[2017/05/25 15:00] Duckie Dickins: hmm ok
[2017/05/25 15:00] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): oh i see
[2017/05/25 15:00] Duckie Dickins: now I'm a floating head
[2017/05/25 15:00] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): let me check something
[2017/05/25 15:00] Duckie Dickins: lol
[2017/05/25 15:01] Jenna Felton: now i see a head and shoes and remember on the story about Alice and cat
[2017/05/25 15:01] Duckie Dickins: haha yeah
[2017/05/25 15:01] NOPE (margithe): i was going to attribute the avatars not showing at all (not even as a clud or sometimes as a nametag even) to my own lag, but apparently it happens to others too
[2017/05/25 15:01] Duckie Dickins: you can poke at the aditi later....i can endure the meeting like this
[2017/05/25 15:02] Duckie Dickins: I'll just try a prim avatar
[2017/05/25 15:02] Mazidox Linden: Hey everyone!
[2017/05/25 15:02] arton Rotaru: Gunaaaabend
[2017/05/25 15:02] Jenna Felton: :)
[2017/05/25 15:02] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): forgot to turn sound off, thanks for the reminder
[2017/05/25 15:02] Jenna Felton: hello arton
[2017/05/25 15:03] Mazidox Linden: This week we've got a bunch of things moving various places. First thing is we have a new DRTSIM. It's DRTSIM-349 and we're calling it "Revenge of Jigglypuff"
[2017/05/25 15:03] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): is that project meh or not?
[2017/05/25 15:03] NOPE (margithe): Meh squared?
[2017/05/25 15:03] Duckie Dickins: project meh point 1
[2017/05/25 15:04] NOPE (margithe): whats new with it?
[2017/05/25 15:04] Mazidox Linden: Previously, when you had a parcel that had Group Access ticked, and Public Access ticked, and none of Public Access' limiters ticked, you'd get into their weird state. Because it's public access you'd expect anyone could enter, but that wasn't the case.
[2017/05/25 15:04] Mazidox Linden: It is now.
[2017/05/25 15:04] arton Rotaru: finnaly found a bug with that at least :)
[2017/05/25 15:04] Mazidox Linden: It sounds like a small tweak, but it's a change to parcel access, so we decided to separate it from Jigglypuff, so that we can tell if it causes any new problems.
[2017/05/25 15:05]  rcdsQueChatLog: State changed.{click me to get the url}
[2017/05/25 15:05] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): in other words a regressive bug is finally fixed?
[2017/05/25 15:05] Rex Cronon: hello everybody
[2017/05/25 15:05] Mazidox Linden: DRTSIM-323 (The simulator OS upgrade) is on another RC now, and we're getting closer to a full release. Woo!
[2017/05/25 15:05] Jenna Felton: hello Rex :)
[2017/05/25 15:05] Mazidox Linden: Hi Rex
[2017/05/25 15:06] Theresa Tennyson: Did you need to do a restart/rollback today? I saw red regions this morning.
[2017/05/25 15:06] NOPE (margithe): That "bug" was always said to be working as intended, but it's really good to see you go
[2017/05/25 15:06] Jenna Felton: glad to hear that Mazidox :)
[2017/05/25 15:06] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): so whats this about shineys? because I have yet to hear anything to qualifies as a shiney
[2017/05/25 15:06] NOPE (margithe): i give it thumbs up.
[2017/05/25 15:06] Rex Cronon: hi jenna
[2017/05/25 15:06] Rex Cronon: hi mazidox
[2017/05/25 15:06] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): if it's a shiny to me, it's a shiny to you
[2017/05/25 15:07] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): nope
[2017/05/25 15:07] Mazidox Linden: We made some changes to backend services that fixed a very rare bug that could cause parts of your inventory to be wiped from existence. We only know of one such case actually happening for sure, but every little bit makes inventory more stable.
[2017/05/25 15:07] Duckie Dickins: OMG
[2017/05/25 15:07] Duckie Dickins: /me clutches inventory
[2017/05/25 15:07] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): so no actual shineys, huh, heh
[2017/05/25 15:07] NOPE (margithe): rare like gacha rare , 1% of the population ;)
[2017/05/25 15:08] Mazidox Linden: Rare like winning a planetary lottery rare.
