  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: heh
  • [15:07] Eddi Decosta: busy, what this word? :p
  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: we shipped out some maint-server fixes
  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: [1]
  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: a few little changes here and there
  • [15:07] is now: known as Homeless Resident.
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: nothing too major
  • [15:08] Draconis Neurocam: the script count constants are wonderful by the way
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: glad you like them
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: who did that work Maestro?
  • [15:08] Fine Caliber: the de-rezzing when looking away is a big thing
  • [15:08] Fine CaliberFine: Caliber applauds
  • [15:08] ac14 Hutson: yea great job on that :o
  • [15:08] Maestro Linden: oh let's see..
  • [15:08] Draconis Neurocam: and the new link limits, i remember Kelly talking about those, very useful
  • [15:09] Maestro Linden: kelly, simon, and I think andrew did work for maint-server
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: sadly SVC-6332 is fixed :-(
  • [15:09] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-6332:
  • [#SVC-6332] llLinkParticleSystem() causes: the avatar to emit particles until a relog
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: we had good fun griefing lindens with that one
  • [15:10] Vixus Snowpaw: >:3
  • [15:10] Gooden Uggla: :D
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden:  :-D
  • [15:10] Oskar LindenOskar: Linden doesn't think the other lindens like him too much
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: at least not the serious ones
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: falcon loves me though
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: right buddy?
  • [15:10] Jacky Scharf: Hello Falcon
  • [15:10] Falcon Linden: you know it
  • [15:10] Gooden Uggla: coulda been worse, coulda been the "baku couch"...
  • [15:10] RedMokum Bravin: and so do we. Poor you.
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: BlueSteel has some compressed region crossing code
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: actually BlueSteel and LeTigre are about the same
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: with a few differences
  • [15:11] Maestro Linden: yeah, the only difference is that BlueSteel has the compressed-crossing code as a bonus
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: we kinda doubled down
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: we'll be happy with whichever makes it
  • [15:12] Gooden Uggla: does that mean we have to find 2 blue steel sims to TP between to test?
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: you also might start seeing regions here running server code named after DRTSIM's
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: like DRTSIM-21
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: DRT is a Deploy Request Tracker
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: SIM means Simulator
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: so after Maestro gives his thumbs up on new server code it get packaged in a DRTSIM and deployed here for smoke testing
  • [15:13] Maestro Linden: gooden: although bluesteel supports compressed crossings, we won't actually be able to enable that feature until all sims support it. We're hoping to try that out next week..
  • [15:13] Gooden Uggla: gotcha
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: Magnum got updated to match the stable branch
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: that's a pretty good recap of our week
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: we're approaching our no change window on the 17th
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: so things are slowing down a tad
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: next Thursday will be my last day for a few weeks
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: I'm taking the last half of the month off
  • [15:14] Gooden Uggla: AAAAAWWWWWWW
  • [15:15] Jonathan Yap: Are you going to Aruba? :)
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: step 1, shop for new clothes
  • [15:15] Gooden Uggla:  :)_
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: step 2, drive to la casa de gooden to get fattened up
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: step 3. pester him
  • [15:15] Gooden Uggla: drive south on 5 till you hear mariachi bands out the window
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: step 4. relax
  • [15:15] Vixus Snowpaw: and shop for new clothes cause the ones at step 1 won't fit anymore
  • [15:15] Rex Cronon: didn't gooden become vegetarian?
  • [15:16] Oskar Linden: gooden? you went VEGGIE?
  • [15:16] Gooden Uggla: lol not even close
  • [15:16] Oskar Linden: didn't think so
  • [15:16] Oskar Linden: neither have I
  • [15:16] Oskar Linden: in fact I read a very nice study that found a link between pictures of meat and calming men down
  • [15:16] Oskar LindenOskar: Linden needs some nice big meaty pictures
  • [15:16] Vixus SnowpawVixus: Snowpaw bursts out laughing.
