  • [15:04] Darling BrodyDarling: Brody reconsiders sitting so close....
  • [15:05] Oskar Linden: let me find my agenda link
  • [15:05] Gooden Uggla: you could make a fortune by breathing on the search guys
  • [15:05] Oskar Linden: who do you think I got it from Gooden?
  • [15:05] Thomas Shikami: Yay, finally logged in using multiple viewers at once without the multiple viewers option
  • [15:05] Gooden Uggla: figures, nothing good comes from them
  • [15:05] Gooden Uggla: *ducks*
  • [15:05] Oskar Linden: was --multiple that hard to type?
  • [15:05] Darling Brody: biggest bugs are in viewer 2.0, so i guess those guys made you sick. they make me sick...
  • [15:05] Kallista Destiny: laughs
  • [15:06] Oskar Linden: alright alright. let's get this train back on track
  • [15:06] Oskar Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta_Server_Office_Hours
  • [15:06] Oskar Linden: agenda time
  • [15:06] Thomas Shikami: luckily 2.0 and 2.1.1 are outdated
  • [15:06] Oskar Linden: what have I got for you guys today
  • [15:06] Oskar Linden: oh, well have you all said hi to the teens this week?
  • [15:06] Thomas Shikami: I'm on 2.4, the best viewer so far and the one with the second least crashes
  • [15:06] Rickk Turbo: nope
  • [15:06] Oskar Linden: they were very nervous to meet all you mature adults
  • [15:07] Rickk Turbo: I@ve been to some of the TG regions
  • [15:07] Homeless: mature: adults?
  • [15:07] Psi Merlin: Hi Oskar, Monty, Maestro
  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: I assured them that the adults in SL were probably less mature than they were
  • [15:07] Rickk Turbo: they need cleaning up
  • [15:07] Gooden Uggla: we have mature adults? since when?
  • [15:07] Rickk Turbo: loads of abonded land
  • [15:07] Thomas Shikami: so true
  • [15:07] Rickk Turbo: and objects left leying around
  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: the TG merge took some doing
  • [15:07] Darling Brody: yep. set my region to adult....... the teens will feel the love.
  • [15:07] ID Bookmite: Are we still pretending there were never any teens here to start with
  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: it felt like trying to push two magnets together
  • [15:07] Thomas Shikami: Moderate is enough to keep teens out
  • [15:08] Gooden Uggla: i can imagine
  • [15:08] Rickk Turbo: so what was the techincal difference bewteen TG and MG?
  • [15:08] Homeless: 18: & 19 are teens
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: it was a fairly simple transform to do, but time consuming
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: the transform scripts kinda forgot about groups though
  • [15:08] Rickk Turbo: but you have computers to do they hard work :)
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: so groups still were on the TG but no accounts could access them
  • [15:09] Rickk Turbo: just out of cuirousity do u have account stats for TG users?
  • [15:09] Darling Brody: yess, the google translator in viewer 2.0 has to be adapted for 133T sp33k when the teens arrived.
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: because all accounts were set to the MG
  • [15:09] Rickk Turbo: like how many registered?
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: that made buying group owned land impossible
  • [15:09] Gooden Uggla: i felt really bad upping my public surfing sim to moderate, but our sim next to it is moderate and couldn't take the chance :/... one less place in destination
  • [15:09] Kallista Destiny: laughs 133t
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: we got that taken care of monday morning
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: I think we still have aditi to update
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: if you happen to meet any teens interested in beta testing please invite them to this group
  • [15:10] Rickk Turbo: hmm
  • [15:10] Kallista Destiny: alright
  • [15:11] Rickk Turbo: teens wont do anything without some kkind of incentive
  • [15:11] Rickk Turbo:  :)
  • [15:11] Kallista Destiny: we might get a diferent perspective from then
  • [15:11] Rickk Turbo: i doubt software deguggering is one of them
  • [15:11] Homeless: they'd: probasbly enjoy load testing
  • [15:12] Homeless: pounding: away on sims
  • [15:12] Rickk TurboRickk: Turbo renames Beta Testers to Beta and EMO testers
  • [15:12] Rickk Turbo:  :)
  • [15:12] Thomas Shikami: nope, load testing is an adult thing, teens are too mature to do any silly things like that
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: some of the teens might be interested
  • [15:12] Rickk Turbo: ok well if they ask
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: I'm fairly open with this group for anyone interested
  • [15:12] Gooden Uggla: yup oskar, there will be a few
  • [15:12] Thomas Shikami: you have the wrong view on teens it seems
  • [15:12] Homeless: good: point thomas
  • [15:12] Rickk Turbo: i'll point them in the right direftion
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: thanks
  • [15:13] Rickk Turbo: i doubt many know anything about aditi
  • [15:13] Rickk Turbo: even adults
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: it is a bit funny to see teen regions set up still with signs for a 2006 winter snowball fight
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: looks like someone forgot about those
  • [15:13] Gooden Uggla: lol they come and see the meeting area and run away :)
  • [15:13] Rickk Turbo: which regions?
