabumpo: No it doesn't.
- [15:19] Alexa Linden: yes
- [15:19] Cummere Mayo: maybe, im wondering if its really a viewer issue though
- [15:19] Squirrel Wood: zoom out, then back in and they are fixed
- [15:19] Alexa Linden: they end up loaiding for me finally
- [15:20] Jessica Kabumpo: The only way I can get them to finish is by zoning out and then back in.
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: hmms
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: Did u find a dupe Torley?
- [15:20] Torley Linden: last i asked Qarl he was going to look at some other sculptie issues, i didn't find an exact dupe for this...
- [15:20] Squirrel Wood: I think this HAS been discussed at a monday triage not too long ago
- [15:20] Torley Linden: i suggest heading it to Qarl and Steve just to be sure
- [15:20] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:20] Bridie Linden: Yes please
- [15:20] Squirrel Wood: though I am not entirely sure
- [15:20] Gellan Glenelg: VWR-5785 looks similar
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: Squirrel, want to add your comments?
- [15:21] Torley Linden: Qarl and Steve last were having a discussion about other hot sculptie issues like VWR-5785
- [15:21] Torley Linden: yeah that's what i was thinking of, Gellan
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: Gold Sart to Gellan!
- [15:21] Torley Linden: good one :D
- [15:21] Gellan Glenelg: ty
- [15:21] Squirrel Wood: will comment if jira lets me login :p
- [15:21] Torley Linden: in all likelihood it's prolly a dupe of that
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:21] Bridie Linden: VWR-6381[c
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6381
- [15:22] Gellan Glenelg: I wasn't able to duplicate this
- [15:22] Torley Linden: i couldn't repro this either...
- [15:22] Jessica Kabumpo: That's never happened to me.
- [15:22] Alexa Linden: me neither
- [15:22] Bri Gufler: me either. No matter how fast I try.
- [15:22] Jessica Kabumpo: If anything, the first character after the / is repeated for me.
- [15:22] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: ha
- [15:22] Alexa Linden: I'll resolve as can't repro
- [15:22] Torley Linden: hmmm... *tries some more*
- [15:22] Bridie Linden: ha ha
- [15:23] Bridie Linden: wonders what OS
- [15:23] Elvis Marlowe: but it got 3 votes, so you would think more than one person was getting it
- [15:23] Torley Linden: actually, i am noticing this... i have to do it with the chat bar closed
- [15:23] Garn Conover: old keyboard?
- [15:23] Ellla McMahon: apologies ... scuplties dupe VWR-2976 ??? https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2976
- [15:23] Elvis Marlowe: I'll have to *shutter* dig out my old iBook G4 and try it
- [15:23] Jessica Kabumpo: I have had "/mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" when trying to do miko during a client freeze (6912)
- [15:23] Alexa Linden: suggest "open chat window first"?
- [15:23] Squirrel Wood: Ha. workaround: Use voice chat :p
- [15:24] Alexa Linden: :P
- [15:24] Torley Linden: Alexa, that may be too awkward for some people's usage style :|
- [15:24] Bridie Linden: worth linking to Ellla
- [15:24] Bri Gufler: hmm even without chat bat I can't repro right now
- [15:24] Gellan Glenelg: ahhh, yes, torley: close chat bar, and /1 opens chat bar, displays "/" only
- [15:24] Torley Linden: i can repro it with chat bar closed... on my Apple Keyboard on a Windows XP system
- [15:24] Squirrel Wood: If you have set enter to open/close the chat bar then you cannot repro this
- [15:24] Gellan Glenelg: question is: is "/" MEANT to open chat bar?
- [15:25] Torley Linden: i don't know for sure, Enter is
- [15:25] Alexa Linden: hitting any random letter doesn't open it
- [15:25] Squirrel Wood: [
- [15:25] Bri Gufler: Here is something weird... if I close chat bar I *do* see the problem if I try to do "/1" but I *dont* see if it I try "/me".
- [15:25] Torley Linden: yeah it's because some letters are used to move and do other things when chat bar is closed
- [15:26] Torley Linden: part of the longstanding usability problems with Second Life have to do with too many paths to a single thing; some argue that offers choice, but it also makes for many complications supporting various approaches
- [15:26] Gellan Glenelg: but typing / 1 slowly gives "/1" in text box
- [15:26] Alexa Linden: good point Torley
- [15:26] Elvis Marlowe: freaky... I see it too
- [15:26] Gellan Glenelg: quickly... it ignores anything you type while box is opening
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: Can someone add a simple repro to 6381?