  • [15:16] Gooden Uggla: the teriyaki kabab soaking in thye fridge can testify
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: just thinking about that calms me down
  • [15:17] Oskar LindenOskar: Linden feels the need for steaks tonight
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: hmm
  • [15:17] Gooden Uggla: mmm
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: I'm off track :-p
  • [15:17] Jacky ScharfJacky: Scharf has a pig with toast. :-D
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: sorry
  • [15:17] Psi Merlin: Has anything changed witht the SimConsole - I'm getting "This region does not support the simulator console" now, could be I need to update the viewer code.
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: so you guys all heard about the group limits changes
  • [15:17] Maestro Linden: ah yes, there was a change to the simconsole API
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: they were publicly announced a few months back
  • [15:18] Gooden Uggla: yes please
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: the problem with group limits was mostly the limit being hard coded into the sim code
  • [15:18] Psi Merlin: OK, thanks Maestro.
  • [15:18] Gooden Uggla: when can we have 40 that you can actually chat on?
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: so we have gotten it pulled out into a settings file
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: first things first
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: the code supports changing that setting when we want to now
  • [15:19] Jonathan Yap: The new group chat is still some months away
  • [15:19] Maestro Linden: Hmm Psi, looks like the release notes missed that
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: and that code has been deployed to AGNI in BlueSteel and LeTigre
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: but with the limit still set to 25
  • [15:19] Maestro Linden: but it was included in the maint-server that we were talking about a few minutes ago
  • [15:19] Gooden Uggla: it's a start, and that's going to make people happy
  • [15:19] Fine Caliber: Yes.
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: at some later date when the code is completely on AGNI, and maybe after a live test with a special viewer we'll change it gridwide
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: I do not know when that will be yet
  • [15:19] RedMokum Bravin: 30,000 sims
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: so basically, we're at the same palce we were before
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: and you have to still wait
  • [15:20] Draconis Neurocam: so what happens if the limit is raised to 40 and it gets rolled back for whatever reason, to the people who are in 40 groups?
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: but we're closer
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: they stay in those groups
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: but if they want to be in a new group they would need to remove themselves from 16 groups to get to 24
  • [15:20] Draconis Neurocam: interesting
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: then add the new one
  • [15:21] Oskar Linden: kinda funky
  • [15:21] Oskar Linden: I know
  • [15:21] Oskar Linden: but yeah
  • [15:21] Gooden Uggla: just another way they can force people into V2
  • [15:21] Falcon Linden: You know it
  • [15:21] Falcon Linden: Everything we do is about forcing our users to do stuff they don't want to
  • [15:21] Falcon Linden:  :)
  • [15:21] Jonathan Yap: Gooden, it is an easy patch on older viewers
  • [15:21] RedMokum Bravin: Group choice should be in your web profile too, so you can untick groups instead of removing 16 of them.
  • [15:21] Oskar Linden: so if you notice any unusual weirdness relating to groups on BlueSteel or LeTigre please let me know
  • [15:21] Gooden Uggla: make it so i can build and host events and reun an estate, then i'll switch
  • [15:22] Gooden Uggla: jonathan, you're my hero
  • [15:22] Draconis Neurocam: v2 is great, though it seems like theres a memory leak in the development viewer, i get over 1 million k ram usage if im on it too long
  • [15:22] Maestro Linden: BlueSteel and LeTigre also have a fix for SVC-6556, which was a relatively high profile bug
  • [15:22] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-6556:
  • [#SVC-6556] Avatar and: the ship sails attached to the avatar do not rez beyond 80 meters
  • [15:22] Oskar Linden: anything else to cover regarding BlueSteel and LeTigre Maestro?
  • [15:23] Maestro Linden: nope.. with that bugfix, group limits, and compressed-crossing, we have it covered
  • [15:23] Oskar Linden: cool
  • [15:23] RedMokum Bravin: Maybe decent default settings for abandoned land could be introduced?