[2017/05/25 15:08] Theresa Tennyson: No, nothing like bakes on mesh or animated mesh........................oh, wait...
[2017/05/25 15:08] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): or script function additions
[2017/05/25 15:08] NOPE (margithe): heh, Vir stealing all the thunder
[2017/05/25 15:08] Jenna Felton: if you got a reallly rare bug you feel less happy than if you got really rare gacha
[2017/05/25 15:09] Rex Cronon: maybe people don't even know they last part of their inentory:(
[2017/05/25 15:09] Mazidox Linden: We have DRTSIM 348 on Aditi now, which contains some tooling changes for Lindens and internal fixes.
[2017/05/25 15:09] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): boring
[2017/05/25 15:09] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): sorry
[2017/05/25 15:09] arton Rotaru: lol
[2017/05/25 15:09] Mazidox Linden: We also are testing a new version of DRTSIM-340, which is another set of internal fixes.
[2017/05/25 15:09] Mazidox Linden: Hey, you guys want to keep up with the latest right? This is it!
[2017/05/25 15:10] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): someone wake me up when we get real shineys
[2017/05/25 15:10] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): ouch
[2017/05/25 15:10] arton Rotaru: yeah we appreciate it! well, some of us at least
[2017/05/25 15:10] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): /me zzz...zzz...zzz...
[2017/05/25 15:10] Rex Cronon: i have a feeling u r going to be in a coma for a really long time lucy;)
[2017/05/25 15:10] arton Rotaru: lol
[2017/05/25 15:10] NOPE (margithe): /me twaps Lucia
[2017/05/25 15:10] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): sorry, I'm a little disappointed, lol
[2017/05/25 15:10] arton Rotaru: Lucy is just kidding
[2017/05/25 15:10] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): I hear "shiney" and got my hopes up
[2017/05/25 15:10] Mazidox Linden: Next week we're anticipating that DRTSIM-340 will go back to Agni for another round on RC, DRTSIM-323 will stay on RC for another week, DRTSIM-349 will probably (but again, nothing is ever for sure, this is all subject to change!) be the new Second Life Server next week.
[2017/05/25 15:10] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): only my fault
[2017/05/25 15:11] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): i just died in your arms tonight, y'know
[2017/05/25 15:11] NOPE (margithe): The internal fixes are... a little dull to test ;)
[2017/05/25 15:11] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): lol
[2017/05/25 15:11] Duckie Dickins: is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-100672 still being debated whether those properties should carry over to a scriptless drag-copy object?
[2017/05/25 15:11] Mazidox Linden: I need some help testing DRTSIM-348, anyone willing to help me early next week? Or we can just make it next week's pile-on test.
[2017/05/25 15:11] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): have there been any screams with the access update thing yet?
[2017/05/25 15:12] Mazidox Linden: I did import it Duckie as I recall, so we'll see if it merits changes on closer inspection.
[2017/05/25 15:12] Duckie Dickins: ok!
[2017/05/25 15:12] Mazidox Linden: I haven't heard any screams yet Lucia.
[2017/05/25 15:12] Theresa Tennyson: Will setting group only access automatically turn off public access now?
[2017/05/25 15:13] Mazidox Linden: (And, as always, no promises of when that inspection is. Importing just means someone wants to have it at hand)
[2017/05/25 15:13] arton Rotaru: 348 is changes to Lindens.... that is Linden dollars, or Linden employees?
[2017/05/25 15:13] Rex Cronon: mazidox. ifu have to test something i think that going to the beta test group on the main and asking 4 volunteers might be helpful:)
[2017/05/25 15:13] Mazidox Linden: No Theresa, but everyone will have access to the parcel if you do that.
[2017/05/25 15:13] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Rex, then a bunch of griffs would show up
[2017/05/25 15:14] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): because that group is at least 15% griffs, heh
[2017/05/25 15:14] Mazidox Linden: Heh heh.
[2017/05/25 15:14] Rex Cronon: that is not true lucy
[2017/05/25 15:14] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Rex, you're in denial, heh
[2017/05/25 15:14] Mazidox Linden: I'm sure I could use griffs too...
