[2014/10/09 15:01] Nal (nalates.urriah): Hi Yuzuru
[2014/10/09 15:01] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, TankMaster.
[2014/10/09 15:01] Rex Cronon: i "love" scripts that talk on channel 0 soooo much:)
[2014/10/09 15:01] Jenna Felton: hello Maestro, Kenny, Inara
[2014/10/09 15:01] Jenna Felton: sorry
[2014/10/09 15:01] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): np
[2014/10/09 15:01] Jenna Felton: actually that is a protest
[2014/10/09 15:01] Kennylex Luckless: Hia all
[2014/10/09 15:01] Jenna Felton: why i can not detect the group id of another resident
[2014/10/09 15:02] Rex Cronon: its ok. i justhope it won't do that every 5 seconds. lol
[2014/10/09 15:02] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, Kennylex.
[2014/10/09 15:02] Rex Cronon: hi kennylex
[2014/10/09 15:02] Jenna Felton: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlGetObjectDetails
[2014/10/09 15:02] Inara Breen: Hi, Jenna, Rex, all.
[2014/10/09 15:02] Rex Cronon: hi inara
[2014/10/09 15:02] Jenna Felton: it does not give me the group ID of the resident...
[2014/10/09 15:03] Jenna Felton: would be cool if it could. Had to stop a project because of that :)
[2014/10/09 15:03] Rex Cronon: i don't think it can detect that unless it happens to belong to the active group of the resident?
[2014/10/09 15:03] Kennylex Luckless: I did see that LL was looking for folks again.
[2014/10/09 15:03] Jenna Felton: it had not tell me my group too
[2014/10/09 15:03] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): I think there were privacy concerns around returning the group id of avatars...
[2014/10/09 15:04] Jenna Felton: OBJECT_GROUP 7 Gets the prim's group key.
If id is an avatar, a NULL_KEY is returned.[1]
[2014/10/09 15:04] Jenna Felton: oops, meeting time
[2014/10/09 15:04] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yep!
[2014/10/09 15:04] Jenna Felton: ok
[2014/10/09 15:04] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Let's get started
[2014/10/09 15:04] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Server_Beta_User_Group#Agenda
[2014/10/09 15:05] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): no simon today?
[2014/10/09 15:05] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, Monty!
[2014/10/09 15:05] arton Rotaru: Caleb seems thirsty^^
[2014/10/09 15:05] Caleb Linden: very
[2014/10/09 15:05] Monty Linden: hello
[2014/10/09 15:05] Kennylex Luckless: Naaa, only cool Lindens today.
[2014/10/09 15:05] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Simon might be busy.. however we have a different special guest today
[2014/10/09 15:05] Monty Linden: simon on vacation today....
[2014/10/09 15:06] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): heya monty!
[2014/10/09 15:06] Caleb Linden: Durschtich
[2014/10/09 15:06] Rex Cronon: greetings monty
[2014/10/09 15:06] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): ahh, i take it he wont be on tomorrow?
[2014/10/09 15:06] arton Rotaru: lol
[2014/10/09 15:06] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): let's get through the updates, first..
[2014/10/09 15:06] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): The main channel go the maintenance project that was previously on the RCs
[2014/10/09 15:07] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): the only change was a bug fix related to skill gaming regions
[2014/10/09 15:07] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): there was nothing new for the main three RC channels, so they weren't rolled this week
[2014/10/09 15:07] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): RC Snack, however, was rolled to get the change that went into the main channel
[2014/10/09 15:07] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): and RC snack has grown since last week; it's now up to about 270 regions
[2014/10/09 15:08] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): mostly mainland
[2014/10/09 15:08] Kennylex Luckless: How can I see what areas is using CDN now?
[2014/10/09 15:08] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Look for "Second Life RC Snack" in "about second life"
[2014/10/09 15:08] Duckie Dickins: I mentioned on tuesday that most of the blake sea people were unaware of the move of those regions to snack and were blaming region crossing issues about it.