  • [15:23] Oskar Linden: maestro, you want to talk about rim encroachment?
  • [15:23] RedMokum Bravin: So people don't leave a sim behind which is not accessible to anyone.
  • [15:24] Oskar Linden: we can access them :-)
  • [15:24] Homeless: or: autoreturn set to 5 so their junk doesn't stay behind
  • [15:24] RedMokum Bravin: Yes that's fine Oskar....
  • [15:24] RedMokum Bravin: Yes!
  • [15:24] RedMokum Bravin: Indeed.
  • [15:24] Maestro Linden: oh sure, let's talk encroachment
  • [15:24] RedMokum Bravin: Since the junk cleaning squad seems to be there no longer.
  • [15:24] Maestro Linden: so Andrew's working on a new feature for parcel owners with bad neighbors
  • [15:24] Fine CaliberFine: Caliber aplaaaauds
  • [15:25] Vixus Snowpaw: Hi5!
  • [15:25] Fine Caliber: I don't even know what it is, but I like it
  • [15:25] RedMokum Bravin: Or just plain ignorant neighbours.
  • [15:25] Maestro Linden: if you own a parcel, and somebody else's junk is encroaching on it, you'll be able to return that object
  • [15:25] Vixus Snowpaw: Finally.
  • [15:25] Homeless: yay!!:
  • [15:25] ac14 Hutson: D:noo er i mean yea
  • [15:25] Fine Caliber: specifics please
  • [15:26] Gooden Uggla: thus begins the "mainland prim return wars"
  • [15:26] Fine Caliber: proximity specifics
  • [15:26] Fine CaliberFine: Caliber cracks her knuckles
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: heh
  • [15:26] Maestro Linden: yes, the new system will use the physics engine to determine if an object is 'colliding' with the parcel
  • [15:26] Gooden Uggla: very cool
  • [15:26] Vixus Snowpaw: oh that will be fun with sculpties then
  • [15:26] Fine Caliber: >:)
  • [15:26] Rex Cronon: "hey bro. your house is one milimeter over the line. i have to return it" will become quite common
  • [15:26] RedMokum Bravin: And that will work between sims?
  • [15:26] Maestro Linden: we're going to start off with it disabled, but let estate owners enable it via the sim console
  • [15:26] Falcon Linden: Ash: we hope so eventually, but not yet
  • [15:27] Fine Caliber: And with mainland? Enabled.
  • [15:27] Gooden Uggla: flat scdreens will replace trees...
  • [15:27] ac14 Hutson: hmm clever idea.
  • [15:27] Maestro Linden: disabled on mainland at first
  • [15:28] Fine Caliber: mm :F just a little more waiting then
  • [15:28] Gooden Uggla: still, it'll be good for those multi-sim-sized megaprims that "accidentally" get rerzzed
  • [15:28] Rex Cronon: isn't the mainland the place that mostly needs it?
  • [15:28] Gooden Uggla: mainland needs a firehose and a squeegee
  • [15:28] RedMokum Bravin: On islands it will only drive away the few renters that a landowner has left. :-p
  • [15:29] Maestro Linden: Rex: yeah, I'd think so. Eventually, we want to enable it on mainland
  • [15:29] Maestro Linden: anyway, the two region settings are 'allow_return_encroaching_object' and 'allow_return_encroaching_object'
  • [15:30] Maestro Linden: the first setting allows parcel owners to return 'regular' objects which encroach on their parcels
  • [15:30] Draconis Neurocam: is there a list of all the region console settings anywhere?
  • [15:30] Maestro Linden: er, sorry, mispaste
  • [15:30] Gooden Uggla: 2 settings maestro?
  • [15:30] Maestro Linden: the 2nd option is called 'allow_return_encroaching_estate_object p'
  • [15:30] Maestro Linden: minus p =P
  • [15:30] Vixus Snowpaw: for stuff that's from another sim?