- [15:27] Torley Linden: my experience with VWR-6381 isn't quite as bad as Feynt's ("stop typing for about two seconds"), but it is noticeable
- [15:27] Elvis Marlowe: close the chat bar, type /, then if the next thing isn't "me" it takes a while
- [15:27] Torley Linden: yes i'll add a repro :)
- [15:27] Squirrel Wood: 2
- [15:27] Squirrel Wood: 3
- [15:27] Bridie Linden: /
- [15:27] Squirrel Wood: can't repro here
- [15:27] Garn Conover: oops forgot to turn on flycam hehe
- [15:27] Bri Gufler: actually it seems that / followed by a letter works every time for me
- [15:27] Bri Gufler: but / followed by 1 drops the one if done quickly
- [15:28] Squirrel Wood: then again I have to press shift-7 to get / :p
- [15:28] Squirrel Wood: (german keyboard)
- [15:28] Bri Gufler: imagines everyone pouding randomly on their keyboards right now :)
- [15:28] Bri Gufler: *pounding
- [15:28] Alexa Linden: lol
- [15:28] Dieter Heslop: lol
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: grins
- [15:29] Cummere Mayo: I lose anything after the / if i type it
- [15:29] Torley Linden: ok repro added
- [15:29] Elvis Marlowe: and hitting <enter> / <somethign> doesn't seem to cause the problem
- [15:29] Cummere Mayo: on the rcat least. not on the 1.19.1 (running both atm)
- [15:29] Bridie Linden: so close the Local Chat floater and the local chat bar?
- [15:30] Bri Gufler: I left the local chat floater open but closed the chat bar
- [15:30] Torley Linden: i can do this with Local Chat floater open
- [15:30] Torley Linden: and local chat bar closed
- [15:30] Bri Gufler: Right thats exactly what I did too.
- [15:30] Light: on:
- [15:30] Light: on:
- [15:30] Light: off:
- [15:30] Light: off:
- [15:30] Torley Linden: it's a sliver of time, but nonetheless, it is noticeable
- [15:30] Bri Gufler: Im also on Apple Aluminum KB on Windows XP (Good Combo Torley).
- [15:30] Light: on:
- [15:30] Torley Linden: kewl beans Bri. :D
- [15:30] Light: off:
- [15:30] Light: on:
- [15:31] Garn Conover: Alexa :P
- [15:31] Torley Linden: i sure like that keyboard! so low-profile.
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: Please add your comments/repro and let's import and assign to triage
- [15:31] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:31] Bri Gufler: I got tired of having different keyboards on my mac and PC - I was always screwing up so I bough Aluminum keyboards for all my machines :)
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: Everyone can stop pounding on their keyboards now :)
- [15:31] Torley Linden: sweet, Bri. that's a great idea. i got this Apple Keyboard for my PC simply because it works really well.
- [15:31] Bridie Linden: What's the keyboard Don has with no letters?
- [15:31] Torley Linden: haha Bridie, that sounds like DAS KEYBOARD
- [15:32] Elvis Marlowe: lol
- [15:32] Torley Linden: Don is amazingly fast typer. o.O
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: that's it
- [15:32] Torley Linden: [2]
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: like a machine gun, Don is
- [15:32] Alexa Linden: a mad man O.o
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: isn't sure why she's talking like Yoda all of a sudden
- [15:32] Jessica Kabumpo: Das Keyboard II available on ThinkGeek
- [15:32] Torley Linden: hahahaha
- [15:32] Torley Linden: Bridie that cracks me up
- [15:32] Elvis Marlowe: you should randomly change his keyboard mapping to DVORAK or somethign
- [15:32] Torley Linden: OH PRANKALICIOUS
- [15:32] Bridie Linden: hee
- [15:32] Elvis Marlowe: rethinks... Don is actually hella nice
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: My fav prank is making the display upside down
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: VWR-6912[c
- [15:33] Bri Gufler: I def see this one on my mac
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6912
- [15:33] Jessica Kabumpo: Its not just limited to Mac Pro.
- [15:33] Elvis Marlowe: I think this is also the one I'm seeing too
- [15:33] Bridie Linden: Sounds like a dupe to me, no?