[2017/05/25 15:14] Mazidox Linden: Ahem
[2017/05/25 15:14] Mazidox Linden: Shiny alert.
[2017/05/25 15:14] Mazidox Linden: Shiny alert.
[2017/05/25 15:14] NOPE (margithe): actually the griffs should come and show what they got ;)
[2017/05/25 15:14] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): debatable
[2017/05/25 15:14] Mazidox Linden: This is the mandatory shiny alert.
[2017/05/25 15:14] Duckie Dickins: I would like chat abilities for secondlife:///app/group/19657888-576f-83e9-2580-7c3da7c0e4ca/about on agni now that I remember. :D
[2017/05/25 15:14] Duckie Dickins: yay shiny alert
[2017/05/25 15:14] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): shouts: debatable
[2017/05/25 15:14] Jenna Felton: a question. if the estate manager changes access settings in conflict with the parcell settings, does the EM receives any information about it? or even the info what parcells are affected? I beleive that would help not to misconfigure too much
[2017/05/25 15:15] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Duck, ask Dan
[2017/05/25 15:15] Duckie Dickins: last i looked it showed only caleb and mazidox as owners of it now
[2017/05/25 15:15] Rex Cronon: lucy. did u miss the shiney alert:)
[2017/05/25 15:15] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Dan has promoting rights, iirc
[2017/05/25 15:15] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): I know he has ban rights, heh
[2017/05/25 15:16] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Rex, there are no shineys
[2017/05/25 15:16] Duckie Dickins: so Dan's the man....alright
[2017/05/25 15:16] Mazidox Linden: Grumble, not doing it in world I guess. Anyway! Here we go!
[2017/05/25 15:16] Mazidox Linden: http://aditi.coreqa.net/gridtool.php
[2017/05/25 15:16] Duckie Dickins: this is where they rickroll us
[2017/05/25 15:16] NOPE (margithe): ooo
[2017/05/25 15:16] Mazidox Linden: I made you a thing, I hope you like it :)
[2017/05/25 15:16] NOPE (margithe): is that current and self-updating?
[2017/05/25 15:17] arton Rotaru: isn't that Oskars?
[2017/05/25 15:17] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): oh, why didn't i think of rickroll before
[2017/05/25 15:17] Mazidox Linden: I made some... Improvements.
[2017/05/25 15:17] NOPE (margithe): nothing about rez rights :(
[2017/05/25 15:18] Rex Cronon: mazidox. could u also make it so we can slect the grid:)
[2017/05/25 15:18] Rex Cronon: select*
[2017/05/25 15:18] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): not really understanding that site
[2017/05/25 15:18] arton Rotaru: lol
[2017/05/25 15:18] Mazidox Linden: I could, but you wouldn't get anything from Agni. This is an Aditi only tool.
[2017/05/25 15:18] NOPE (margithe): but ish good! Not VERY shiny but good
[2017/05/25 15:18] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): personal tool?
[2017/05/25 15:19] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): not an official LL tool?
[2017/05/25 15:19] Jenna Felton: hmm, what about to have an object rezzed here permanently and when you click it and you are in the server beta test group, you receive a more comprehessive grid tool report with rez permissions and public access info
[2017/05/25 15:19] NOPE (margithe): CAN WE SPREAD THIS? iS IT IN THE BETA WIKI?
[2017/05/25 15:19] Duckie Dickins: lolz
[2017/05/25 15:19] NOPE (margithe): whoops
[2017/05/25 15:19] Mazidox Linden: YOU CAN SPREAD THIS IF YOU WANT AND IT'S AS IN THE WIKI AS IT WAS BEFORE, WHICH IS SOME
[2017/05/25 15:20] NOPE (margithe): YAY
[2017/05/25 15:20] arton Rotaru: lol
[2017/05/25 15:20] Rex Cronon: this was in the wiki?
[2017/05/25 15:20] Rex Cronon: under what rock was hidding:)
[2017/05/25 15:20] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): is this a beta tool that will be promoted to API status in the future or something?