  • [15:31] Maestro Linden: the _estate_object flag determines whether parcel owners can return objects owned by the region owner and estate managers
  • [15:31] Gooden Uggla: interesting, how many estate owners wilkl alloow that?
  • [15:31] Falcon Linden: Anyone object to my jumping in here? I've gotta run to another meeting very soon :)
  • [15:31] Gooden Uggla: will allow*
  • [15:31] Maestro Linden: cross-sim encroachment detection isn't functional yet, Vixus. But we hope to support that in the future..
  • [15:32] Gooden Uggla: see ya falcon
  • [15:32] Rex Cronon: tc falcon
  • [15:32] Falcon Linden: Oh, I think you misunderstood
  • [15:32] Fine Caliber: I think he wants to just say stuff
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: I think falcon wants to say something
  • [15:32] Rex Cronon: that is when u leave:)
  • [15:32] Falcon Linden: I meant: I'm going to start talking now, so everybody else be silent ;)
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: he said he had other stuff to do until 3:30
  • [15:32] Gooden Uggla: ok, go for it
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: now it's 3:30 and he wants the floor
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: buy maestro chocolates for interrupting and you're ok
  • [15:32] Falcon Linden: So I wanted to announce the we'll soon be deploying Havok 2010.2 on the mesh enabled regions
  • [15:32] Gooden Uggla: mmm chocolates...
  • [15:33] Falcon Linden: To head off your questions at the pass: no, there are no new features. No, there are no obvious differences you should expect.
  • [15:33] Oskar Linden: Falcon is breaking more of your toys is what he wants to say
  • [15:33] Falcon Linden: No, we don't want you to load, stress, or crash test it :)
  • [15:33] Rex Cronon: wouldn't havok 2010.2 make the toys run better?
  • [15:33] Gooden Uggla: so we just look at it and admire it?
  • [15:34] Falcon Linden: What we would like is, once we've got them up and running, for you to bring over your toys and file jiras about any that do not work on 2010.2 but DID work on mesh sims previously
  • [15:34] Falcon Linden: in other words: you should probably start bringing over items to get a reference point now. Slowly, because again, this isn't a load test :)
  • [15:34] Oskar Linden: I will be sending out a mail that says the same thing
  • [15:34] Rex Cronon: why only for meshes?
  • [15:34] Falcon Linden: it's not only for meshes, it's just that I did the upgrade in the mesh branch
  • [15:35] bigjr Slade: if there a chance for build in maingrid 2k11 easter eggs or SLB8 Birthdaycake with mesh ?
  • [15:35] Falcon Linden: and it will go to agni with mesh
  • [15:35] Oskar Linden: it's not only for meshes, it's on the mesh enabled sims
  • [15:35] Gooden Uggla: mesh viewer required to test?
  • [15:35] Falcon Linden: no
  • [15:35] Falcon Linden: you just need to connect to a mesh sandbox. Any viewer will work
  • [15:35] ac14 Hutson: Tryed a bunch of my stuff the other day, all of it worked fine. so ill be sure to do that
  • [15:35] Gooden Uggla: cool, motorcycle jumping !
  • [15:35] Oskar Linden:  :-D
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: we have a water sim too for boats
  • [15:36] Falcon Linden: I don't expect much if anything to have changed
  • [15:36] Gooden Uggla: you want to test region crossings too?
  • [15:36] Falcon Linden: no
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: hah
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: no?
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: X-D
  • [15:36] Falcon Linden: region crossings shouldn't be affected. Physics isn't really involved in region crossings
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: Falcon can't handle too many bugs
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: so don't file more than one a day
  • [15:37] Gooden Uggla: jumping sim lines in 5th gear is mindbending
  • [15:37] Oskar Linden: literally
  • [15:37] Gooden Uggla: you literally leap offworld
  • [15:37] Oskar Linden: I've seen God
  • [15:37] Gooden UgglaGooden: Uggla nods
  • [15:37] Falcon Linden: Also, remember that we've eliminated the 10cm gap for most objects already
  • [15:37] Vixus Snowpaw: I liked it when I could orbit myself to millions of meters and see myself dematerialize.
