Torley Linden: Keira, ah, some people complained their skins looked very flawed in WL, but it was simply that WL has a wider dynamic range, so it was exposing problems in some poorly-crafted skins with seams and such that became more visible.
Squirrel Wood: the big complaint comes mostly from people who fear change and are unwilling to adapt.
Aimee Congrejo: Keira, basically making the skin using colors that don't go all weird in WindLight...like this Naughty Designs skin I'm wearing has *really* harsh shadows in dark WindLight like right now.
Aimee Trescothick: the starfield is done by keeping the camera upside down so it looks like there's just stars below you

On the Mac, I used to be able to Command-Tab (Apple-Tab) to switch between SL Fullscreen and other apps and have SL Fullscreen in the background. Now Command-Tab switches between SL windows (inventory, etc.). Any way to override that so I can switch between apps again?
Torley Linden: I wonder if the Crash Team folks will want to blog about greater awareness, tho.

Aimee Congrejo: Cuz Command-Tab is the default Mac switch-apps thing like Alt-Tab on Windows...and SL overrides that.

Torley Linden: JayR: Thanks, well Dazzle is based on 1.19 and RC is 1.19.1 so the next Dazzle will likely be based on 1.19.1 BUT we're also fixing bugs in the RC... so hopefully it gets better for you.
CeeJay Tigerpaw: I just tried command-tab on my Mac Pro (with Leopard 5.2) and it responded in the "Apple" way, switching between Mac apps.

Torley Linden: JayR: Actually, the whole "WindLight" release also includes longtime code cleanup and performance optimizations, so it's a faster viewer too (on average for most systems).

Aimee Congrejo: Torley, yeps, WindLight has boosted me up to 100 FPS in some sims...but on the Mac FPS sucks...I got an 8-Core 3 GHz Xeon Mac Pro with Radeon X1900 512 MB and I'm getting *2 FPS* right now with everyone here.

Torley Linden: A well-balanced system is important because when recording AND being in SL at the same time, you need fast hard drive access, for example.
Torley Linden: Mari, well, so SL renders normally, and then the video capture program has to grab frames from that and encode them realtime. So there is some duplication involved.