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: some of the snowy teen regions
  • [15:13] Rickk Turbo: k
  • [15:13] Rickk Turbo: on aditi?
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: agni
  • [15:13] Darling BrodyDarling: Brody wonders what will happen to the graduation center they used to be teleported to when becoming 18.
  • [15:14] Rickk Turbo: yeh
  • [15:14] Eddi Decosta: hi
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: not sure darling
  • [15:14] ID Bookmite: Teens were always here, discussing how things are now different appears to be a waste of time
  • [15:14] Monty Linden: we TP them to Zendra
  • [15:14] Gooden Uggla: i'd like to take a look at the old TG regions, but i think i'd feel a little creepy without a guide, ya know?
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: might be de-primmed
  • [15:14] Eddi Decosta: sorry my late
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: pulled back into the pool
  • [15:14] Thomas Shikami: would it be enough for a TG member to just change their password to have their accounts converted to MG for Aditi?
  • [15:14] Darling Brody: i vote for keeping it... heritage list it...
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: ADITI needs the same transform
  • [15:15] Rickk Turbo: I saw Nova albion's clone
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: but ulitmately yes
  • [15:15] Rickk Turbo: it's a bloody mess :(
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: actually... that might work
  • [15:15] Thomas Shikami: it won't transfer groups and land though
  • [15:15] Rickk Turbo: they have a working cable car
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: so on to the main channel
  • [15:15] Rickk Turbo: I've been asking LPWD to bloody fix the one at luna
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: encroachment went full time this week
  • [15:16] Gooden Uggla: bugs fixed?
  • [15:16] Oskar Linden: after we fixed that one bug that let people return anything X-D
  • [15:16] Rickk Turbo: i've been borked since Havoc4 some im told
  • [15:16] Rickk Turbo: but the TG version works?
  • [15:16] Flip Idlemind: Delete anything*
  • [15:16] Thomas Shikami: well, I can return everything on my home sim, so what?
  • [15:16] Rickk Turbo: odd huh
  • [15:16] Oskar Linden: that's one bug the teens found first
  • [15:16] Kallista Destiny: lols
  • [15:17] Darling Brody: return anything? well that explains why people were asking me if I knew why everything on the land went missing.
  • [15:17] Sigma Avro: seems that raycast is not implemented on rc and magnum ?
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: it wasn't that
  • [15:17] ID Bookmite: I'm starting to think most here are teens pretending to be something they aren't
  • [15:17] Rickk Turbo: wasn't that due to a roll out?
  • [15:17] Maestro Linden: I think raycast is only enabled in the mesh branch still, Sigma
  • [15:17] Kallista Destiny: so the only thing a special viewer is needed for is the control that featyre?
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: raycast isn't implemented anywhere on agni
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: right Kallista
  • [15:18] Sigma Avro: ok
  • [15:18] Rickk Turbo: hmm is there a way to detect ex TG users from their uuid keys?
  • [15:18] Thomas Shikami: is it possible to have like magic boxes, when we put something in there on Agni it's automatically on Aditi?
  • [15:18] Darling Brody: is raycast going to have damage? someone told me that... will make it hard to duck behind a wall in a firefight :(
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: probably not thomas
  • [15:18] Rickk Turbo: not unless you get an inventory copy
  • [15:18] Rickk Turbo: textures maybe
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: I dont understand darling
  • [15:19] Homeless: imprudence: allows import/export of objects
  • [15:19] Thomas Shikami: it's an easy thing though and... well... I shouldn't continue >.>
  • [15:19] Rickk Turbo: oh
  • [15:19] Rickk Turbo: prims to file
  • [15:19] Rickk Turbo:  ?
  • [15:20] Rickk Turbo: and file to prims?