[2017/05/25 15:20] Jenna Felton: /me rubs on her ears with hoof
[2017/05/25 15:20] NOPE (margithe): it was, but it was so outdated and non-functional that it was just... random
[2017/05/25 15:20] arton Rotaru: Oskar made this AFAIK
[2017/05/25 15:21] Mazidox Linden: This will tell you what region is running what channel, and if the region is healthy.
[2017/05/25 15:21] arton Rotaru: but it wasn't up to date most of the times^^
[2017/05/25 15:21] Rex Cronon: this tool needs something....
[2017/05/25 15:21] Jenna Felton: knowing what region runs on what channel is really cool thing
[2017/05/25 15:21] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): this isn't in lsl http friendly format
[2017/05/25 15:21] NOPE (margithe): ...more cowbell?
[2017/05/25 15:21] Jenna Felton: that was wanted long ago, yes
[2017/05/25 15:21] arton Rotaru: lol
[2017/05/25 15:21] Rex Cronon: it needs to show nr of prims in each sim:)
[2017/05/25 15:22] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): if I want data on one particular region, I have to get a whole page of data to sift through
[2017/05/25 15:22] arton Rotaru: Hey mazidox, you should disable that site ^^
[2017/05/25 15:22] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): ie, this isn't API friendly
[2017/05/25 15:22] arton Rotaru: people could accidently open it
[2017/05/25 15:22] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): it's just a page
[2017/05/25 15:22] Mazidox Linden: It's a human readable page Lucia, not a page made for machine consumption.
[2017/05/25 15:23] Mazidox Linden: I also contest that you couldn't parse it. It's regular, it has rules.
[2017/05/25 15:23] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): I want lsl http access to similar live data
[2017/05/25 15:23] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): but at region name level
[2017/05/25 15:23] Rex Cronon: and nr or scripts
[2017/05/25 15:23] Rex Cronon: and nr of temp objects
[2017/05/25 15:23] Mazidox Linden: You are free to make such a thing. You have the same tools I did in making this.
[2017/05/25 15:23] arton Rotaru: I want a faster chicken to ride
[2017/05/25 15:23] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): similar to llRequestSimStatus() or wth it was
[2017/05/25 15:23] Rex Cronon: and if has damage
[2017/05/25 15:23] Rex Cronon: and pathat finding
[2017/05/25 15:23] NOPE (margithe): you give them a finger ;)
[2017/05/25 15:23] Rex Cronon: and nr of parcels
[2017/05/25 15:23] Rex Cronon: and nr of owners
[2017/05/25 15:24] Rex Cronon: and.....
[2017/05/25 15:24] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): what I really want is remote access to a region's last stop time and last start time
[2017/05/25 15:24] Jenna Felton: now what's needed is the strategy that every server version that is ever tested on aditi remains for a aear at least for later testing, perhaps in a lighter region with a public access
[2017/05/25 15:24] Jenna Felton: year*
[2017/05/25 15:24] Mazidox Linden: I don't think that's currently technically possible Jenna, but I would be interested in such a thing in the future.
[2017/05/25 15:24] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): you mean leaving older versions on aditi for a year?
[2017/05/25 15:25] Duckie Dickins: hehe right now I got a gizmo that emails me the start and stop status of my home region
[2017/05/25 15:25] NOPE (margithe): sounds.... burdensome.
[2017/05/25 15:25] Jenna Felton: to detect bugs in script that appears or disappars with any change of the server version
[2017/05/25 15:25] Rex Cronon: what do u mean, we could make it this page:)
[2017/05/25 15:25] Jenna Felton: yes
[2017/05/25 15:25] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Duck, I sell a freebie that does that too
[2017/05/25 15:25] Jenna Felton: not sure aboutDRTSim versions but perhaps those that came to agni
[2017/05/25 15:26] Mazidox Linden: I made this with LSL and some PHP glue Rex. Nothing special. There's no Linden magic here.
[2017/05/25 15:26] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): perhaps keeping one channel as a floater channel and pop in something old
[2017/05/25 15:26] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): but, I have an extended version that is KVP based that updates a KVP entry every 5 seconds with env data, so when a region crashes I can get an est when the stop time was, because w/o remote references, you won't know
[2017/05/25 15:26] Rex Cronon: oh, this is ona a server that doesn't belong to ll?
