- [2:32] Davy Linden: Today's agenda: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Thursday_Agenda
- [2:32] Opensource Obscure: a slightly off topic question before we start : any news about the Gesture Recognition project? Philip told it was going to be ready after summer
- [2:32] Opensource Obscure: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Gesture_Recognition
- [2:32] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [2:32] Louise Linden: I have no idea!
- [2:32] Davy Linden: I don't know anything about it, other than the project exists, sorry
- [2:32] Opensource Obscure: ok : ) let's go on with the agenda
- [2:33] Bofp Boyd: hello
- [2:33] Opensource Obscure: huge bugs list today
- [2:33] Louise Linden: First up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14377
- [2:33] Louise Linden: Run Multiple Threads on Apple causes texture loading delay or failure
- [2:34] Louise Linden: can we stop the sound spamming please?
- [2:34] Imaze Rhiano: sorry - I was testing bug https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14353
- [2:35] Skills Hak: hi
- [2:35] Louise Linden: ok, please feel free to add that to the agenda (if it's not already there!)
- [2:35] Ann Otoole: guess we need a Mac user for input on that one
- [2:35] Louise Linden: OK so has anyone experienced the multiple threads issue?
- [2:36] Imaze Rhiano: doesn't have Mac
- [2:36] Latif Khalifa: i'm on windows ...
- [2:36] Techwolf Lupindo: I'me on Linux
- [2:36] Melchizedek Blauvelt: XP here
- [2:36] Skills Hak: opensource is abusing lookat! ;)
- [2:36] Skills Hak: are you aware of that?
- [2:36] Louise Linden: well the qa team all have macs around, sio we can import and take a look
- [2:37] Davy Linden: ok
- [2:37] Louise Linden: so next then https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14044
- [2:37] Louise Linden: Show Updates followed by turning off the Volume rendering crashes the viewer
- [2:38] Louise Linden: unless you're running a second machine, i wouldn't advise testing that right now! ;)
- [2:38] Davy Linden: try to repro later / import is it does?
- [2:38] Davy Linden: if*
- [2:39] Louise Linden: yup that sounds like a good plan
- [2:39] Imaze Rhiano: doesn't crash for me
- [2:39] Louise Linden: if anyone does repro this, could they add their specs please?
- [2:39] Imaze Rhiano: oh... have additional steps...
- [2:39] Louise Linden: oh great! please add them! :D
- [2:40] Louise Linden: well not great. viewer crashing is never good...
- [2:40] Louise Linden: :s
- [2:41] Louise Linden: ok so next on the list https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-15563
- [2:41] Louise Linden: Client gives up before finishing to load full inventory due to packet loss
- [2:41] Simon Kline: i witnessed this recently on a slower machine in wireless
- [2:42] Simon Kline: i've got about 17000 items and it only showed about 15000 that session
- [2:42] Skills Hak: we get that in emerald support alot too
- [2:42] Simon Kline: i haven't had a chance to play around more with it to see what's going on yet.. packet loss etc.
- [2:43] Simon Kline: i'll see what i can find on the weekend and add it in if you like
- [2:43] Melchizedek Blauvelt: It happens to me a lot when I used up my bandwidth for the month
- [2:43] Davy Linden: the more information the better, simon, thanks
- [2:43] Skills Hak: definitely related to bandwidth settings yes
- [2:44] Ann Otoole: can't you just press ctrl-alt-L during fetch to simulate?
- [2:44] Latif Khalifa: what happened to WebFetchInventoryDescendants capability?
- [2:44] Imaze Rhiano: VWR-14044 - confirmed with Snowglobe 1.2.0 (2680) Aug 26 2009 20:14:10 (Snowglobe Test Build)
- [2:45] Louise Linden: OK lets see if changing bandwidth settings has any effect and see if we can get a little more information
- [2:45] Davy Linden: k
- [2:45] Louise Linden: connection info might be usefull too
- [2:46] Latif Khalifa: hopefully this will disappear when inventory switches over to CAPs which i beleive is the plan
- [2:47] Louise Linden: next up https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14162
- [2:47] Louise Linden: Camera sliders gone - No camera transition time
- [2:47] Skills Hak: we re-added that in emerald o.o
- [2:47] Skills Hak: alot of people asked for it
- [2:48] Latif Khalifa: this is more of a user experience /design issue rather than a bug
- [2:48] Louise Linden: they were taken out, this is a FR really, not a bug
- [2:48] Davy Linden: looks like this was a deliberate change, so it's either expected behaviour, or should be a feature request
- [2:48] Davy Linden: move to FR?