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: anyways
  • [15:20] Sigma Avro: (phoenix as well Ricck, but these import only for your own creations)
  • [15:20] Gooden Uggla: yes rikk, there's a way to telll who got graduated, find out who got added to the main grid that day with an old name
  • [15:20] Darling Brody: i understood raycast to be like a sensor beam that goes in one direction only. someone told me it will have the option to cause damage (kill you) over damage enabled land.
  • [15:20] Maestro Linden: Kallista: the current release viewer supports the sim console, so you should be able to toggle the object encroachment options with that
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: Magnum has some Displayames bug fixes
  • [15:20] Flip Idlemind: Yeah I just imported this amazing rubiks cube I made since I haven't gotten around to changing my password yet
  • [15:20] Flip Idlemind: Too lazy :O
  • [15:20] Thomas Shikami: Displaynames has to be redesigned imho
  • [15:20] Oskar Linden: I don't think raycasting offers enhanced damage
  • [15:21] Maestro Linden: But I believe the updated viewer logic to enable to 'return' UI option on encroaching objects is only in viewer 2.5 beta and 2.6 nightlies
  • [15:21] Thomas Shikami: the Firstname Lastname is so stable, it's kinda rediculous that Display Names fail so often
  • [15:21] Darling BrodyDarling: Brody agrees with Thomas. spoofing peoples name is in plague proportions.
  • [15:21] Monty LindenMonty: Linden agrees with Thomas (but denies everything)
  • [15:21] Sigma Avro: raycast is not lazer beam
  • [15:21] Gooden UgglaGooden: Uggla just *nods*
  • [15:21] Rickk Turbo: perhaps deny name changes if name exists?
  • [15:21] Melvin Starbrook: think display names are introduced to connect better to twitter and facebook?
  • [15:21] Darling Brody: no-damage is good.
  • [15:22] Thomas Shikami: well, if the viewer would re-request the displayname every 5 minutes, the display name servers wouldn't be that overburdened
  • [15:22] Darling Brody: i have not looked at raycast in other a month, so i was checking the rumor wasnt true.
  • [15:22] Flip Idlemind: Ray cast itself doesn't have damage, but you can cast a ray and then rez a damage enabled prim right on the first thing it hits
  • [15:22] Oskar Linden: tell me about it
  • [15:22] Oskar Linden: that the vwr talks so often to the display names server is a lot of fail
  • [15:22] Jonathan Yap: I believe the cache timeout for a display name is 20 minutes
  • [15:23] Darling Brody: i think anytime someone calls any name related function the region should request an update.
  • [15:23] Sigma Avro: how long does t take for "show in search" setting to be updated ?
  • [15:23] Thomas Shikami: cache timeout for display names would be reasonable being set at 604800 seconds
  • [15:23] Oskar Linden: I don't know
  • [15:23] Thomas Shikami: or half a fortnight
  • [15:23] Darling Brody: Flip, that is what i thought it did. but someone insisted it had a damage param the other day. i wanted to check.
  • [15:24] Kallista Destiny: I think I confused then, do you need 2.5+ to actually do the return, or just to enable it?
  • [15:24] Oskar Linden: not much new on the LeTigre branch this week. It's got the main trunk code plus the vwr metrics code and will probably ship to the main grid next week.
  • [15:24] Homeless: would: be interesting to upgrade from 6-shooters to phasers
  • [15:24] Oskar Linden: I think to enable it Kalllista
  • [15:24] Monty LindenMonty: Linden hopes
  • [15:24] Thomas Shikami: I think even viewer 2.3 supports returning items on other people's parcels
  • [15:25] Maestro Linden: Just to do the return, Kallista. Older viewers only give you the 'return' option if the object's center position is over your parcel
  • [15:25] Kallista Destiny: nods nods, OK..
  • [15:25] Maestro Linden: well, if you're an estate manager, then you can return regardless...
  • [15:25] Oskar Linden: maestro knows
  • [15:25] Kallista Destiny: that is diferent I understand
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: I'm going to have to have my alts pull in all their encroaching prims
  • [15:26] Kallista Destiny: There are alos options for allowing returns on private estats (by group controls)
  • [15:26] Sigma Avro: haha
  • [15:26] Homeless: encroachment: probably is a bigger problem on the mainland
  • [15:26] Darling Brody: ...and drive your car more carfully...
  • [15:26] Thomas Shikami: could the prim limit raised to 64m per side then?
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: on BlueSteel this week is Simons Interest List code
  • [15:27] Sigma Avro: encrachment on different sims works ?