[2014/10/09 15:09] Kennylex Luckless: Oh, so simple I feel a bit extra stupid today :-)
[2014/10/09 15:09] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): some example regions are listed in the SBUG wiki page
[2014/10/09 15:09] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): or in "About Firestorm" :P
[2014/10/09 15:09] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): sure
[2014/10/09 15:10] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): siman! XD
[2014/10/09 15:10] Whirly Fizzle: Short vacation then ;)
[2014/10/09 15:10] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, Simon.
[2014/10/09 15:10] Simon Linden: Hello everyone
[2014/10/09 15:10] Duckie Dickins: a working vacation. :P
[2014/10/09 15:10] Rex Cronon: hi simon
[2014/10/09 15:10] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Also.. simon's group chat changes went to some of the group chat backend hosts
[2014/10/09 15:10] Kennylex Luckless: Go to veccation now....
[2014/10/09 15:11] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): we expect the rest of the hosts to get the update sometime next week
[2014/10/09 15:11] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): (that's the same version we used in the group chat pile-on last week)
[2014/10/09 15:12] Whirly Fizzle: What day did that happen? We did wonder if FSE had the fix because chat lag disappeared for a few days, but then it came back heh. Could be just coincidence though.
[2014/10/09 15:12] Margithe: that was just me chatting less.
[2014/10/09 15:13] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): It's only on a fraction of them now, and each deploy happened on a different day
[2014/10/09 15:13] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): (as I recall..)
[2014/10/09 15:13] Rex Cronon: we have a solution! folks, please chat less so that there is less chat lag;)
[2014/10/09 15:13] arton Rotaru: but you got some results from the test, which made you deploy the changes?
[2014/10/09 15:13] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): and dont join groups you arent interested in :P
[2014/10/09 15:13] Monty Linden: vwls r vry xpnssv
[2014/10/09 15:14] Simon Linden: what's the exact group name for that, Whirly?
[2014/10/09 15:14] Duckie Dickins: actually it's best if you don't use groups at all
[2014/10/09 15:14] Whirly Fizzle: Firestorm support English
[2014/10/09 15:15] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Arton, I think it was more that we didn't find disastrous results
[2014/10/09 15:15] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): with the SBUG test
[2014/10/09 15:15] arton Rotaru: oki
[2014/10/09 15:15] Margithe: i've had an interesting thing happen yesterday- local chat timed out (what was sent never showed up) but i didn't lose connection, and thus missed a bit of local chat like it never happened.
[2014/10/09 15:15] Simon Linden: No, it's not yet, Whirly
[2014/10/09 15:15] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): even though we had a lot of chat spam, it's still nothing like the main grid
[2014/10/09 15:15] Whirly Fizzle: Okay ta
[2014/10/09 15:15] Rex Cronon: if groupg with over 1000 logged-in users were charged...
[2014/10/09 15:15] arton Rotaru: indeed
[2014/10/09 15:15] Rex Cronon: groups*
[2014/10/09 15:16] Margithe: the most useful group is also one of the biggest.. builders brewery, anyone?
[2014/10/09 15:16] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): thats no where as active as FSE
[2014/10/09 15:16] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): What is "SBUG"?
[2014/10/09 15:16] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Server Beta User Group
[2014/10/09 15:16] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): this meeting :)
[2014/10/09 15:16] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Ah.
[2014/10/09 15:17] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): I see. I forget it..
[2014/10/09 15:17] Duckie Dickins: Not your department but has any word filter in about security updates for the wiki so it can be unlocked for editing?
[2014/10/09 15:17] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): No worries
[2014/10/09 15:17] Duckie Dickins: grid status report was 2 days ago that issues were still pending
[2014/10/09 15:17] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yes, that's being worked on, Duckie
[2014/10/09 15:18] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): editing the wiki is overrated :P
[2014/10/09 15:18] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): By another department.. so I don't have an ETA for you
[2014/10/09 15:18] Whirly Fizzle: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2014/10/07/post2378/ isn't resolved yet
[2014/10/09 15:19] Duckie Dickins: I'm also still rooting for BUG-1786 to get higher priority. :D Next week I will have signs...
