[2014/09/25 15:05] arton Rotaru: Guten Tag :)
[2014/09/25 15:05] Caleb Linden: Ein Prosit
[2014/09/25 15:05] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, arton.
[2014/09/25 15:05] Whirly Fizzle: Arton, you see really slow mesh load here?
[2014/09/25 15:05] Margithe: always fun to see someone pants on sideways.
[2014/09/25 15:05] Jenna Felton: what is null pointer? i only know nul poiner exception
[2014/09/25 15:05] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, Baker.
[2014/09/25 15:05] Caleb Linden: yay baker
[2014/09/25 15:05] Jenna Felton: hi Backer
[2014/09/25 15:05] Jenna Felton: And Blue
[2014/09/25 15:05] arton Rotaru: yeah, I saw Jennas Head huge and sideways
[2014/09/25 15:05] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): heya baker
[2014/09/25 15:05] Bluezy Bleac: Hi baker
[2014/09/25 15:05] Caleb Linden: have you seen simon btw, baker?
[2014/09/25 15:06] Hexapoda: Baker! Where have you been :-)
[2014/09/25 15:06] Rex Cronon: null pointers point to nothing and if u try to read what they point to, u get errors:)
[2014/09/25 15:06] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, Inara.
[2014/09/25 15:06] Jenna Felton: My head is not so big as it appears sometimes :)
[2014/09/25 15:06] Baker Linden: I have not, Cale
[2014/09/25 15:06] Jenna Felton: ah, true rex
[2014/09/25 15:06] Baker Linden: b
[2014/09/25 15:06] Jenna Felton: Now why Caleb is like null pointer...
[2014/09/25 15:07] Baker Linden: Hey everyone! I've been busy with development things
[2014/09/25 15:07] Rex Cronon: hi baker
[2014/09/25 15:07] Jenna Felton: that is not new Baker
[2014/09/25 15:07] Bluezy Bleac: well but but but, we missed ya
[2014/09/25 15:07] Whirly Fizzle: Heya baker
[2014/09/25 15:07] arton Rotaru: development for SL1 I hope
[2014/09/25 15:07] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): deploying what?
[2014/09/25 15:07] Jenna Felton: things :)
[2014/09/25 15:08] Baker Linden: yeah, but I can't talk about these things either :)
[2014/09/25 15:08] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): tease
[2014/09/25 15:08] Whirly Fizzle: No fun :(
[2014/09/25 15:08] Caleb Linden: yeah
[2014/09/25 15:08] arton Rotaru: sometime you will
[2014/09/25 15:08] Baker Linden: soon, yes
[2014/09/25 15:08] Rex Cronon: baker. u like to tease. lol
[2014/09/25 15:08] Bluezy Bleac: oh well
[2014/09/25 15:08] Jenna Felton: /me laughs her tears off
[2014/09/25 15:08] Caleb Linden: that's why i need baker here
[2014/09/25 15:08] Bluezy Bleac: we'll wait
[2014/09/25 15:08] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): baker has ben working on chat lag! :P
[2014/09/25 15:08] Whirly Fizzle: Is that the Linden Lab definition of "soon"?
[2014/09/25 15:09] Bluezy Bleac: soon? before the start of the next milenium
[2014/09/25 15:09] Lucia Nightfire: hopefully whatever it isn't too set in stone that popular/content creator opinion won't allow revisions
[2014/09/25 15:09] Jenna Felton: There is a simple rule. When you want use some word at any occasion, like "soon", never define it
[2014/09/25 15:09] Margithe: Soon, SL will be out of beta XD
[2014/09/25 15:10] Bluezy Bleac: nah, margithe let's not rush things ok?
[2014/09/25 15:10] Caleb Linden: and then again what IS beta?
[2014/09/25 15:10] HUDDLES EZ Animator Deluxe v1.2.0: Touched.
[2014/09/25 15:10] HUDDLES EZ Animator Deluxe v1.2.0: Touched.
[2014/09/25 15:11] Margithe: well, to be honest, i prefer constant development over finalized product.
[2014/09/25 15:11] Duckie Dickins: all I want to know is when the next platform's scripting language is picked so I can start learning it. :)
[2014/09/25 15:11] Duckie Dickins: is it C#?