- [2:48] Louise Linden: please
- [2:48] Davy Linden: ok
- [2:49] Louise Linden: it might be worth adding how to access them from debug settings
- [2:49] NikoKito Aries: hi good day
- [2:49] Louise Linden: next up https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14091

- [2:52] Louise Linden: OK then, next is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-15604
- [2:52] Louise Linden: Viewer can receive extra root folders as inventory transfer
- [2:53] Skills Hak: >.>
- [2:53] Lonely Bluebird: Actually, sending root folders no longer works.
- [2:53] Skills Hak: yeah?
- [2:53] Davy Linden: NMI / is this still a problem?
- [2:54] Louise Linden: yeah, if we can find out which modded viewers were capable then we can investigate
- [2:55] Louise Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-15207
- [2:55] Louise Linden: Canceling Snapshot to Disk still triggers snapshot sound and animation.
- [2:55] Skills Hak: mhmm

- [2:56] Black Wood: Zabuton with Texture Change Cushion: japanesesit
- [2:57] Black Wood: Zabuton with Texture Change Cushion: japanesesit
- [2:57] Black Wood: Zabuton with Texture Change Cushion: japanesesit
- [2:57] Louise Linden: I think it's worth importing and having a look

- [2:58] Louise Linden: if anyone does repro can they ad their specs please? thanks
- [2:58] Louise Linden: next up: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-15168 HUD prim changes sometimes not shown if avatar is not in view
- [2:59] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [2:59] Louise Linden: has anyone seen this?
- [3:00] NikoKito Aries: yes to me any
- [3:00] Opensource Obscure: not exactly, but i saw something vaguely similar as in my comment
- [3:01] NikoKito Aries: i see avatar but not see
- [3:01] NikoKito Aries: (es->en) avatar i see but not see
- [3:01] Ann Otoole: i see odness. just cam way out and click your ao on/off
- [3:02] Ann Otoole: the scripts function but the texture is not changing
- [3:02] Louise Linden: Shall we import this and take a look? it could be related to the issues listed, but we'd need to take a good look
- [3:02] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:02] NikoKito Aries: ok
- [3:02] Louise Linden: next up: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14915 People Picker (Group Invites, Bans etc) doesn't work for all Names
- Created: 29/Jul/09 08:18 AM Updated: 12/Sep/09 06:36 AM
- [3:03] Skills Hak: ah short names
- [3:03] Skills Hak: like M linden
- [3:03] Skills Hak: same goes for people search
- [3:03] Trinity Coulter: it would be nice if you could just type a name in the people picker and it would verify, rather than having to do a search and wait
- [3:03] Ann Otoole: you need 3 chars for search to work
- [3:04] Trinity Coulter: especially when you are filling out an AR and its laggy
- [3:04] Louise Linden: OK, let's import this and go take a look
- [3:04] NikoKito Aries: se pueden poner comodines (*, ?) para la busqueda ?
- [3:04] NikoKito Aries: (es->en) You can put wildcards (*,?) for the search?
- [3:05] Skills Hak: i thought this is why M, Q and others picked a short name haha
- [3:05] Skills Hak: less random IMs
- [3:05] NikoKito Aries: ms fcil de recordar tambin
- [3:05] NikoKito Aries: (es->en) also easier to remember
- [3:05] Imaze Rhiano: at least in future - you shouldn't allow to create short named avatars
- [3:05] Ann Otoole: they could either stop allowing short names or check length and add wildcards to search
- [3:06] Louise Linden: please feel free to add those as FRs
- [3:06] Ann Otoole: Bo might get upset
- [3:06] Louise Linden: *if they are not there already....
- [3:06] Louise Linden: so next on the list https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14926 Avatar attachments are visible in mouselook when viewed through the water plane
- [3:06] Ann Otoole: ed will get mad
- [3:07] Davy Linden: this exists internally already
- [3:07] Davy Linden: I'll find it and link up
- [3:07] Louise Linden: ok great!
- [3:08] Louise Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14549 Script-state reverts when changing running-bit before save is complete
- [3:09] Imaze Rhiano: Confirmed - but I think that priority should be lowered - doesn't really break content or such and easily avoidable
- [3:09] Skills Hak: should be greyed out or something
- [3:09] Skills Hak: as soon as the user hits "save"
- [3:10] Imaze Rhiano: ya... grayed out until compiliation and save is done
- [3:10] Trinity Coulter: who is checking that while they are saving anyway?