  • [15:27] Maestro Linden: yeah, the plan is to eventually enable encroachment on the mainland, but first we need to make some changes to put things like Linden roads in the 'estate content' category
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: which should fix the fireworks rendering issues
  • [15:27] Darling Brody: i thought the 10M prim size was all about region crossings...
  • [15:27] Thomas Shikami: region crossings is another beast
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: yeah we don't want people returning linden roads
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: all the cars that use them would crash
  • [15:28] Darling BrodyDarling: Brody wants to return the road now.
  • [15:28] Maestro Linden: Sigma: encroaching objects remote sims can't be returned yet, but we eventually plan to add support for that
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: sometimes I think it would be cool if TP and fly were off so people had to walk or drive cars around
  • [15:28] Sigma Avro: well, they are not in that good shape nthese roads, lol
  • [15:28] Marky Quartz: I agree
  • [15:28] Gooden Uggla: ao off
  • [15:28] Thomas Shikami: could tax teleports again like in Linden World
  • [15:28] Marky Quartz: xD
  • [15:28] Jonathan Yap: In the early days you could only tp to telehubs
  • [15:28] Homeless: walking: is too slow
  • [15:28] Melvin Starbrook: ((try the railroad :))
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: the teleport tax eh?
  • [15:29] Darling Brody: HAY!!! no fair... i live on a private island... there are no cars to drive to mainland...
  • [15:29] Melvin Starbrook: not sure its a linden one though
  • [15:29] Thomas Shikami: heh, it'd solve a lot of trouble
  • [15:29] Sigma Avro: (((not enough frequent and station too far)))
  • [15:29] Oskar Linden: boats darling. boats.
  • [15:29] Marky Quartz: ofcourse people would be extremyly upset. The cross regioning would have to be improved aswell
  • [15:29] Oskar Linden: crossing regions has been improved
  • [15:29] Darling Brody: boats in the void space?
  • [15:29] Thomas Shikami: region crossing would benefit from TP tax
  • [15:29] Homeless: every: time I try to drive a sim crossing throws me down to -121331 meters
  • [15:29] Melvin Starbrook: ((sim crossing s did improved :))
  • [15:29] Eddi Decosta: wb Psi
  • [15:29] Thomas Shikami: less teleporting around gives more bandwidth to sim crossings
  • [15:30] Marky Quartz: Yes but it needs to be improved much more i think
  • [15:30] Oskar LindenOskar: Linden takes away Homelsss' prim driving license
  • [15:30] Homeless: lol:
  • [15:30] Gooden Uggla: mainland is only 25% of the grid, you want drive off estate owners more?
  • [15:30] Thomas Shikami: (thomas.shikami) is now known as Thomas Shikami.
  • [15:30] Sigma Avro: yes, but on aditi, I went up to - 300 m last week.
  • [15:30] Kallista Destiny: you'd kill raiding and scouting for the combad sims
  • [15:30] Thomas Shikami: o.o
  • [15:31] Rickk Turbo: i keep seing the ocean a lot at sim crossings
  • [15:31] Thomas Shikami: I think I just hit a bug renaming my display name
  • [15:31] Rickk Turbo: a lot lately
  • [15:31] Oskar Linden: I wish you could drive a boat to private islands. but it woud take a few days
  • [15:31] Darling Brody: teleport tax is not going to happen. that would be like a webpage wanting your credit card before you could navigate away from it.
  • [15:31] Sigma Avro: any ideas of total adjacent sim perimeters in sl ?
  • [15:31] Darling Brody: Oskar, not the way I script my boats!
  • [15:31] Melvin Starbrook: tp tax lol
  • [15:31] Thomas Shikami: (thomas.shikami) is now known as Thomas the Jackal.
  • [15:31] Thomas Shikami: odd, this time it worked
  • [15:31] Oskar Linden: so Havok2k10
  • [15:32] Rickk Turbo: they used to charge for TPs back in the old days
  • [15:32] Eddi Decosta: Darling, teleport tax? lol
  • [15:32] Rickk Turbo:  :)
  • [15:32] Homeless: SL: would become depopulated with taxes
  • [15:32] Sigma Avro: yup Havok2k
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: has anyone taken the Falcon challenge and looked for newly broken physics issues on the mesh sims?
  • [15:32] Kallista Destiny: OK havock......
  • [15:32] Rickk Turbo: break havoc
  • [15:32] Sigma Avro: yes, boucing remains broken
  • [15:32] Rickk Turbo: or broken?