[2014/09/25 15:11] Rex Cronon: c# is not just a scripting language. lol
[2014/09/25 15:11] Lucia Nightfire: it would do you good to learn C* anyway
[2014/09/25 15:12] Duckie Dickins: why? it's windows junk
[2014/09/25 15:12] Lucia Nightfire: broaden your knowledge
[2014/09/25 15:13] Margithe: lets save the bickering for a little later ;)
[2014/09/25 15:13] Baker Linden: You know why Java programmers wear glasses? Because they can't C# HA HA HA
[2014/09/25 15:13] Hexapoda: :D
[2014/09/25 15:13] Whirly Fizzle: lol
[2014/09/25 15:13] Jenna Felton: i dont think the SL2 will be different than SL1 in the scripting language. You will stil have something like embedded system, embedded in things you control by LSL2, like prims in SL1. And when it is the case, you can not lear LSL2 without having the SL2 with things you want control
[2014/09/25 15:13] Rex Cronon: haha
[2014/09/25 15:13] Hexapoda: Look through a Perl to C#
[2014/09/25 15:13] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): its already been stated there will be new scripting languages
[2014/09/25 15:14] Margithe: well... the second system... is the most dangerous system any architect will ever make...
[2014/09/25 15:14] Duckie Dickins: yup
[2014/09/25 15:14] Lucia Nightfire: I would hope that if we're forced to use LSL that there will be new functions and that all will be modular
[2014/09/25 15:14] Bluezy Bleac: windows 3.1 is still beta so :-)
[2014/09/25 15:14] Jenna Felton: LSL is actually powerfull for controling objects
[2014/09/25 15:15] Duckie Dickins: they already alluded that there wouldn't be LSL..someone thought of making an LSL interpreter if it's something like C#
[2014/09/25 15:15] arton Rotaru: yeah, but without a specific library, there isn't much point to learn ahead
[2014/09/25 15:15] Jenna Felton: needs only a few functions and constructs like arrays instead lists
[2014/09/25 15:16] Lucia Nightfire: so is there any new in this meeting for this week? heh
[2014/09/25 15:16] Caleb Linden: I think it's just Baker and I for today. Let me run through the announncements real quick
[2014/09/25 15:17] Caleb Linden: i wasn't actively working on the RC for this week
[2014/09/25 15:17] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): thats your annoucement? :P
[2014/09/25 15:17] arton Rotaru: lol
[2014/09/25 15:17] Caleb Linden: lol
[2014/09/25 15:17] Baker Linden: lol
[2014/09/25 15:18] Caleb Linden: touchée
[2014/09/25 15:18] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): :D
[2014/09/25 15:18] Bluezy Bleac: hehe
[2014/09/25 15:18] Caleb Linden: llGetExperienceDetails() now includes group_id in return list
[2014/09/25 15:18] Caleb Linden: llUpdateKeyValue() now correctly creates a key if it did not previously exist
[2014/09/25 15:18] Caleb Linden: Objects using experience permissions and llAttachToAvatar() are no longer automatically detached when leaving an area where the Experience is allowed
[2014/09/25 15:18] Lucia Nightfire: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlGetExperienceDetails <--can you update that wiki to say 6 components instead of 5
[2014/09/25 15:19] Caleb Linden: good call
[2014/09/25 15:19] Caleb Linden: i let their team know
[2014/09/25 15:19] Whirly Fizzle: You should be able to edit that page Lucia if you're logged into the wiki
[2014/09/25 15:20] Caleb Linden: no new shinies, but more of a fine tune i guess
[2014/09/25 15:21] Duckie Dickins: *edits llGetExperienceDetail "now with more cowbell"*
[2014/09/25 15:21] Caleb Linden: *Cow Bells and Whistles*
[2014/09/25 15:22] Duckie Dickins: now it says 6. :)
[2014/09/25 15:22] Jenna Felton: I am loking at the function and think, what would you do, when you need later in future to add an other component to return list. Would it not be a bit more wise to make the list somethink like [EXPERIENCE_NAME, string experience_name, OWNER_ID, key owner_id...], so the parsing script would read it and then know that when read a constant EXPERIENCE_NAME than next what follows will be the name?
[2014/09/25 15:23] Jenna Felton: or even use JASON for that
[2014/09/25 15:23] Lucia Nightfire: not following
[2014/09/25 15:24] Jenna Felton: than adding a new result to the list would be simple
[2014/09/25 15:24] HUDDLES EZ Animator Deluxe v1.2.0: Touched.
[2014/09/25 15:24] Jenna Felton: or skiping a result from the list
[2014/09/25 15:24] arton Rotaru: simple is boring
[2014/09/25 15:24] Bluezy Bleac: Kiss arton, KISS
[2014/09/25 15:24] arton Rotaru: lol
[2014/09/25 15:24] Jenna Felton: hehe
[2014/09/25 15:24] Hexapoda: Is this meeting logged so I can read up tomorrow? I need to sleep now.