[2017/05/25 15:26] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): you won't knwo with rollbacks
[2017/05/25 15:27] Jenna Felton: question, why there is region rating in the table?
[2017/05/25 15:27] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): why I'd really love a last stop time param somewhere
[2017/05/25 15:27] Jenna Felton: to find where you can test weapons on aditi?
[2017/05/25 15:27] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): I'd kill to have a "region time to restart" param too, jheh
[2017/05/25 15:27] Mazidox Linden: Some issues only occur in certain region classifications.
[2017/05/25 15:27] Jenna Felton: ah, not knew that
[2017/05/25 15:29] Mazidox Linden: I'll be filling out the list of regions a bit more over the next few days.
[2017/05/25 15:30] Rex Cronon: hmmm. there is a lsl function that gives u the names of all the sims/regions on the grid?
[2017/05/25 15:30] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): no, lol
[2017/05/25 15:31] Duckie Dickins: you could always scrape http://gridsurvey.com/ for data
[2017/05/25 15:31] Nal (nalates.urriah): I think the closest we have to a full list is the Grid Survey by Shepard
[2017/05/25 15:31] Rex Cronon: oh. u could use grid coordinates
[2017/05/25 15:31] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): would be nice to have a llListAdjacentRegions() function
[2017/05/25 15:31] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): atm you'd have to scrape that site to get them
[2017/05/25 15:31] Jenna Felton: hmm, a grid-wie experience with the kvp database. a script compiled in that experience for an access to that database. install that script into a hud and givbe it out to residents willing to pparticipate and just go from sim to sim here. And a PHP that can access that KVP database and you have sich a page building up automatically Mazidox :)
[2017/05/25 15:32] Mazidox Linden: You could request those using llRequestSimulatorData() to both Rex and Lucia.
[2017/05/25 15:32] Rex Cronon: thank u duckie:)
[2017/05/25 15:32] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): you have to know the sim name Mazi
[2017/05/25 15:32] Jenna Felton: sich = such
[2017/05/25 15:33] Mazidox Linden: llTeleportAgentGlobalCoords() would probably get you the relevant data from a hud, if you really wanted.
[2017/05/25 15:33] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): how?
[2017/05/25 15:34]  Mazidox Linden: llGetRegionName()?
[2017/05/25 15:34] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): only the region you're in, lol
[2017/05/25 15:34] arton Rotaru: you will have to hop to every region
[2017/05/25 15:34] Mazidox Linden: arton, no one said science was easy. Just that knowledge is power.
[2017/05/25 15:34] Rex Cronon: u need a bot to do that
[2017/05/25 15:34] arton Rotaru: it's only 23k and declining
[2017/05/25 15:35] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): grid survey already employs bots that do taht
[2017/05/25 15:35] NOPE (margithe): and not even that is very reliable
[2017/05/25 15:35] arton Rotaru: well, I know which regions are around mine, that's all I need to know^^
[2017/05/25 15:35] Rex Cronon: u can't tp to private islands. can u?
[2017/05/25 15:35] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): there are ways
[2017/05/25 15:35] NOPE (margithe): you can if they are open
[2017/05/25 15:35] Rex Cronon: i am talking about closed onew
[2017/05/25 15:36] Rex Cronon: ones*
[2017/05/25 15:36] Jenna Felton: people could fill the database too, instead of boots, only needed the database. this is why i said gridscope experience, because it hast the database
[2017/05/25 15:36] arton Rotaru: well, we know which server version is running where on Agni, don't we
[2017/05/25 15:37] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): generally
[2017/05/25 15:37] Jenna Felton: yes
[2017/05/25 15:37] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): theres no remote region data acquisition by lsl though
[2017/05/25 15:37] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): except for that data server fucntion
[2017/05/25 15:37] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): to get only three data points,,,,
[2017/05/25 15:37] arton Rotaru: that's boring, perhaps thatÄ's why :p
[2017/05/25 15:38] Mazidox Linden: Go on an adventure!