- [3:10] Imaze Rhiano: agrees with trinity
- [3:10] Trinity Coulter: ADD scripters?
- [3:10] Imaze Rhiano: really... minor bug
- [3:10] Skills Hak: it happened to me once lol
- [3:10] Skills Hak: in a hurry
- [3:10] Skills Hak: but nvm yea
- [3:10] Louise Linden: OK, let's add this to out import list!
- [3:10] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:11] Louise Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14353 llStopSound restart the sound if using llSetSoundQueueing(TRUE)
- [3:11] Trinity Coulter: actually it makes sense
- [3:11] Imaze Rhiano: I wasn't able to confirm this one
- [3:11] Trinity Coulter: since the UUID of the item is probably saved with its state
- [3:11] Imaze Rhiano: sound was stopping when touching
- [3:13] Louise Linden: another one for the qa import list I think!
- [3:13] Davy Linden: k
- [3:14] Louise Linden: next up: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14266
- [3:14] Louise Linden: Debug Setting RenderAvatarMaxVisible not working
- [3:14] Skills Hak: isn't that in fact the treshold for impostor rendering?
- [3:14] Trinity Coulter: maybe it only works if you see avatars named Max
- [3:15] Skills Hak: then it would be expected behaviour
- [3:15] Ann Otoole: last time i was taking pictures of 80 bots it worked
- [3:15] Ann Otoole: got laggy :P
- [3:15] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [3:15] Louise Linden: hrm this has been reported on Win7, lets ask for more info and see if this affects any supported OSs
- [3:16] Davy Linden: comment suggests this is expected behaviour
- [3:16] Object: failed.:
- [3:16] Davy Linden: I'll find release notes and check
- [3:16] Louise Linden: ok great. if it is, then close it, if not NMI?
- [3:16] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:16] Object: failed.:
- [3:17] Object: failed.:
- [3:17] Louise Linden: next on the list https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14236 Gecko didn't render HTML <select> tag at correct position
- [3:18] Trinity Coulter: that sounds like a web design issue
- [3:18] Trinity Coulter: not a viewer issue
- [3:18] Black Wood: Zabuton with Texture Change Cushion: japanesesit
- [3:19] Techwolf Lupindo: Need to test that on webkit, but it hasn't been relised by LL yet as far as I know.
- [3:20] Davy Linden: the webpage has changed since this was reported. should we ask for new repro?
- [3:20] Louise Linden: yes please.
- [3:20] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:21] Trinity Coulter: it would be nice if the SL website would have a viewer-friendly mode
- [3:21] Ann Otoole: i have to drop. nice seeing everyone
- [3:22] Louise Linden: Thanks Ann
- [3:22] Louise Linden: next up is: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14208 1.23 - New camera preference "Camera view angle" affects scripted camera control.
- [3:23] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [3:23] Louise Linden: I'm thinking import, we can go and take a look
- [3:24] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:24] NikoKito Aries: ok
- [3:24] Louise Linden: NExt up: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14158 rendervolumeLODFactor not staying changed
- [3:25] Louise Linden: anyone experiencing this?
- [3:25] NikoKito Aries: I not
- [3:26] Skills Hak: me neither
- [3:27] Skills Hak: they must have crashed before saving the config or something
- [3:27] Bofp Boyd: yes it resets for me when i change the graphic settings
- [3:27] Skills Hak: yes true
- [3:27] Skills Hak: when you change object detail
- [3:27] Skills Hak: which is expected behaviour
- [3:28] Skills Hak: after all it's a debug setting
- [3:28] Techwolf Lupindo: Unfortually, that expected behivor now that LOD factor is tied to the graphics slider.
- [3:28] Techwolf Lupindo: ANd defaulted waaaay to low.
- [3:29] Louise Linden: OK we're going to go and see if this is expected behaviour. we'll comment on the jira when we find out!
- [3:29] Davy Linden: ok
- [3:29] Louise Linden: if it's not then we'll get it imported
- [3:29] Louise Linden: Right, that's all the time we have!
- [3:29] NikoKito Aries: Thanks
- [3:29] Davy Linden: thanks everyone
- [3:30] Skills Hak: thanks
- [3:30] NikoKito Aries: Thanks to You