- [15:33] Jessica Kabumpo: And it also happens during core switching.
- [15:33] Bri Gufler: No. I see this on both my Mac Pro and Mabook Pros
- [15:33] Bri Gufler: *Macbook
- [15:34] Elvis Marlowe: I haven't seen it on my G4, but then again, I probably wouldn't notice
- [15:34] Bri Gufler: I end up only using SL on Windows because of it
- [15:34] Jessica Kabumpo: I'm on an iMac and I have this issue every time SL switches between C0 and C1, freezing the client for up to 10 seconds.
- [15:35] Jessica Kabumpo: Unfortunately, it sometimes kills the entire system.
- [15:35] Torley Linden: that sux :(
- [15:35] Elvis Marlowe: oh oh!
- [15:35] Elvis Marlowe: also
- [15:35] Bridie Linden: Here's the one we discussed last week: VWR-6897
- [15:35] Elvis Marlowe: I see it a lot more often when using spaces on the second screen
- [15:35] Cummere Mayo: does ti to windows too
- [15:35] Jessica Kabumpo: Like, my iMac stops responding to ssh and I have to hard power cycle.
- [15:35] Squirrel Wood: points Torley to video link in IM. Watch when you have time.
- [15:36] Torley Linden: thanks Squirrel, will put it on my readbag list :)
- [15:36] Squirrel Wood: shows an issue I have with rc6
- [15:36] Bri Gufler: Bridie - I am not sure this is the same as the 6897 issue.
- [15:36] Elvis Marlowe: ditto
- [15:37] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:37] Elvis Marlowe: they may be related, but they don't seem the same
- [15:37] Bri Gufler: They may be related but I haven't seen the 6897 issue on OS X but I definitely have seen this 6912 issue a number of times.
- [15:38] Jessica Kabumpo: I haven't seen anything with 6897 on mine.
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: was looking for another similar issue...
- [15:38] Jessica Kabumpo: The only time I have transfer issues with the hard drive is when my VM decides to rotate its logs.
- [15:38] Bri Gufler: Last week I wondered if 6897 was due to swapping from memory leakage?
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: Right
- [15:38] Bridie Linden: Alexa, did we see another issue that talked about 100% useage?
- [15:39] Alexa Linden: ya... trying to find
- [15:39] Bri Gufler: 6897 was also on RC4 - which I think was pre-memory leak fixes?
- [15:39] Alexa Linden: things moving slow for me
- [15:39] Cummere Mayo: weve had two or three come by
- [15:39] Elvis Marlowe: eek... the real world is pulling me away... thx for a good meeting, y'all...
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: I'll help Alexa look for the other issue later, but we'll keep this one on our radar or import...
- [15:39] Bridie Linden: Thx Elvis!
- [15:39] Bri Gufler: Take care Elvis
- [15:39] Cummere Mayo: tk elvis
- [15:40] Cummere Mayo: i think you should import it bridie
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:40] Bridie Linden: VWR-6026[c
- [15:40] Bri Gufler: I would vote for import on the mac issue too
- [15:40] Cummere Mayo: dup
- [15:40] Squirrel Wood: windlight...
- [15:40] Torley Linden: i swear Pastrami and i have seen that one before
- [15:40] Bri Gufler: it makes SL painful to use on OS X
- [15:40] Cummere Mayo: and its how its supposed to look on windlight
- [15:40] Alexa Linden: dup
- [15:40] Pastrami Linden: lol
- [15:40] Torley Linden: hahaha
- [15:40] Alexa Linden: and there's already a feature request to cover this
- [15:40] Alexa Linden: it's.....
- [15:40] Torley Linden: yup
- [15:40] Pastrami Linden: didn't we review this last week?
- [15:40] Torley Linden: yeah i'm pretty sure we looked at it before
- [15:40] Pastrami Linden: and before... and before
- [15:40] Pastrami Linden: :)
- [15:40] Alexa Linden: [3]
- [15:41] Torley Linden: and that it'll mostly be moot with server-side, Estate-settable WindLight atmospheric rendering glory FTW
- [15:41] Pastrami Linden: not to mention shadows, when we get to them
- [15:41] Torley Linden: MMMM
- [15:41] Torley Linden: SSAO mmmm
- [15:41] Torley Linden: too
- [15:41] Pastrami Linden: shhhhh, don't give it ALL away ;)
- [15:41] Torley Linden: ;)
- [15:41] Squirrel Wood: which I still hope will remain overridable client side for people with bad eyesight or different taste in lighting
- [15:42] Pastrami Linden: yes
- [15:42] Pastrami Linden: it will
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: Moving right along...