[2014/09/25 15:25] Caleb Linden: yes, Hexapoda
[2014/09/25 15:25] Rex Cronon: that expains sl viewer code:)
[2014/09/25 15:25] Bluezy Bleac: good night hexapoda
[2014/09/25 15:25] Jenna Felton: good night Hexapoda
[2014/09/25 15:25] Hexapoda: Tc and have fun.
[2014/09/25 15:25] Rex Cronon: is streamed hex
[2014/09/25 15:25] Rex Cronon: tc
[2014/09/25 15:25] Bluezy Bleac: I never claimed Lindens were stupid, but I am, so, KISS
[2014/09/25 15:26] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): keep it stupidly simple
[2014/09/25 15:26] Jenna Felton: Perhaps my question abowe was rather for Maestro :)
[2014/09/25 15:26] Caleb Linden: it sure was
[2014/09/25 15:26] arton Rotaru: lol
[2014/09/25 15:27] Inara Breen: Any more Agni regions added to Snack and using the CDN?
[2014/09/25 15:27] Jenna Felton: and with you i was mean actually all who uses that function server and clientside :)
[2014/09/25 15:27] arton Rotaru: ahh CDN
[2014/09/25 15:27] Lucia Nightfire: I made a request but since it was for mainland I was SOL
[2014/09/25 15:27] Caleb Linden: let me check inara
[2014/09/25 15:28] Inara Breen: Ta, Caleb
[2014/09/25 15:28] Caleb Linden: what is your region?
[2014/09/25 15:28] Duckie Dickins: maybe maestro is stuck in line at starbucks behind someone who just ordered 10 tall half-skinny half-1 percent extra hot split quad shot latte with whip for their dev team.
[2014/09/25 15:28] Whirly Fizzle: Have any problems been reported yet on the Agni CDN regions?
[2014/09/25 15:28] arton Rotaru: I did the texture loading test another time last week, with warming up. This time it worked great for me
[2014/09/25 15:29] Caleb Linden: Duckie, this is exactly my nightmare scenario
[2014/09/25 15:29] Baker Linden: JEnna, I'm asking the experience dev about your question
[2014/09/25 15:29] Inara Breen: Oh, no region request from me - that was Arton. I'm just curious
[2014/09/25 15:29] Jenna Felton: thank You Baker
[2014/09/25 15:29] arton Rotaru: wut?
[2014/09/25 15:30] arton Rotaru: we just rent a homestead from da Chung family
[2014/09/25 15:30] Inara Breen: Ther are two or three big events that were put forward as suggestions, so curious if any were approached / made it
[2014/09/25 15:30] Inara Breen: there*
[2014/09/25 15:30] Baker Linden: Jenna: json would be a better option, unfortunately the function pre-dates json support in lsl
[2014/09/25 15:31] Caleb Linden: Brasil Rio, Brocade, Denby, Fluffy, Freedom City, Hippo Hollow, Hippotropolis, Rocket City, Testsylvania Sandbox, and Whippersnapper <- Inara
[2014/09/25 15:31] Baker Linden: we could likely use json for any future extensions
[2014/09/25 15:31] Inara Breen: Thanks, Caleb :)
[2014/09/25 15:31] Duckie Dickins: llGetExperienceDetailsJSON for the win
[2014/09/25 15:31] Jenna Felton: hm, ok, thank you Baker :)
[2014/09/25 15:31] Lucia Nightfire: sort of unnecessary imo
[2014/09/25 15:31] Jenna Felton: hehe Duckie
[2014/09/25 15:32] Lucia Nightfire: theres only two data points in that list that are useful imo
[2014/09/25 15:32] Lucia Nightfire: one, being teh one that was lost last week
[2014/09/25 15:32] Lucia Nightfire: which prevetned you from making an exp url to send to peopel
[2014/09/25 15:32] Lucia Nightfire: which is why I'm glad that was fixed
[2014/09/25 15:33] Jenna Felton: i was just in impression that the current definition may be too fixed and uflexible than it might be
[2014/09/25 15:33] Lucia Nightfire: theres so much incomplete and broken with experiences atm
[2014/09/25 15:34] Caleb Linden: i bet
[2014/09/25 15:34] Lucia Nightfire: its sad that use on mainland wasn't initially envisioned when it was implemented
[2014/09/25 15:34] Lucia Nightfire: which is cause for half of the problems
[2014/09/25 15:36] Margithe: i got the sinking feeling that mainland is a dump that LL wants to forget. We get nothing.