  • [15:33] Homeless: I: drove around my slum city forklift.... it worked OK
  • [15:33] Thomas Shikami: well, display names work wonderfully well on beta grid, haha
  • [15:33] Oskar Linden: did you file a bouncing bug?
  • [15:33] Sigma Avro: no
  • [15:33] Sigma Avro: will
  • [15:33] Oskar Linden: please do
  • [15:33] Sigma Avro: dont like fillinjg bugs
  • [15:33] Sigma Avro: ok
  • [15:34] Sigma Avro: that is the way it works
  • [15:34] Oskar Linden: how do you expect the developers to know what to fix?
  • [15:34] Eddi Decosta: Sigma, welcome in the new jira, honestly i prefers the old method to filling a bugs
  • [15:34] Sigma Avro: yes, ok, understood
  • [15:34] Darling Brody: whle working on havok2k10, will they fix the bug stopping people from sitting in regions with a megaprim?
  • [15:34] Oskar Linden: thanks Sigma
  • [15:35] Oskar Linden: no idea darling
  • [15:35] Sigma Avro: most welcome , tks for your support
  • [15:35] Maestro Linden: they wont' fix the bug if they don't know about it :)
  • [15:35] Kallista Destiny: Well I'll get some friends and we will see if we chan have a small battle w/o dropping to a crawl.
  • [15:35] Rickk Turbo: heh
  • [15:35] Rickk Turbo: maybe
  • [15:35] Homeless: many: times i'm not sure if it's a bug or things are working the way they are supposed to
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: that's why we set up verification regions.
  • [15:36] Darling Brody: i ony found out about it the other day... have been trying to work out why you cant sit on an unscripted prim in my region for the last 2 years.... turns out megaprim horizons prevent it
  • [15:36] Oskar Linden: the idea is that if it works that way on AGNI then it is expected
  • [15:36] Kallista Destiny: the Mesh regions you say...
  • [15:36] Thomas Shikami: yeah, easy fix. Put a llVolumeDetect(TRUE); script into the horizon
  • [15:37] Thomas Shikami: the feature about nosit within phantom prims is used. It'd break content if you could sit on unscripted prims within phantom prims
  • [15:37] Darling Brody: wouldn't phantom be better? they are currently phantom to keep them out of the collision engine.
  • [15:37] Darling Brody: that answers it.
  • [15:37] Oskar Linden: maestro, anything upcoming you want to discuss?
  • [15:38] Maestro Linden: Hm, nothing in particular
  • [15:38] Oskar Linden: simon, monty?
  • [15:38] Maestro Linden: we've got a set of random bugfixes coming up for next week
  • [15:38] Maestro Linden: I didn't hear what people think about the interest list fixes - are they working well?
  • [15:38] Thomas Shikami: llVolumeDetect is cheap, as it only registers entering and leaving. Not much physical happening there
  • [15:38] Monty Linden: nope, it's been quiet. Just sick of rollouts. :-)
  • [15:38] Maestro Linden: (basically, you should see medium sized objects from much further waway on bluesteel regions now)
  • [15:38] Kallista Destiny: laughs
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: every week monty. :-)
  • [15:39] Eddi Decosta: loll Monty
  • [15:39] Darling Brody: would be nice to see bullets cumming at your from a distance before they hit you...
  • [15:39] Eddi Decosta: i do nothing when i know for the rolling
  • [15:39] Thomas Shikami: I don't want to see bullets cum
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: only in the matrix darling
  • [15:39] Kallista Destiny: I do hear losts of moaning about the condition of the Asette servers on rollout day.
  • [15:40] Darling Brody:  ;)
  • [15:40] Darling Brody: SL is like the matric when lag hits.
  • [15:40] Eddi Decosta: Darling you talk about svc-6691? for teleport taxes? :p
  • [15:40] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-6691:
  • [#SVC-6691] Teleports Between: Second Life And Real Life Fail Without Explanation
  • [15:40] Rickk Turbo: Real LIfe?
  • [15:41] Eddi Decosta: lol*
  • [15:41] Homeless: when: will we have that feature working?
  • [15:41] Thomas Shikami: hehe, I like that one. Fix it asap please
  • [15:41] Oskar Linden: if you find interest list issues be sure to file them. you've got a good week and a half
  • [15:41] Jonathan Yap: Was there a lot of sims restarting this morning at 4am? (which would explain why I could not log in for 10 minutes and people were complaining about inventory issues)
  • [15:41] Rickk Turbo: is Real Life an actual region?
