Spelling

Welcome to the wiki! Just a heads up, metre is the British spelling of meter and we generally accept British spellings. Don't worry about the edit, I didn't like metre either. -- Strife (talk|contribs) 12:38, 21 March 2014 (PDT)

How can it be spelt "meter" when it relates to the "metric" measuring system!! Hence metre! LOL (and yes, 'spelt' is the British version :) Omei Qunhua 16:13, 21 March 2014 (PDT)
Next you will be telling me how to pronounce schedule! So when you were a young nipper learning your English, did you attend (school) skool or shool? Pronouncing it skedule just makes more sense! However, as a colonial with dual citizenship, I can pick these fights and fall back on the time old tradition of blaming it all on the French. What is with all their silent letters? Regardless I am sure however we can agree on the insanity of choir. I wish we could do like the Spanish and have spelling reform and normalization. -- Strife (talk|contribs) 22:16, 22 March 2014 (PDT)
A good test for those learning English, is to try pronouncing these words: Though, Through, Rough, Cough, Bough, Hiccough, Thorough, Lough. Omei Qunhua 05:45, 23 March 2014 (PDT)