[2017/05/25 15:38] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): but we still don't have access to last stop time and next stop time remotely or internally
[2017/05/25 15:39] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): and I need it, heh
[2017/05/25 15:39] Mazidox Linden: What do you think Uptime is?
[2017/05/25 15:39] NOPE (margithe): Lucia wants gacha copy detectors? ;D
[2017/05/25 15:39] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): copy detectors?
[2017/05/25 15:39] NOPE (margithe): doesn't that work anymore? take stuff into inventory, kill region
[2017/05/25 15:40] NOPE (margithe): and i didn't say that :P
[2017/05/25 15:40] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Mazi, which uptime? current or last?
[2017/05/25 15:40] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): current is now - start time
[2017/05/25 15:40] Rex Cronon: u know when we press ctrl+shift+1 and u get all that info. we need lsl functions that can get all that data
[2017/05/25 15:40] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): last uptime is last stop time - last start time
[2017/05/25 15:40] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Rex, I filed a request for that
[2017/05/25 15:40] Rex Cronon: good lucy:)
[2017/05/25 15:41] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-10263
[2017/05/25 15:41] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): wasn't accepted
[2017/05/25 15:41] Rex Cronon: no kidding
[2017/05/25 15:41] Rex Cronon: i guess ll cosidered is too much work
[2017/05/25 15:41] Mazidox Linden: Uptime is how long since we most recently started the region.
[2017/05/25 15:41] Rex Cronon: considered*
[2017/05/25 15:41] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Mazi, right
[2017/05/25 15:41] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): that isn't what I want
[2017/05/25 15:42] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): because I can get that now
[2017/05/25 15:42] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): I want to know two things, how long the sim was last down and how long it was last up
[2017/05/25 15:42] Mazidox Linden: I feel like you're glossing over the part where I made this using the exact same tools any of you would use. There's no magic Linden APIs here.
[2017/05/25 15:43] arton Rotaru: are you planning to write a book about region crashes?
[2017/05/25 15:43] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): no, I'm wanting new functions, lol
[2017/05/25 15:43] Mazidox Linden: That's very out of scope for this Lucia.
[2017/05/25 15:43] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): arton, this is for region monitor tools
[2017/05/25 15:43] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): Mazi, I changes the subject, lol
[2017/05/25 15:43] Rex Cronon: 4 a sec i though was something special mazidoz:(
[2017/05/25 15:43] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): *changed
[2017/05/25 15:43] Duckie Dickins: I would guess normally the sim debugging was suppose to be for the server staff however so many regions..so little staff.....we gotta help. :P
[2017/05/25 15:44] Jenna Felton: I wroote a script that saves the previous region version and previous restart time
[2017/05/25 15:44] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): how long the sim was last down and how long it was last up is essential data for region owners
[2017/05/25 15:45] Rex Cronon: wait as sec. there r more sims on beta than those lsted there
[2017/05/25 15:45] Jenna Felton: you can make book keeping of restarts if you let your script run longer time :)
[2017/05/25 15:45] Duckie Dickins: I managed a region for a couple of years......one that had heavy lag from gun combat and scripted items....we never really bothered with that info.... :P
[2017/05/25 15:46] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): currently without those functions you need a remote source to write to to reference on a restart to know how lone a sim was down, primarily if there was any server time loss, ie, rollbacks
[2017/05/25 15:46] arton Rotaru: the page is just a little helper tool guys, so you can quickly see where to to test soemthing on a server
[2017/05/25 15:46] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): that's how i see it too
[2017/05/25 15:46] Duckie Dickins: yup
[2017/05/25 15:46] arton Rotaru: and don't have to hop around to find the server version you are looking for
[2017/05/25 15:46] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): and the regions listed are vetted by yours truly
[2017/05/25 15:46] NOPE (margithe): and for new people who want to come and try beta grid out, to know where to teleport even
[2017/05/25 15:46] Mazidox Linden: Write up a user story detailing how this is essential information that would positively impact everyone and negatively impact no one Lucia, and submit it as a Feature Request. If you can write a compelling case for why it helps everyone and hurts no-one, without glossing over any issues that are detrimental to your argument, you're much more likely to get your request accepted.