  • [15:37] Falcon Linden: so issues like "my train rides a few cm lower on its track" are not 2010.2 issues. Tough. :)
  • [15:38] Draconis Neurocam: really falcon? thats great
  • [15:38] Vixus Snowpaw: oh ?
  • [15:38] Oskar Linden: anything else Falcon?
  • [15:38] ac14 Hutson: i noticed that with vehicles when you drive over a prim edge or something the car kidna smoothly rises up to it instead of bumping it, is that intentional?
  • [15:38] Falcon Linden: nope. I've gotta run. Catch you all...sometime :)
  • [15:38] Oskar Linden: thanks Falcon
  • [15:39] Falcon Linden: NEED: I did fix a major issues around bumping at prim edges, yes
  • [15:39] Gooden Uggla: i can't wait to see amaretto horses made for precision stud service lol
  • [15:39] Rex Cronon: tc
  • [15:39] Gooden Uggla: see ya falcon
  • [15:39] ac14 Hutson: great, see ya falcon
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: he loves you all
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: he really does
  • [15:39] Fine Caliber: mm.
  • [15:40] Gooden Uggla: we can tell by how fast he leaves
  • [15:40] Gooden Uggla:  :)
  • [15:40] Oskar Linden: alrighty then
  • [15:40] Oskar Linden: maestro. did you have anything else to talk about?
  • [15:40] Oskar Linden: before you were so politely interrupted
  • [15:40] Maestro Linden: erm, there was one thing
  • [15:40] Gooden Uggla: he was working up to the bug fixes?
  • [15:41] Maestro Linden: regarding the simconsole being 'broken' in this server version, due to the API change,
  • [15:41] Maestro Linden: the 2.4.0 beta viewer supports the new simconsole API
  • [15:42] Maestro Linden: the "Second Life 2.4.0 (215891) Dec 2 2010 14:22:15 (Second Life Beta Viewer)" that I just got from the main viewer download page supports it
  • [15:42] Maestro Linden: that's about all I had to say though :)
  • [15:43] Oskar Linden: thanks Maestro :-)
  • [15:43] Fine Caliber: Any progress on estate ban bypassing?
  • [15:43] Vixus Snowpaw: GOOD question Fine Caliber
  • [15:43] Oskar Linden: did we talk about how we're going to enable compressed crossings?
  • [15:43] Fine Caliber: mhm
  • [15:43] Jonathan Yap: What about the proposed "Share The Pain" plan for server testing?
  • [15:43] Gooden Uggla: any progress on fixing notices sent to email?
  • [15:43] Rex Cronon: u zip us up and send across the borders:)
  • [15:44] Maestro Linden: Jonathan: that plan seemed pretty unpopular when we brought it up..
  • [15:44] Maestro Linden: heh yeah pretty much, Rex.
  • [15:44] bigjr Slade: sy if im ask have we MEsh sandbox at maingrid ..sy im german
  • [15:44] Maestro Linden: if all goes well this week, we'll try enabling compression on one of the RC channels, probably BlueSteel
  • [15:45] Maestro Linden: then whenever you leave a region with it enabled, your avatar will be compressed at crossing
  • [15:45] Maestro Linden: if you're crossing between sims located in different colos, there's a fairly big (~2x) improvement in crossing/TPing time
  • [15:45] Oskar Linden: not yet bigjr
  • [15:45] Fine Caliber: That's pretty great
  • [15:46] Maestro Linden: if you're crossing between two regions in the same colo, the performance gain is a lot more modest (more like 10%), but that case is already relatively smooth
  • [15:46] ac14 Hutson: hmm, will pepole with stupidly high prim and script count Av's acutally take longer due to having to be compressed first? just a concern
  • [15:47] Maestro Linden: People with a lot of scripts/prims attached are always slower, but they also see about the same 2x improvement
  • [15:47] Gooden Uggla: they got sim freezes down below 10 seconds, that was helpful
  • [15:47] Jacky ScharfJacky: Scharf (DE): Did you calculate the time to zip, transport and unzip against a current transport?
