BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE

  • Currently in the works in the Brazilian Portuguese Web Localization component: XStreet localization tasks: 2nd loc cycle, QA, 3rd loc cycle.
  • In Viewer localization, we finished loc cycle 2 and are getting ready to conduct Localization QA in our Localization Central Island.

CHINESE

  • Thanks to our volunteer localizers Geneko Nemeth and Ken March, our 1.22 viewer is now available in Simplified Chinese.
  • We are currently trying to finalize loc cycle 1 for 1.23 viewer.

DANISH

Danish Viewer Localization Project is on the 1st loc cycle of 1.23. We hope to wrap up translation this week so we can start bug fixing next week and be in top form for RC3. Thanks, Ann and Flemming!

DUTCH

Thank you to all our Dutch localizers for translating, editing, testing and bug-fixing the Dutch Registration area. Dutch_Viewer_Localization_Project is kicking off right now that our volunteer translators have worked hard and collaboratively to produce the Dutch Second Life Glossary. As you can see, we are translating the entire viewer. The files are divided in 6 JIRA tickets and are eagerly awaiting your attention.

FRENCH

There are 4 components to the French Community Translation projects:

  • Translation of Knowledge Base Articles: We have already more than 50 KB pages translated into French! A big thank you to the French community translators for this amazing effort! Let's keep going! You will also see that our residents have been making some excellent instructional videos currently available in French on YouTube and soon to be integrated into the French KB.
  • French Articles.
  • A French web.
  • The Viewer Strings.

GERMAN

German KB Translation Project was the pilot of Linden Lab Community Translation project just mere 5 months ago! Not only has the Community Translations Project grown, but so has the German Knowledge Base.

  • Thank you to everyone who has been contributing to the refinement of the German viewer terminologyCT-91
  • Community Standards and System Requirements web page translations have been contributed by the Residents. Thank you!!!
  • We have also opened a new component for German: German Viewer Localization. You will see that currently there are 2 tasks that have to do with internationalization and localization testing. Big thanks to Zai Lynch, Torben Trautman, and Lore Lamont for the contributions to German viewer testing. Outstanding work, guys!!!! Also, many kind thanks to Zai Lynch for creating a wonderful Localization Central island for us! Great work, Zai!

HUNGARIAN

  • Hungarian community translation: CT-85 and VWR-5733. Many thanks to Princess Niven for leadership with this language! If you have already downloaded one of the recent RC's, you can see the Hungarian viewer in action already!

ITALIAN

  • After our brilliant Italian translators spent 2 months collaborating on the Italian glossary CT-126, we are now ready to start Italian_Viewer_Localization_Project. You will see that the tasks have been divided in 7 tasks and are eagerly awaiting your attention!

JAPANESE

POLISH

  • Giant thanks to our Polish community for taking the initiative to translate the 1.22 viewer fully into Polish: if you have not already, download the latest 1.22 RC, switch the language to Polish and enjoy! see here. We appreciate all the hard work by maciek marksman, Magnus Balczo and Malwina Dollinger!

RUSSIAN / UKRAINIAN

  • Russian and Ukrainian have also been added since the full viewer xml was submitted by Ian Kas and his Second Life Team. Here is the first JIRA for the project: VWR-8780. We had to fix issues that were causing that font not be displayed properly. The translation is now submitted to the translation branch and we look forward to having it live with 1.23.

SPANISH

TURKISH

  • Turkish community translation: CT-88 and VWR-2710. Thank you to Vixen Heron for starting the translation. We'd love to update the translation so, if you are Turkish and would like to help us make SL better for the Turkish users, please, sign up and come help! :)

MORE!!

  • Viewer internationalization test plan compiling JIRA is CT-81. The test is still open for contributions. Please, feel free to contribute!!! The JIRA was started with the French community but I urge anyone with knowledge of the Japanese, German, Chinese, Spanish viewer or languages like: Polish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, Hungarian, Turkish, to help us!!! Thank you in advance!!!
  • We are constantly collecting ad-hoc translations for Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and Dutch from our wonderful residents. So far, we got great support localizing login screen strings, Registration strings, the new viewer browser tutorial. If you speak these languages and want to do some translation work, please, contact us: Danica Linden and Lexie Linden would love to hear from you. :)
