This template inserts a large warning box with This article is out of date!

If a parameter is supplied, it is appended as a line indented below the warning.

A parameter called type can optionally be used to use a different word from the default article (which is the original version of this template). For example, to display the word section instead:

 {{Obsolete|optional additional text just for this section|type=section}}

This section is out of date! optional additional text just for this section

In either case, the article will be added to the Category:Obsolete Articles.