  • [15:47] ac14 Hutson: ah, well im hoping the sim wont slow down alot trying to compress them.
  • [15:48] Fine Caliber: is the compression in the data coming to you? or the data you're giving to the sim you're entering and exiting?
  • [15:48] Maestro Linden: Yes Jacky, that's how it was measured
  • [15:48] Oskar Linden: sim2sim
  • [15:48] Maestro Linden: the compressed data (or uncompressed data) is moving between the 2 sims when you cross or TP between them
  • [15:48] Fine Caliber: mm >_>
  • [15:48] Fine Caliber: oh okay
  • [15:49] Fine Caliber: so this benefit is for the people already in the region when someone comes in
  • [15:49] Fine Caliber: or exits
  • [15:49] Oskar Linden: yeah
  • [15:49] Fine Caliber: cool :3
  • [15:49] Oskar Linden: and those doing tp's or region crossings in general
  • [15:49] Fine Caliber: oh everyone :3 even better.
  • [15:49] Oskar Linden: what's the timeline on that maestro?
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: right before I leave for Christmas break? :-)
  • [15:50] Maestro Linden: if all goes well (no bugs pop up soon), we're planning to enable it on an RC channel next week
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: so are you going to run my OH in my absence Maestro?
  • [15:50] Maestro Linden: then we hit the no-change window
  • [15:50] Maestro Linden: hmm let's see, are you out next week, oskar?
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: I will be here next week
  • [15:51] Oskar Linden: it's the weeks after that
  • [15:51] Maestro Linden: I guess I'll technically be working on the 23rd..
  • [15:51] Oskar Linden: what would you guys prefer? meetings weekly over the holidays or vacation from OH?
  • [15:51] Maestro Linden: and the 30th..
  • [15:51] Jonathan Yap: Will there be much to report?
  • [15:51] Oskar Linden: next week could be the last OH for the year
  • [15:51] Maestro Linden: things will be super quiet though. I don't think we'll have much beta server stuff to discuss
  • [15:52] Oskar Linden: we could pick up again in January
  • [15:52] Oskar Linden: make next week a holiday party here
  • [15:52] Rex Cronon: we get to throw mesh snowballs at each other:)
  • [15:52] Oskar Linden:  :-)
  • [15:52] Fine Caliber: :D
  • [15:52] bigjr Slade: sy again have you a idea for release mesh at maingrid ? easter or SLB8 ? ior later ?
  • [15:52] Oskar Linden: not sure yet bigjr
  • [15:52] Oskar Linden: before 2015
  • [15:52] bigjr Slade:  :(
  • [15:53] Oskar Linden: anything else?
  • [15:53] ac14 Hutson: lol.
  • [15:53] Oskar Linden: we have a few minutes left
  • [15:53] Fine Caliber: I'm really enjoying the script count function now.
  • [15:53] Fine Caliber: Drac here made a hud for us to use...
  • [15:53] bigjr Slade: you are a optimist oskar with the 2k14...
  • [15:53] bigjr Slade: 2k15
  • [15:53] Fine Caliber: But will there be a possibility of implementing that within the viewer code?
  • [15:54] Fine Caliber: a right click count script maybe
  • [15:54] Oskar Linden: write one
  • [15:54] Oskar Linden:  :-)
  • [15:54] Fine CaliberFine: Caliber fidgets.
  • [15:54] ac14 Hutson: if your going to do the thign with the parcel enroachment a nice compliment could be something like https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-1017 but muting the "parcel" instead of individual objects, its something i suggested last year when i visited but idk if it ever got concidered
  • [15:54] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-1017|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-1017]]:
  • [15:55] Jacky ScharfJacky: Scharf (de): Is someone able now to tell me the prim count of mesh?