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: Next up
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: # VWR-6260[c
- [15:42] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6260
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: I think this is a dupe too...
- [15:43] Gellan Glenelg: this is still "strange"... if you have stats floater over the minimap, there seems no way to bring minimap to foregrouns w/o closing or moving stats
- [15:43] Jessica Kabumpo: Um .. .actually, click on the minimap.
- [15:43] Torley Linden: some windows aren't entirely consistent with our focus model
- [15:43] Gellan Glenelg: no. that's the bug - it doesn't bring it to foreground
- [15:43] Bridie Linden: give me one sec...
- [15:44] Bri Gufler: yeah I have seen that too. Its definitely inconsistent
- [15:44] Gellan Glenelg: if you close stats, reopen stats, THEN click on minimap, it *does* work
- [15:45] Squirrel Wood: stats is a pretty new and shiny window so it thinks it is better than all the other windows. give it some time up front and it will calm down and stay in the back more often ;)
- [15:45] Bridie Linden: well, please feel free to add your comments - i'll look for existing issue after this meeting
- [15:46] Squirrel Wood: Hellu Bambers!
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: But I suspect this ended up on the small ui pile...
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: Welcome Bambers!
- [15:46] Bambers Linden: Hi - sorry I'm so late
- [15:46] Bambers Linden: were trouble at mill
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: No gold sarts for you
- [15:46] Bambers Linden: ;)
- [15:46] Bambers Linden: dagn
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: some glod ones maybe
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: next up
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: VWR-6436[c
- [15:46] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6436
- [15:47] Squirrel Wood: cannot reproduce that one... works perfect for me
- [15:47] Bridie Linden: Me either...
- [15:47] Alexa Linden: same
- [15:47] Gellan Glenelg: me too
- [15:47] Jessica Kabumpo: I've not run into that issue.
- [15:47] Bri Gufler: yeah it works for me too. I didn't understand that one at first.
- [15:47] Squirrel Wood: and just for nvidia users while I still remember it... there is a new driver version out.
- [15:48] Bridie Linden: resolve 'can't repro'?
- [15:48] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:48] Torley Linden: hmmm VWR-6436 sounds like a much older bug that went away somehow
- [15:48] Jessica Kabumpo: yea
- [15:48] Torley Linden: can't repro :|
- [15:48] Bambers Linden: me neither
- [15:48] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:48] Bridie Linden: VWR-6484[c
- [15:48] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6484
- [15:48] Torley Linden: eeenteresting.
- [15:48] Torley Linden: this looks straightforward to repro.
- [15:48] Squirrel Wood: definitely the case
- [15:48] Gellan Glenelg: that's confused a number of people (i have a building platform at 3000m)
- [15:48] Torley Linden: ah good to know!
- [15:48] Jessica Kabumpo: Can't repro.
- [15:49] Torley Linden: i'm glad that we bumped up the max easy build height to 4096 m
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: laughs @ 'Has LL hired Escher as a programmer? '
- [15:49] XLR8RRICK Hudson: I have noticed that when draw is below 64
- [15:49] Bambers Linden: doesn't minimap only work to 300?
- [15:49] Torley Linden: haha, that darn Escher. him and Dali and Jacek Yerka and the dude who made Codex Seriphanius should get together and have ONE SURREAL PARTY!
- [15:49] Jessica Kabumpo: I've been over 1024m and had someone above me, still saw them as above me.
- [15:49] Alexa Linden: Eddie?
- [15:49] Bridie Linden: Let's import and ask QA to repro
- [15:50] Torley Linden: sounds goodalicious
- [15:50] Alexa Linden: ok
- [15:50] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:50] Bridie Linden: # VWR-6498[c
- [15:50] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6498
- [15:50] Torley Linden: i don't see an "X" (checkmark) either
- [15:51] Torley Linden: definitely Small but if a quick fix, then would be nice for consistency
- [15:51] Gellan Glenelg: yeah - that repros for me
- [15:51] Bri Gufler: yep - repro for me too
- [15:51] Bridie Linden: Import, assign to triage
- [15:51] Cummere Mayo: ditto
- [15:51] Torley Linden: thanks for the repro help Bri, Gellan, Cummere!