  • [15:41] Thomas Shikami: I'd like to interface RL using the viewer
  • [15:41] Oskar Linden: not that I heard about Jonathan
  • [15:41] Darling Brody: Can you fix my mouselook? when I am AFK I am always stuck in mouselook.
  • [15:41] Rickk Turbo: I read the report but didn't understand it
  • [15:42] Monty Linden: marky, your mic is open....
  • [15:42] Marky Quartz: sorry
  • [15:42] Monty Linden: interesting 'voice morphing'
  • [15:42] Eddi Decosta: lol
  • [15:43] Kallista Destiny: A slightly off topic question, what was the Voice issue yesterday?
  • [15:43] Oskar Linden: good thing I disabled voice
  • [15:43] Oskar Linden: 'the' voice issue?
  • [15:44] Kallista Destiny: it was down for ~ 1 hour
  • [15:44] Darling Brody: SVC-3044 < was there any decision on this. i vote for leaving the errors as theya re and adding another debug channel for an enhanced output, so we dont break anything using the old system. it's not like we have a shortage of channels.
  • [15:44] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3044:
  • [#SVC-3044] Debug channel: and script error reporting needs a major rethink
  • [15:44] Rickk Turbo: probably Vox server troubles again
  • [15:44] Oskar Linden: an hour of silence because I was home sick
  • [15:44] Kallista DestinyKallista: Destiny laughs
  • [15:45] Darling Brody: grid had larengitus?
  • [15:45] Eddi Decosta: Oskar, question where i can send a jira for the new web profile thing?
  • [15:45] Eddi Decosta: svc or web?
  • [15:45] Maestro Linden: Eddi, I think it woudl be WEB
  • [15:45] Oskar Linden: I guess file it as web
  • [15:45] Sigma Avro: I think there are some already Eddi
  • [15:45] Homeless: is: web profiles working yet? it didn't in the first 2.5 beta
  • [15:46] Monty Linden: Eddi: SSL problem?
  • [15:46] Oskar Linden: I think there were ssl cert issues in the 2.5b vwr
  • [15:46] Homeless: i: got the ssl error
  • [15:46] Eddi Decosta: ok, cause honestly this thing is againts the open communoty* if i cant desactive that when i go in an other grid
  • [15:46] Oskar Linden: that's a good point eddi
  • [15:46] Oskar Linden: please file that
  • [15:46] Eddi Decosta: ok
  • [15:46] trolololo (opensource.obscure): is now known as oobscure.
  • [15:47] Jonathan Yap: Do other grids have profiles? Is the viewer smart enough to fall back to some old method?
  • [15:47] Oskar Linden: I left a few interesting links in the Agenda for those interested in them
  • [15:47] Sigma Avro: voice ? lol
  • [15:47] Darling Brody: is it just me... or can everyone heard police radio?
  • [15:47] Rickk Turbo: yes
  • [15:47] Rickk Turbo: i can too
  • [15:47] Darling Brody: oh good... then i am nto having a stroke.
  • [15:47] Sigma Avro: yes Darling. But it is not police
  • [15:48] Sigma Avro: it is ISS
  • [15:48] Oskar Linden: the first is a link to the 2010 Q4 SL Economy Report: [1] the scripts we wrote only updated active users. so inactive teen accounts
  • [15:48] Rickk Turbo: ahh the joys of using beacons
  • [15:48] Rickk Turbo:  :)
  • [15:48] Jonathan Yap: Is it Lana Gehring?
  • [15:48] Oskar Linden: some interesting info there for those that care
  • [15:48] Rickk Turbo: yes
  • [15:48] Rickk Turbo: i derendered her
  • [15:48] Darling Brody: i have a suggestion.
  • [15:48] Oskar Linden: that was weird. looks like my cut and paste cache had more in it
  • [15:49] Jonathan Yap: Lana, please detach that sound source
  • [15:49] Sigma Avro: yes, not found your link
  • [15:49] Sigma Avro: well,, keyword is community
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: we also had rodvik file his first blog post: [2]
  • [15:50] Thomas Shikami: will web profile show online/offline status of users ever?
  • [15:50] Gooden Uggla: it's ok oskar, i'm sure most of us looked at the cooked numbers
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: that might be interesting to some of you
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: I don't know thomas
  • [15:50] Gooden Uggla: rodvik's post is pretty good tho
  • [15:50] Darling Brody: looking for JIRA number.... basicly it was to give inworld scripted objects the ability to HTTPRequest the transaction history page without needing the login via openID as we are already logged in...