  • [15:55] Oskar Linden: nope
  • [15:55] Jacky Scharf: >.<
  • [15:55] Oskar Linden: it has not been decided
  • [15:55] Maestro Linden: That might be a good thing to bring up to the viewer guys, since it seems like a primarily viewer-side control
  • [15:56] Homeless: the: late Emerald had a nice derender feature
  • [15:56] ac14 Hutson: yea thats another thing, if i modify a 29 prim fully sculpted car it somehow registers as being like 38 prims X_x
  • [15:57] Oskar Linden: in the mesh sims?
  • [15:57] ac14 Hutson: yea, a car will work fine untill i remove or add a prim, then it is too many prims
  • [15:57] bigjr Slade: *g you acn see a great city at mesh sandbox.. 64x64m with 10 prim *gg
  • [15:57] ac14 Hutson: and i ahve to remove like 6 prims for it to go back down to 32
  • [15:57] bigjr Slade: 120 prims
  • [15:58] bigjr Slade: the 32 is the limit from physics
  • [15:58] Oskar Linden: maestro is typing something huge
  • [15:58] Maestro Linden: NEED: that's certainly tweakable. I'd recommend using a very simple 'physical' part to the vehicle (some boxes and cylinders), then set the fancy sculpt prims to physics type none. Then your car would just appear to be like 5 prims to the physics engin
  • [15:58] Maestro Linden: boo
  • [15:58] Maestro Linden: I got cut off
  • [15:59] Maestro Linden: (this 2.3 viewer truncates text a bit prematurely)
  • [15:59] ac14 Hutson: yea, any cars i build with mesh will have simplified custom physical shapes or None, but this is current sculpted vehicles
  • [15:59] Maestro Linden: I think you can change a sculpted prim to type none too?
  • [16:00] ac14 Hutson: so im guessing that the sculpties phsycial shape is being weighted alot more then normal
  • [16:00] Oskar Linden: it's almost 4 guys
  • [16:00] Jacky Scharf: Negative, 01:00AM. :P~[16:00
  • [16:00] ac14 Hutson: 30*
  • [16:00] bigjr Slade: 1:99 am to
  • [16:01] Homeless: 6pm:
  • [16:01] Vixus Snowpaw: 1:99?
  • [16:01] Vixus Snowpaw: :D
  • [16:01] Jacky Scharf: Nice time. :-D
  • [16:01] bigjr Slade: 1:00
  • [16:01] Vixus Snowpaw: The Netherlands has time for everything, anytime.
  • [16:01] Fine Caliber: Mm. Evening, gentlemen. Thanks for this :) have a good holiday break :)
  • [16:01] Jacky Scharf: 01:99 = 03:39?
  • [16:01] Maestro Linden: Yep I just confirmed with Falcon. You can set the physics shape of a sculpt prim to 'none'.
  • [16:01] Oskar Linden: that about does it for this OH then
  • [16:01] Oskar Linden: thanks for coming everyone!
  • [16:01] ac14 Hutson: i mean, myself i can do that and not worry about it, but if i sell something in mod and its sculpted they wont really know what to do. since hte sculpties are weighted so much
  • [16:01] Draconis Neurocam: thank you oskar and maestro, feel better oskar
  • [16:01] Psi Merlin: Thanks Oskar, Maestro.
  • [16:01] Oskar Linden: thanks!
  • [16:01] Vixus Snowpaw: yeah get well soon
  • [16:02] ac14 Hutson: see you later
  • [16:02] Maestro Linden: alright guys, thanks for coming!
  • [16:02] Jacky Scharf: And now Oskar: Go to bed and drink a cup of hooot tea. ;-)
  • [16:02] Rex Cronon: tc oskar, moestro, and everybody else
  • [16:02] Jacky Scharf: Thank you very much Oskar and Maestro.
  • [16:03] Oskar Linden: l8r)