[2017/05/25 15:47] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): it was filed
[2017/05/25 15:47] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): it wasn't accepted
[2017/05/25 15:47] Rex Cronon: than u should put a link to this at landing points in all sims?
[2017/05/25 15:47] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): with a typical template response
[2017/05/25 15:47] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): "can't tackle it at this time"
[2017/05/25 15:47] Duckie Dickins: that sounds like oz......most of the time he just says no. :P
[2017/05/25 15:48] Rex Cronon: AFK...............................
[2017/05/25 15:48] Rex Cronon: afk
[2017/05/25 15:48] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): I filed a request for remote access to last start time too and got the same response, heh
[2017/05/25 15:49] Duckie Dickins: this one was one of my favorite to bring up and oz always said no. :) https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-6480
[2017/05/25 15:49] arton Rotaru: what is it about
[2017/05/25 15:49] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): I chalk it up to "There are only so many devs not stolen to work on Sansar to work on things for SL"
[2017/05/25 15:50] Duckie Dickins: the tl;dr version is linux like sockets for LSL.
[2017/05/25 15:50] arton Rotaru: ah
[2017/05/25 15:50] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): sounds dangerous
[2017/05/25 15:51] Mazidox Linden: Requests need broad applicability in order to have a better chance of being accepted. A feature that impacts 100 people is a lot harder to accept than a feature that impacts 10,000 people. The other major lever that those 100 people can reliably pull is that not having this feature really really hurts, or having this feature would save so so much time, on order of days or weeks per person, and that's not a guarantee by any means.
[2017/05/25 15:51] Jenna Felton: sokets is a cool idea but perhaps it looks much too close to hardware and unsecure against hacks via LSL, just an idea
[2017/05/25 15:53] Duckie Dickins: yeah it's mostly for connecting to a socket on a remote site to stream data and receive a response.
[2017/05/25 15:53] arton Rotaru: creepy chicken doesn't move anymore
[2017/05/25 15:53] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): so, whats coming down the pipe?
[2017/05/25 15:53] arton Rotaru: we are not slowfoof Duckie
[2017/05/25 15:53] Jenna Felton: you forgot to feed them artom
[2017/05/25 15:54] Jenna Felton: arton
[2017/05/25 15:54] arton Rotaru: food even*
[2017/05/25 15:54] arton Rotaru: atom is my second name
[2017/05/25 15:54] arton Rotaru: lol
[2017/05/25 15:54] Jenna Felton: :)
[2017/05/25 15:54] Mazidox Linden: Maybe DRTSIM-346, finally.
[2017/05/25 15:54] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): and don't even mention shineys, heh
[2017/05/25 15:54] Mazidox Linden: Other than that, I know nothing.
[2017/05/25 15:54] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): because I have a headache
[2017/05/25 15:55] Jenna Felton: would be cool to replace textures for sky, moon, sun and clouds via LSL
[2017/05/25 15:55] arton Rotaru: so, Pile-on next thursday?
[2017/05/25 15:55] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): BTW, the office is closed this coming monday
[2017/05/25 15:56] arton Rotaru: what holiday is it?
[2017/05/25 15:56] NOPE (margithe): Murican day
[2017/05/25 15:56] Duckie Dickins: off topic....how has your first almost 5 months working at LL been Mazidox? :)
[2017/05/25 15:56] Mazidox Linden: Either that or earlier. I'd prefer earlier, but we can do next Thursday. Show up and bring your most complex avatars. No griefer AVs.
[2017/05/25 15:56] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): his account is 5 months old, but he's been with the company longer, right?
[2017/05/25 15:57] Duckie Dickins: my normal avatar is almost 300k complexity. lol
[2017/05/25 15:57] Mazidox Linden: Just the five months, though I've been a resident for... Hmm
[2017/05/25 15:57] Duckie Dickins: and that's not even trying
[2017/05/25 15:57] Mazidox Linden: Gosh, I've lost count.
[2017/05/25 15:57] NOPE (margithe): ...and still a noob avatar. Realöly?
[2017/05/25 15:58] Duckie Dickins: maybe his resident is also noob. P
[2017/05/25 15:58] NOPE (margithe): and no bear.