[2014/09/25 15:37] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): oh, just want to mention incase some hwew missed it, LL now has a public project viewer that does away with the gpu table
[2014/09/25 15:37] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Project_Benchmark/3.7.17.294710
[2014/09/25 15:37] arton Rotaru: thx
[2014/09/25 15:37] Whirly Fizzle: It defaults my GTX 550 to High-Ultra with full shadows. I think thats too high for that card
[2014/09/25 15:38] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): the main advantage of this is a brand new gpu will just work without needint to add it manually to the gpu table that ships with the viewer
[2014/09/25 15:38] Whirly Fizzle: *GTX 750 sorry
[2014/09/25 15:38] Whirly Fizzle: Previously GPU table defaulted it to medium-High.
[2014/09/25 15:38] arton Rotaru: depends on your likiing I would say
[2014/09/25 15:38] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): yeah, there might be some room for improving what it defaults to
[2014/09/25 15:38] Whirly Fizzle: Usually I run High fine. Full shadows is a bit much for full time use on that card
[2014/09/25 15:38] arton Rotaru: if you are fine with 15 fps....
[2014/09/25 15:39] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): just use onlive then, whirly :P
[2014/09/25 15:40] Whirly Fizzle: Not sure whether to jiRA IT. yOU THINK FULL SHADOWS +ao IS TOO HIGH FOR A gtx 750? (oops caps, too lazy to edit)
[2014/09/25 15:40] Lucia Nightfire: WHAT?
[2014/09/25 15:40] Whirly Fizzle: :P
[2014/09/25 15:40] Lucia Nightfire: lol
[2014/09/25 15:40] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): I DONT KNOW BUT IT CANNOT HURT :P
[2014/09/25 15:40] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): Speak up whirly
[2014/09/25 15:41] Jenna Felton: you can even really shoot here, the next person is 140m away :)
[2014/09/25 15:42] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): i think i can shoot something that far
[2014/09/25 15:43] Bluezy Bleac: it's not that hard tankMaster just make sure you are stable and got a proper scope
[2014/09/25 15:44] Jenna Felton: watch out your recoil :)
[2014/09/25 15:44] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): sight picture , breathing, squeze the trigger
[2014/09/25 15:45] Baker Linden: How's group ban stuff?
[2014/09/25 15:45] Baker Linden: worthwhile?
[2014/09/25 15:45] Baker Linden: working?
[2014/09/25 15:45] Whirly Fizzle: Totally!
[2014/09/25 15:45] kyleetehkitty: Very worthwhile
[2014/09/25 15:46] Caleb Linden: any success stories?
[2014/09/25 15:46] Whirly Fizzle: WE don't have it in a FS release yet. Hopefully soon. Lots have been requesting it.
[2014/09/25 15:46] kyleetehkitty: Banning known abusers of group chat not intended for spammy advertising
[2014/09/25 15:47] Caleb Linden: i am curious about the extend of a typical ban list
[2014/09/25 15:47] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): i do have my repo with it, but its not up to date do to memshine merge issue that i gave up on
[2014/09/25 15:47] Caleb Linden: how many people we would talk about who are banned per group
[2014/09/25 15:47] Jenna Felton: we had an annoyng someone in a group i was in who posted few days kinda every minute a strange messsage. I think they were banned with thie new function. The group chat is now clean from that spammer

[2014/09/25 15:49] Whirly Fizzle: 4500 total bans in groups?
[2014/09/25 15:49] arton Rotaru: 4500 who hate Baker now lol
[2014/09/25 15:49] Caleb Linden: nice idea
[2014/09/25 15:49] Baker Linden: lol right?
[2014/09/25 15:50] Duckie Dickins: yeah your typical ad bots....people who ask if anyone can loan them 300 L$ so they can pay their rent.....etc
[2014/09/25 15:50] Nal (nalates.urriah): Baker can you send all the baned people a limp of coal for Christmas?
[2014/09/25 15:50] Baker Linden: yeah, looks like 4500 overall
[2014/09/25 15:50] Rex Cronon: i mean 1000$L
[2014/09/25 15:50] Whirly Fizzle: Cool!
[2014/09/25 15:50] Nal (nalates.urriah): lump^
[2014/09/25 15:50] Baker Linden: I just did a count on the table itself
[2014/09/25 15:50] Rex Cronon: ok. group donation. lol
[2014/09/25 15:50] Baker Linden: I'll send them a limp lump of coal
[2014/09/25 15:50] Baker Linden: even better!
[2014/09/25 15:50] Jenna Felton: make the group entry fee a personal value, different for every resident?
[2014/09/25 15:50] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): To the corn field with them!!!