  • [15:51] Oskar Linden: ok gooden. I just give you the urls. you can do with them what you will
  • [15:51] Rickk Turbo: HTTP requests are a pain
  • [15:51] Gooden Uggla: *n ods*
  • [15:51] Rickk Turbo: why can't I read json formated text?
  • [15:51] Thomas Shikami: uhm, I don't want scripts being able to access my transaction history page
  • [15:51] Darling Brody: it would be a very quick and easy way to make the paymetn details available... much easier that adding a return value to llGiveMoney....
  • [15:51] Oskar Linden: well that's about all I got. anyone have anything else?
  • [15:51] Darling Brody: your own script... our page.
  • [15:52] Expandable Baton: releasing controls
  • [15:52] Thomas Shikami: cause LSL can only download text/html and text/plain media, not application/javascript
  • [15:52] Gooden Uggla: darling, i can think of 3 ways to hack that, and i'm not a coder
  • [15:52] Flip Idlemind: So, like, maybe I missed it in the blogs or whatever, but whatever happened to "Simulator Shutdown" and "Centrals Supreme"? Did those get promoted or what? I don't remember seeing anything about them recently
  • [15:52] Rickk Turbo: why can't it return the RAW text?
  • [15:52] Thomas Shikami: Darling, I have many scripts running on my account that aren't my own, they are no modify, so I can't look at them
  • [15:52] Maestro Linden: yep flip, they got promoted
  • [15:52] Rickk Turbo: i dont see why it should filter my results
  • [15:52] Oskar Linden: I don't even know what all you guys are talking about now. it's hard to read everything you say when I'm trying to follow the agenda
  • [15:52] Sigma Avro: yes Oskar. I would say nice places on sl are not well publicised
  • [15:52] Thomas Shikami: So I don't want to get an object by someone, which could sneak into my transaction history and forward data to them
  • [15:53] Darling Brody: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-3560
  • [15:53] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#WEB-3560|JIRA-helper: [#WEB-3560]]:
  • [15:53] Thomas Shikami: thanks, time to add, why this is a very bad idea
  • [15:53] Gooden Uggla: maestro, some of the shutdown is fixed, but high traffic & scripted sims (we tested) still have performance hits after a rollout
  • [15:54] Darling Brody: Thomas, it could be somthing you need to toggle on/off from your account page. but it would give a very important feature we lack in the accounting system to vendors.
  • [15:54] Rickk Turbo: I wouldn't mind being able to search users so I could convert agent names to asset keys
  • [15:54] Maestro Linden: oh, the shutdown fixes were only for the actual shutdown process,
  • [15:54] Gooden Uggla: right, and it's better, nothing seems "stuck"
  • [15:54] Maestro Linden: so that when a simulator shuts down in a rolling restart,
  • [15:54] Rickk Turbo: but it seems LL block the search page from scripts
  • [15:54] Thomas Shikami: Yep, I'd like to be able to check transaction history. but please using a capability URL you keep secret, not the standard URL everyone knows
  • [15:54] Darling Brody: Thomas, dont go adding that. it could be somthing turned on... so if youdont want it, dont turn it on.
  • [15:54] Gooden Uggla: but sims need another restart to perform well
  • [15:54] Rickk Turbo: llAvgent2Key would be very handy
  • [15:54] Maestro Linden: the regions save their simstates 1 at a time, instead of in parallel
  • [15:55] Rickk Turbo: -v
  • [15:55] Maestro Linden: (going in parallel, sometimes system load goes very high and it ends up taking way too long)
  • [15:55] Thomas Shikami: I have to add that, as to keep it secure
  • [15:55] Opensource Obscure: about Havok... today I was playing in a Havok2010 sandbox and I saw that when small ( < 0.3m ) physical cubes collide with ground , they compenetrate it. and keep rotating - they don't stop. i wanted to do a video of that because I'm sure this was not much clear
  • [15:55] Kallista Destiny: If it is a toggle on the dashboard, the default value shoul be don't allow.
  • [15:55] Flip Idlemind: Yeah I would it if peoples' UUIDs were on the new web based profiles
  • [15:55] Oskar Linden: that's interesting OO
  • [15:55] Opensource Obscure: let's go to an Havok sim
  • [15:55] Darling Brody: Secure features are fine. i thought you were going to appose it outright.