[2014/10/09 15:20] Margithe: i wish we could even comment on it.
[2014/10/09 15:21] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yeah, that one is annoying
[2014/10/09 15:22] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): So, we've been talking about the CDN in recent weeks, to speed up texture and mesh asset fetching
[2014/10/09 15:22] Simon Linden: and it's a pain to fix too
[2014/10/09 15:22] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): this week we have a special guest to talk about the other side of things
[2014/10/09 15:22] Duckie Dickins: yay!
[2014/10/09 15:23] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Monty is here to talk about 'project drano' changes in the viewer
[2014/10/09 15:23] Whirly Fizzle: \o/
[2014/10/09 15:23] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Monty, what's new?
[2014/10/09 15:23] Kennylex Luckless: Wee!
[2014/10/09 15:23] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): i need to get with Monty to do some testing, my pings to the CDN URL hasn't been great
[2014/10/09 15:23] Kennylex Luckless: Weeee!
[2014/10/09 15:23] Monty Linden: So, the next step in the HTTP work is getting ready for release.
[2014/10/09 15:23] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Good News!
[2014/10/09 15:23] Rex Cronon: drano? the liquid plumber stuff?
[2014/10/09 15:23] Monty Linden: The next viewer adds HTTP pipelining support to mesh and texture fetches.
[2014/10/09 15:24] Duckie Dickins: I think so
[2014/10/09 15:24] Monty Linden: This allows multiple asset requests to be issued without waiting for intervening responses from the server.
[2014/10/09 15:24] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): what about inventory fetching?
[2014/10/09 15:24] Monty Linden: And it goes very far towards making client-to-server ping time irrelevant
[2014/10/09 15:24] Monty Linden: in throughput metrics.
[2014/10/09 15:25] Monty Linden: It's a huge step on its own making our services perform as well as they can.
[2014/10/09 15:25] Monty Linden: Combined with CDN it's even better.
[2014/10/09 15:25] Gibson Firehawk: its wicked with CDN
[2014/10/09 15:26] Nal (nalates.urriah): Will this be a project viewer?
[2014/10/09 15:26] Monty Linden: I won't mention specific numbers but a region can show up in a very few seconds depending.
[2014/10/09 15:26] Monty Linden: Right now, we plan on skipping the project viewer stage.
[2014/10/09 15:26] Monty Linden: We're going out the door once it passes QA (maestro heading that up).
[2014/10/09 15:26] Nal (nalates.urriah): No RC?
[2014/10/09 15:27] Lucia Nightfire: I'm still not seeing major improvements with CDN alone. In fact since those other regions were added, its back to normal performance imo.
[2014/10/09 15:27] Monty Linden: RC but not project
[2014/10/09 15:27] Nal (nalates.urriah): Nice.
[2014/10/09 15:27] Monty Linden: And inventory...
[2014/10/09 15:27] Monty Linden: As a bit of example programming, I did some work on the inventory
[2014/10/09 15:27] Monty Linden: fetch code in the viewer. The bit that, among other things,
[2014/10/09 15:28] Monty Linden: populates the inventory floater initially.
[2014/10/09 15:28] Monty Linden: Converted it over to the new HTTP system, reduced
[2014/10/09 15:28] Monty Linden: the number of connections it uses, made it use what is left for
[2014/10/09 15:28] Monty Linden: s/for/more/
[2014/10/09 15:29] Monty Linden: effectively, and the result was kind of surprising.
[2014/10/09 15:29] Monty Linden: Again, won't mention numbers but I really was startled the first few
[2014/10/09 15:29] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): just ask whirly :P
[2014/10/09 15:29] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): whispers: it's 10x faster
[2014/10/09 15:29] Duckie Dickins: Push it out the door so tank can get busy. :P
[2014/10/09 15:29] Monty Linden: times I ran with a clear cache and 100K inventory items.
