1) Discussion about what services LL is planning to offer that will entice people to
pay a fee to hook their grid to SL. The main interest in hooking to the Grid is dependent on the benefits of interoperability: some sort of standards, or a joint economic opportunity (sort of like trade between countries), portable identity, potentially providing interoperability between SL Grid and There and AWoW. Ultimately taking the idea to the next level. LL is working on the business model to further evaluate.
2) Reminder to use the support portal for password help. You can log in as a guest.
3) Kamael reports they’ve raised over a million for Globalgiving. Their legal team
is working up a letter to demand retraction in the Avastar and cease and desist letters for delivery to people who are libeling the Festival inworld. Attendance has been excellence, and the performers have been really talented.
4) Philip’s interview in Focus talking about a new filtering system which allows countries
to choose which laws apply to their RL residents—he was speculating on what LL might do if we’re threatened by other countries.
Action Items:
1) Clarification of where it’s okay to but/not buy L$ would be nice. Especially for the
Germans (per Tao Takashi). Robin reminds people that the only safe place to buy is LindeX or well-established SL sites like SL Exchange.