- [15:51] Bridie Linden: hopefully a quick fix but is Small priority
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: Next up...
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: # VWR-6501[c
- [15:52] Torley Linden: Hypatia's been a veteran user of this...
- [15:52] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6501
- [15:52] Squirrel Wood: Must be the force at work
- [15:52] Alexa Linden: Hypatia is awesome
- [15:52] Cummere Mayo: dont ahve that datapad so cant repo it
- [15:52] Bri Gufler: Actually I have seen this behavior.
- [15:53] Alexa Linden: me too
- [15:53] Torley Linden: i'm not seeing wild spinning right now...
- [15:53] Bri Gufler: It actually makes me NOT use the 3dconnexion for building.
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: Nor am i
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: You're seeing it Bri?
- [15:53] Torley Linden: haha who's on SpaceNavigator right now? fun stuff :)
- [15:53] Bridie Linden: Love it!
- [15:53] Bri Gufler: Im not seeing it at this exact moment but I have seen it before.
- [15:53] Cummere Mayo: im on the 1.191.1 and the 1.20
- [15:53] Squirrel Wood: does not navigate spaces :p
- [15:53] Bri Gufler: Im using one now but just in flycam.
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: Can we ask for a step-by-step repro?
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: Or Bri can you add if you're seeing it?
- [15:54] Bri Gufler: trying right now
- [15:54] Jessica Kabumpo: will wait for it to not be overpriced before she gets one
- [15:54] Bridie Linden: and it is linked to meta issue
- [15:55] Bridie Linden: there's an even more expensive one Jessica!
- [15:55] Bri Gufler: OK and right now its NOT doing it for me :(
- [15:55] Torley Linden: Jessica, what's your comfortable price point? :)
- [15:55] Bridie Linden: I remember a similar issue but had nothing to do w/Space Nav...
- [15:55] Jessica Kabumpo: $40-$50
- [15:56] Torley Linden: Jessica, I suggest using a service like [4] to monitor prices, and it *is* that price in US dollars at some places!
- [15:56] Bridie Linden: One more for today...
- [15:56] Bri Gufler: I thought it was like $50 for the personal version?
- [15:56] Bridie Linden: VWR-6579[c
- [15:56] Bri Gufler: I think I only paid $99 each for the standard edition versions
- [15:56] Pastrami Linden: hmm
- [15:56] Jessica Kabumpo: The PE is $60
- [15:56] Squirrel Wood: alpha sorting problem
- [15:56] Torley Linden: yes, Bri... at Amazon.com, US$52.24 right now
- [15:56] Squirrel Wood: old, old, old, anciently old bug
- [15:56] Bridie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6579
- [15:57] Pastrami Linden: this is unsolvable
- [15:57] Pastrami Linden: alpha sorting is a problem in all 3D systems
- [15:57] Bridie Linden: Pastrami to resolve/comment?
- [15:57] Pastrami Linden: sure
- [15:57] Bridie Linden: Ty!
- [15:57] Torley Linden: you know, for the whole "flickering texture" thing, we really should distill our graphics gurus' info on why it's not solvable and make it clear in the Knowledge Base. this keeps coming up and we should have better understanding communicated.
- [15:57] Torley Linden: thanks Pastrami
- [15:57] Jessica Kabumpo: workaround is to use "simple alpha" ... lessens the eye bleeding a tiny bit
- [15:57] Torley Linden: i have literally seen this asked over 50 times and that definitely qualifies as a FAQ :)
- [15:58] Bridie Linden: nods
- [15:58] Squirrel Wood: there. perfect repro
- [15:58] Bri Gufler: Yeah this could be resolved with education. Though Im sure people will keep asking anyways :0
- [15:58] Torley Linden: *makes a note to email Documentation Team to followup later*
- [15:58] Bridie Linden: Well, let's call it a day (or at least a meeting!)...my day's not done yet!
- [15:58] Bridie Linden: Thx all!
- [15:58] Torley Linden: yup Bri, Pastrami's previous posts have mentioned things to that effect and with ARC and beyond, we're raising education of how to optimize content
- [15:58] Bambers Linden: thanks Bridie
- [15:58] Bridie Linden: We appreciate your time and feedback!