[2014/10/09 15:29] Whirly Fizzle: Can I give my results? lol
[2014/10/09 15:29] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): well, in one test, it was 10x faster for me :)
[2014/10/09 15:30] Monty Linden: Whirly: sure
[2014/10/09 15:30] Whirly Fizzle: 105k inventory, times to fetch......
[2014/10/09 15:30] Whirly Fizzle: Default Release: Second Life 3.7.16 (294015) Sep 10 2014 11:08:26 (Second Life Release)

  Session 1: 16 mins 28 secs
  Session 2: 17 mins 53 secs
  Session 3: 17 mins 18 secs
  Session 4: 17 mins 51 secs

 HTTP: Second Life 3.7.17 (294571) Sep 26 2014 12:32:36 (Second Life Release)

Session 1: 2 mins 29 secs (I literally had a holy shit moment here lol)
  Session 2: 2 mins 17 secs
  Session 3: 2 mins 11 secs
  Session 4: 2 mins 27 secs
[2014/10/09 15:30] Monty Linden: I just don't want to overpromise
[2014/10/09 15:30] Rex Cronon: 17 minutes??
[2014/10/09 15:30] Whirly Fizzle: Just a tad faster.......
[2014/10/09 15:30] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): she is in europe, so that might make it take longer
[2014/10/09 15:30] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Also, this is without any cached inventory, right Whirly?
[2014/10/09 15:30] Whirly Fizzle: Sure!
[2014/10/09 15:31] Whirly Fizzle: Manual delete of cache folder before each session
[2014/10/09 15:31] Whirly Fizzle: It was unbelieveable
[2014/10/09 15:31] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): good good
[2014/10/09 15:31] Whirly Fizzle: Settings on defaults too
[2014/10/09 15:32] Rex Cronon: whirly. can't u get down to 50k?
[2014/10/09 15:32] Monty Linden: Maestro has supplied links to viewer installers.
[2014/10/09 15:32] Duckie Dickins: does that mean no more hatemongering directed at people with large inventories for lagging the grid?
[2014/10/09 15:32] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yes, there's a link to the viewer installer under 'interesting stuff'
[2014/10/09 15:32] Monty Linden: I'm calling these experimental but I believe they're project viewer or better quality.
[2014/10/09 15:32] Duckie Dickins: I can crack open that 50,000 texture pack I got in 2006 and actually keep them in my inventory now. :P
[2014/10/09 15:32] Gibson Firehawk: there is a bug that Whirly might be able to assit in finding the number...its where some people with very large inventories crash at login...but dont if HTTP inventory is off.....i have a frfiend that suffers from that one constatnly with a 200k inventory...wondering if that bug is fixed in the pipeline viewer
[2014/10/09 15:33] arton Rotaru: where are those links pls
[2014/10/09 15:33] Lucia Nightfire: you can still hatemonger for resize scripts in every prim or constant updates from moving mesh tails, heh
[2014/10/09 15:33] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Server_Beta_User_Group#Interesting_Stuff
[2014/10/09 15:33] arton Rotaru: ah got it
[2014/10/09 15:33] arton Rotaru: thx
[2014/10/09 15:33] Rex Cronon: not all rezise scripts r equal
[2014/10/09 15:33] Margithe: well, if we get custom bones, tail updates would be just a distant memory :P
[2014/10/09 15:33] Lucia Nightfire: they don't need to be in every prim either, Rex
[2014/10/09 15:33] Monty Linden: Gibson: no idea, do you have a jira reference?
[2014/10/09 15:33] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): How can I count the speed of loading inventry and report it?
[2014/10/09 15:34] Gibson Firehawk: i call upon Whirly's powers to help find it:P
[2014/10/09 15:34] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yuzuru, what I did was...
[2014/10/09 15:34] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): 1) delete my inventory cache file, which was named something like [agent_id].inv.gz
[2014/10/09 15:34] Rex Cronon: r things better if u put all resize scripts in the root?