[2014/09/25 15:50] Whirly Fizzle: Haha was just gonna say the Cornfield
[2014/09/25 15:51] Rex Cronon: imo fines r way better than the cornfield:)
[2014/09/25 15:52] Caleb Linden: agreed
[2014/09/25 15:52] Jenna Felton: or sendin spam message costs a fee when the group administrator hits a button, the money is taken from the resident lindens :)
[2014/09/25 15:52] Inara Breen: Send them to the cornfield and people will start whacking them with planks of wood - or worse - nowadays ...
[2014/09/25 15:52] arton Rotaru: can't take money from a naked guy
[2014/09/25 15:52] Whirly Fizzle: lol the original Cornfield was a place everyone wanted to see. people would be bad just to get there
[2014/09/25 15:53] Rex Cronon: community service? lol
[2014/09/25 15:53] Caleb Linden: lol
[2014/09/25 15:53] Caleb Linden: cleaning up the cornfield
[2014/09/25 15:53] Jenna Felton: you do not need cornfield as a sim
[2014/09/25 15:53] Bluezy Bleac: I've been harvesting corn and wheat and such all month
[2014/09/25 15:54] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): Oh go milk a goat.
[2014/09/25 15:54] Jenna Felton: just make a resident to unable to send IM, or use inventory or teleport unless by invite and they will feel very like in cornfield
[2014/09/25 15:54] Bluezy Bleac: well I do that too and will in about 5 hours :-)
[2014/09/25 15:54] Rex Cronon: in some online games griefers can't talk...
[2014/09/25 15:55] Duckie Dickins: I spent over 2 hours archeage for stealing 1000 pieces of corn.....you can't access any of your abilities.....you can't log out either or the timer doesn't go down.
[2014/09/25 15:55] Lucia Nightfire: in SL2 hopefully non-paying accts will have limited resource usage
[2014/09/25 15:55] Duckie Dickins: in archeage
[2014/09/25 15:56] Duckie Dickins: I doubt that would happen
[2014/09/25 15:56] Duckie Dickins: Margithe is a free account and a content creator.
[2014/09/25 15:57] Jenna Felton: that will only work when the abilities you gain when you are paying resident are special and not needed every day
[2014/09/25 15:57] Duckie Dickins: actually I know of quite a few content creators who aren't premium members..
[2014/09/25 15:57] Jenna Felton: like access to special sims or probably building up experiences or even uploading mesh stuff
[2014/09/25 15:58] Lucia Nightfire: if it isn't in the hands of LL then it should be in teh hands of land owners
[2014/09/25 15:58] Rex Cronon: i am not premium either
[2014/09/25 15:58] arton Rotaru: will there be land ?
[2014/09/25 15:58] Jenna Felton: when you have to download special software and learn it and make effort and then you are stil unable to do importtant tasks, than it will scare people away
[2014/09/25 15:58] Jenna Felton: especially when they expect a "better SL"
[2014/09/25 15:59] Duckie Dickins: you mean like competing in the mesh market? lol
[2014/09/25 15:59] Jenna Felton: where they get almost everything the same if premium or basic
[2014/09/25 15:59] Lucia Nightfire: a better SL still run on the same management and skeleton crew doesn't leave me with high expectations
[2014/09/25 15:59] Jenna Felton: (in not so bettter SL 1)
[2014/09/25 16:00] Baker Linden: okay everyone, I have to run. Have a great weekend, and thanks for coming today!
[2014/09/25 16:00] Inara Breen: Thanks, Baker!

[2014/09/25 16:00] Jenna Felton: thank you Baker .) have a good weekend too, and everyone too
[2014/09/25 16:00] Whirly Fizzle: Ty Lindens
[2014/09/25 16:01] Margithe: if it wasn't for free accounts i'd never be here...
[2014/09/25 16:01] Lucia Nightfire: later
[2014/09/25 16:01] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Thank you, Caleb.
[2014/09/25 16:01] Nal (nalates.urriah): THx Lindens bye all
[2014/09/25 16:01] Margithe: yus, see ya next week!
[2014/09/25 16:01] arton Rotaru: bye
[2014/09/25 16:01] Duckie Dickins: honestly I think most of the advancements in SL2 will be under the hood that you won't see like scalability and back end performance. Some of it will translate to a better user experience but I think they had to sort of reinvent the wheel without taking the wheels off the vehicle with SL1 to get it to scale better
[2014/09/25 16:01] Rex Cronon: tc all those leaving
[2014/09/25 16:01] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): tc caleb
[2014/09/25 16:01] Caleb Linden: ciao baker. we also ran out of time.
[2014/09/25 16:01] Caleb Linden: thank you all!
[2014/09/25 16:01] Inara Breen: ciao, all
[2014/09/25 16:02] Inara Breen: Thanks, Caleb!
[2014/09/25 16:02] Rex Cronon: tc caleb