  • [15:55] Maestro Linden: Do you have some benchmark data about the 2nd restart performance, Gooden?
  • [15:56] Gooden Uggla: maestro, i'd like to re-iterate my suggestion, that 2 hours after a rollout, that the entire grid just restart each region, simply for the performance boost
  • [15:56] Oskar Linden: I can't right now, but if you file a jira with video links I can have falcon take a look at it
  • [15:56] Opensource Obscure: ook! : )
  • [15:56] Darling Brody: It is a serious problem. many vendors have PHP scripts logging in manually which break every time the page or login is altered. having inworld objects automaticly able to access it means it wont break.
  • [15:56] Kallista Destiny: Gooden, that is a terrible Idea
  • [15:57] Oskar Linden: I proposed your idea internally gooden. no one wanted to do that
  • [15:57] Gooden Uggla: ok
  • [15:57] Kallista Destiny: the problem , clearly is a byproduct of 15% of the grid restarting.
  • [15:57] Flip Idlemind: Oh yeah and what happened to "thermonuclear" (and what is it?) Seems this sim has changed to "maint-server" since the last time I was here (and also, what's that?)
  • [15:58] Darling Brody: sadly PHP scripts loggin in is the OFFICIAL way to get the data.. we were promised beta test time on changes to the transaction, but the linden who set that up was fired.
  • [15:58] Kallista Destiny: now you want to restart 100% of the grid..???
  • [15:58] Oskar Linden: thermonuclear is gone
  • [15:58] Maestro Linden: oh, thermonuclear had a bugfix for encroachment, Flip
  • [15:58] Sigma Avro: I would suggest this as an option in sim console Gooden
  • [15:58] Gooden Uggla: kallista it's not much a problem for those of us with estates, but high traffic mainland really suffers
  • [15:58] Maestro Linden: Thermonuclear was last week's BlueSteel RC, as I recall..
  • [15:59] Flip Idlemind: Ah ok, Oskar made it sound like it was something super secret when I asked last time
  • [15:59] Maestro Linden: and it hit the main channel on Tuesday
  • [15:59] Oskar Linden: I do that
  • [15:59] Maestro Linden: it was a fix toa bad bug
  • [15:59] Thomas Shikami: okay, back
  • [15:59] Kallista Destiny: ahhhh... mainland is different....
  • [15:59] Gooden Uggla: and thanks for fixing that :)
  • [15:59] Darling BrodyDarling: Brody things Thermonuclear sounds like the strength of coffee programmers drink.
  • [16:00] Oskar Linden: well it is 4pm now :-)
  • [16:00] Rickk Turbo: 4pm
  • [16:00] Rickk Turbo: indeed
  • [16:00] Oskar Linden: and that brings this meeting to a close
  • [16:00] Psi Merlin: I'd still like top be able to select the channel for my estart via the console
  • [16:00] Rickk Turbo: back to bed?
  • [16:00] Rickk Turbo: or already in bed?
  • [16:00] Oskar Linden: time for a caffeine fix to get me through the rest of the day
  • [16:00] Gooden Uggla: sounds like what my girlfriend needs when she brings her icy feet to bed...
  • [16:00] Sigma Avro: good afternoon America, good morning europe
  • [16:00] Gooden Uggla: brrr...
  • [16:00] Oskar Linden: I know psi
  • [16:00] Eddi Decosta: its 19h00 pm for me Oskar :p
  • [16:01] Thomas Shikami: I think it's too easy to get at the transaction history. I'd like that I have to re-enter my password whenever I want to access transaction history, so no trojan on my PC could access that information, neither a TPV being able to access it either
  • [16:01] Melvin Starbrook: good mroning europe?
  • [16:01] Melvin Starbrook: its 1am in europe :)
  • [16:01] Darling Brody: Oskar, honey and lemon drink for you Mr
  • [16:01] Oskar Linden: i know eddi. you're always ahead of the time
  • [16:01] Melvin Starbrook: (the part i am)
  • [16:01] Rickk Turbo: midnight in the uk
  • [16:01] Eddi Decosta: hehe, and its little cold here :(
  • [16:01] Sigma Avro: <ell, it is past midnight
  • [16:01] Melvin Starbrook:  :)
  • [16:01] Eddi Decosta: lol
  • [16:01] Rickk Turbo: yeh
  • [16:01] Oskar Linden: you guys have a good rest of your day/night