[2014/10/09 15:34] Whirly Fizzle: Gibson that problem usually happens if they have a really flat inventory structure (plus its large) and they have a slow system/connection or they have something wrong with their inventory like multiple system folders (20 trash folders for example) or they have a stupid number of duplicated calling cards
[2014/10/09 15:34] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): 2) login
[2014/10/09 15:34] Lucia Nightfire: you only need one resize script per object
[2014/10/09 15:35] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): 3) Note these two times in the viewer's SecondLife.log:
[2014/10/09 15:35] Whirly Fizzle: Theres a few JIRAs for it... finding.....
[2014/10/09 15:35] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): 2014-10-08T23:00:22Z INFO: idle_startup: Inventory
2014-10-08T23:25:38Z INFO: LLInventoryModelFetchDescendentsResponder::httpSuccess: Inventory fetch completed
[2014/10/09 15:35] Rex Cronon: nope. sometimes u need one for each prim
[2014/10/09 15:35] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): and the difference in time is what I measured as 'inventory fetch time'
[2014/10/09 15:35] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): i had 440 trash folders and could login just fine.
[2014/10/09 15:35] Lucia Nightfire: Rex, we now have llScaleByFactor()
[2014/10/09 15:35] Lucia Nightfire: no need for oen per prim
[2014/10/09 15:35] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Thank you, Maestro. I will try it.
[2014/10/09 15:35] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Okay, good luck Yuzuru
[2014/10/09 15:36] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): By the way Yuzuru, in the release viewer, that 'completed' message doesn't exist.. but there is a similar "LLInventoryModelFetchDescendentsResponder::httpSuccess: Inventory fetch completed" message that you can use
[2014/10/09 15:36] Whirly Fizzle: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-5318 this one had duplicated CCs
[2014/10/09 15:36] Rex Cronon: imo it depends on what u want to do lucy
[2014/10/09 15:36] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): I see.
[2014/10/09 15:37] Lucia Nightfire: a resize script per prim is not necessary
[2014/10/09 15:37] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Another change in the drano viewer is that mesh fetches are no longer throttled to 100 meshes/second
[2014/10/09 15:37] Whirly Fizzle: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-7327 has slow system plus flat inventory
[2014/10/09 15:37] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): This doesn't help much in the non-CDN case, since the sim throttled mesh requests,
[2014/10/09 15:37] Rex Cronon: so now inventory fetching should be very fast. right?
[2014/10/09 15:37] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): but against the CDN, you can fetch at a much higher rate without the viewer-side throttle
[2014/10/09 15:38] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Apparently so, Rex!
[2014/10/09 15:38] Monty Linden: Rex: while I was going for reliable, fast seems to have been a useful side-effect.
[2014/10/09 15:39] Rex Cronon: monty. maybe u should try to optimize the code for group chat;)
[2014/10/09 15:39] Jenna Felton: than CDN server crashes because of too many mesh requests :)
[2014/10/09 15:39] Whirly Fizzle: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-6755 has a 750k very flat inventory lol
[2014/10/09 15:39] arton Rotaru: bannhammer
[2014/10/09 15:39] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): another way to get faster inventory fetching is to have less stuff to fetch :)
[2014/10/09 15:40] Whirly Fizzle: She would be a good test for your viewer Monty heh
[2014/10/09 15:40] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): /me deletes maestro's inventory to make more room for his
[2014/10/09 15:40] Lucia Nightfire: people should be charged more for wanting to maintain excessive sized inventories...
[2014/10/09 15:40] Monty Linden: she's on my list, believe me  :-)
[2014/10/09 15:40] Monty Linden: /me is of other opinions on this
[2014/10/09 15:41] Monty Linden: if you want 20 walk-in shoe closets, we should give them to you
[2014/10/09 15:41] Monty Linden: :)
[2014/10/09 15:41] Whirly Fizzle: Yay
[2014/10/09 15:41] Rex Cronon: if only it was easier to work with inventory:(
[2014/10/09 15:41] Monty Linden: that is a problem, yes
[2014/10/09 15:41] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): easier than operating a forklift, sir.
[2014/10/09 15:41] Rex Cronon: like having a preview for those objects that can have a preview...