[2017/05/25 15:58] Duckie Dickins: haha.
[2017/05/25 15:58] Mazidox Linden: I'm not a builder, I swear!
[2017/05/25 15:58] NOPE (margithe): Someone needs to oversee the recruitment process :P
[2017/05/25 15:58] Duckie Dickins: you spilled the beans...
[2017/05/25 15:58] Duckie Dickins: now there's no excuse.
[2017/05/25 15:58] Duckie Dickins: we assumed you were super noob ..
[2017/05/25 15:59] Duckie Dickins: but if you were a resident first...
[2017/05/25 15:59] Mazidox Linden: I really, genuinely, suck at building.
[2017/05/25 15:59] arton Rotaru: now that the meeting is over, I just noticed that I can't see Mazidox at all
[2017/05/25 15:59] arton Rotaru: ah he is on that disco globe lol
[2017/05/25 15:59] NOPE (margithe): Thats like saying " I'm a sucky seamstress" while you can't even put your socks on :P
[2017/05/25 15:59] Duckie Dickins: super bake fails here o aditi.
[2017/05/25 15:59] Rex Cronon: mazidox must have been a ave before he became a linden:)
[2017/05/25 15:59] Duckie Dickins: omg
[2017/05/25 16:00] Mazidox Linden: I mean, there's a reason I prefer sandals Margithe :P
[2017/05/25 16:00] NOPE (margithe): lol
[2017/05/25 16:00] NOPE (margithe): Well, i have to dash, thanks for today!
[2017/05/25 16:00] Rex Cronon: tc nope
[2017/05/25 16:00] Mazidox Linden: Thanks for coming out.
[2017/05/25 16:00] Rex Cronon: i g2g. tc folks and have fun:)
[2017/05/25 16:01] Duckie Dickins: do you at least have your own house on agni like simon does?
[2017/05/25 16:01] Jenna Felton: thank you Rex :) have a good time
[2017/05/25 16:01] Rex Cronon: and lindens. good luck making new shineys. u don't want lucy to enter a coma;)
[2017/05/25 16:01] Rex Cronon: u 2 jena
[2017/05/25 16:01] Mazidox Linden: I have a flat green region that has a couple .5x.5x.5 plywood cubes on it. That is the extent of my Agni presence.
[2017/05/25 16:01] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): we can keep her up by bringing the anti-shinies
[2017/05/25 16:02] Duckie Dickins: wow
[2017/05/25 16:02] Mazidox Linden: I spend about 98% of my time by volume on Aditi.
[2017/05/25 16:02] Jenna Felton: i hope every LL employee gets a reasonable parcell to live and have fun :)
[2017/05/25 16:02] Mazidox Linden: Yes, time is measured in volume.
[2017/05/25 16:02] Mazidox Linden: The More You Know
[2017/05/25 16:02] Rex Cronon: i can't log off
[2017/05/25 16:02] Duckie Dickins: lucy..next weeks update is that they got a new coffee machine in the breakroom. :P
[2017/05/25 16:02] arton Rotaru: lol Rex
[2017/05/25 16:02] arton Rotaru: better than being kicked out every 10 mins right
[2017/05/25 16:03] Duckie Dickins: woohoo
[2017/05/25 16:03] Rex Cronon: i guess
[2017/05/25 16:03] arton Rotaru: alrighty, have a good one everyone
[2017/05/25 16:03] Lucy Daughter of the Devil (lucia.nightfire): I got stuff to do, see you all later
[2017/05/25 16:03] Rex Cronon: loggin off should the only things that alsways work...
[2017/05/25 16:03] Rex Cronon: tc lucy
[2017/05/25 16:03] Jenna Felton: yes :)
[2017/05/25 16:03] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): bye now
[2017/05/25 16:03] Rex Cronon: tc caleb
[2017/05/25 16:03] Duckie Dickins: unless it has turned into SAO...
[2017/05/25 16:03] Jenna Felton: have a good time everyone and good end of the week, much fun and see you all other time :)
[2017/05/25 16:04] Mazidox Linden: Have a good one everyone, I've got to go finish my latest test script.