[2014/10/09 15:42] Whirly Fizzle: Preview images would be awesome
[2014/10/09 15:42] Rex Cronon: right now u have to rez thing
[2014/10/09 15:42] Lucia Nightfire: I'd liek to preview my lagger collection , heh
[2014/10/09 15:42] Margithe: i'd love some kind of optional, museum-inventory where i could put stuff away. so they are accesible the odd day i need them, but not necessarily loaded every time i log in.
[2014/10/09 15:42] Duckie Dickins: that would start a bad trend I fear
[2014/10/09 15:42] Margithe: kinda like boxing, but viewer-supported
[2014/10/09 15:42] Monty Linden: later/lazy loading is something we should look into, I think
[2014/10/09 15:42] Rex Cronon: safe box margithe?
[2014/10/09 15:43] Margithe: i was thinking like boxing up textures etc
[2014/10/09 15:43] Lucia Nightfire: safe boxes just ask for inventory loss cases, heh
[2014/10/09 15:43] Margithe: right. boxing things up is rather unreliable
[2014/10/09 15:43] Rex Cronon: monthy why not let users decide how much of inventory should be loaded on login?
[2014/10/09 15:44] Monty Linden: everyone should have 20 closets and a valet to keep them organized
[2014/10/09 15:44] Kennylex Luckless: I has to go, take care and have fun.
[2014/10/09 15:44] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): zpack
[2014/10/09 15:44] Rex Cronon: tc kennylex
[2014/10/09 15:44] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): because users will inevitably make an unwise decision.
[2014/10/09 15:44] Rex Cronon: depends on users
[2014/10/09 15:44] Monty Linden: that ^^
[2014/10/09 15:44] Whirly Fizzle: I use that all the time Tank. Its reliable, unlike manual boxing up
[2014/10/09 15:44] Monty Linden: inventory fetching on demand can be quick
[2014/10/09 15:45] Monty Linden: time to take advantage of that
[2014/10/09 15:45] Margithe: i'd see it as, keeping things on my shelves, versus keeping things in storage. if i want to fetch something from the storage, it takes a while longer, but it's only stuff i use often that i need in proximity.
[2014/10/09 15:46] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): oh right, its zdrop to move items from a folder to a rezzed prim...
[2014/10/09 15:46] Whirly Fizzle: Ya
[2014/10/09 15:46] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): youd think id remember that as i created it :P
[2014/10/09 15:47] Whirly Fizzle: Its okay, I made a wiki page :P http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_zdrop_ztake_mtake
[2014/10/09 15:48] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): i have a question, why does the NewFileAgentInventory cap charge me for updating wearables? :O
[2014/10/09 15:48] Rex Cronon: zdrop does what?
[2014/10/09 15:48] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): L$10 per upload.
[2014/10/09 15:48] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): if you are on FS, just type it in the local chat
[2014/10/09 15:48] Monty Linden: what happened to [a-l]take?
[2014/10/09 15:49] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): z for zwagoth :P
[2014/10/09 15:49] Rex Cronon: oh. firestorm specific tool
[2014/10/09 15:49] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): emerald tool. :P
[2014/10/09 15:49] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): . ztake was created for some work he was doing back in emerald with megaprims
[2014/10/09 15:50] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): i modified it and made it more user friendly, then added in zdrop
[2014/10/09 15:50] Jenna Felton: you could probably have preview images in your inventory folders that are kept placlly as bmp pr png files or however, in the viewer and are assigned to the inventory folders by some way
[2014/10/09 15:50] Rex Cronon: too bad lsl can't work with user inventory:(
[2014/10/09 15:50] Monty Linden: Cinder: no idea. maestro?
[2014/10/09 15:50] Jenna Felton: than the viewer could load them from the local repository and display
[2014/10/09 15:51] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): the only reason for the "copy key" button on our build floater is for those functions
[2014/10/09 15:51] Jenna Felton: and you would not waste the asset servers for them
[2014/10/09 15:52] Jenna Felton: (nice, my chat log not scrolled up so i am too late with discussion)
[2014/10/09 15:52] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): i was playing with NewFileAgentInventory as a replacement for the udp asset upload method, but it was getting expensive.
[2014/10/09 15:52] Duckie Dickins: hate when that happens
[2014/10/09 15:55] Monty Linden: We appreciate your business, Cinder...
[2014/10/09 15:55] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): lol
[2014/10/09 15:55] Rex Cronon: so. when should we expect the new inventory fetching to become part of the oficiall viewer??
[2014/10/09 15:56] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Well, first it has to enter RC
[2014/10/09 15:56] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): which may or may not happen with this build (it's to be decided..)
[2014/10/09 15:56] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): then after it's in RC a while, and no terrible bugs show up, and the crash rates and such look good, it may go to the release channel
[2014/10/09 15:57] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): I'm not familiar with NewFileAgentInventory, Cinder
[2014/10/09 15:57] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): cant you do the testing on the beta grid where you get free $?
[2014/10/09 15:58] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): i assume it's the http cap for wearable updates.
[2014/10/09 15:58] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): when you say updating a wearable.. are you talking about operations like changing the dimensions of your shirt?
[2014/10/09 15:58] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): yes
[2014/10/09 15:58] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): or saving a shape.
[2014/10/09 15:58] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): I can't seem to reproduce
[2014/10/09 15:58] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): it's unused in the official viewer.
[2014/10/09 15:59] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): oh
[2014/10/09 15:59] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): sl viewer uses the legacy udp asset upload.
[2014/10/09 15:59] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Perhaps it's not used because it charges you unnecessarily?
[2014/10/09 15:59] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Perhaps it should be disabled?
[2014/10/09 16:00] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): yeah, i was just curious because it's still live.
[2014/10/09 16:00] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): all the other asset uploads use a cap.
[2014/10/09 16:00] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yeah, I don't know.. that could be an oversight of sorts
[2014/10/09 16:01] Monty Linden: /me is surprised but that isn't my area
[2014/10/09 16:01] Monty Linden: it may be that ais3 will supplant it - not certain
[2014/10/09 16:01] Jenna Felton: can the function be used in some alternative way ?
[2014/10/09 16:02] Monty Linden: all our functions can be used in alternative ways, that's where the problems begin
[2014/10/09 16:02] Cinder Biscuits (cinder.roxley): yeah, about my SEC.... :D
[2014/10/09 16:03] arton Rotaru: it can be used to charge 10L$ for saving a shape ^^
[2014/10/09 16:03] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): I think it's meant to be used for uploads which typically charge L$10
[2014/10/09 16:03] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): maybe it should outright refuse to save other types, or something
[2014/10/09 16:03] Monty Linden: I'm sure the Cap is lovingly documented on the wiki...
[2014/10/09 16:04] Margithe: it's been great to see you all, but i got to go ! see you next week!
[2014/10/09 16:04] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yes, we're out of time
[2014/10/09 16:04] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): thanks for coming, everybody!
[2014/10/09 16:04] Jenna Felton: oh yes
[2014/10/09 16:04] Caleb Linden: see ya
[2014/10/09 16:04] Simon Linden: Thanks everyone for coming today - see you next time
[2014/10/09 16:04] Nal (nalates.urriah): Thanks everyone
[2014/10/09 16:04] arton Rotaru: yep, thax for the meeting and the HTTP Viewer
[2014/10/09 16:04] Whirly Fizzle: Ty Lindens
[2014/10/09 16:04] Duckie Dickins: Thanks for continuing to let us pester you. :D
[2014/10/09 16:04] Jenna Felton: thank you all for the meeting and have a great rest of the week and the weekend :)
[2014/10/09 16:04] Rex Cronon: tc maestro
[2014/10/09 16:04] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): have a good weekend everyone
[2014/10/09 16:04] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): you too
[2014/10/09 16:04] Rex Cronon: tc cleb
[2014/10/09 16:04] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Thank you, Maestro, Simon, Caleb and Monty.
[2014/10/09 16:04] Rex Cronon: tc caleb*
