[13:00] xstorm Radek: torley im in need of the multy help media player you had at one time do you still have any ?
[13:01] Nicholas Hawthorne: xD alex always goes away at the weriedest times
[13:01] Nicholas Hawthorne: wierdest*
[13:01] Torley Linden: xstorm, please give me more details so I can help?
[13:01] Torley Linden: Please send friendship requests to my alt, Torley Olmstead. Thanks! =)
[13:01] xstorm Radek: it was a youtube help player that you click on for your help tips
[13:01] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol is that av full for friends?
[13:02] Copperhead Atlas: So we can shoot questions of uhm any kind
[13:02] xstorm Radek: if i remember right
[13:02] Nicholas Hawthorne: anyone know where jon is?
[13:02] Torley Linden: Nicholas, yes, it's because my work avatar is focused on work, not so much socializing. :)
[13:02] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol
[13:03] Kate Linden: Hello :)
[13:03] Copperhead Atlas: hello
[13:03] Zai Lynch: oh hey kate =)
[13:03] Nicholas Hawthorne: hey kate
[13:03] Caryn Eleonara: hello
[13:03] Jeremy Linden knows where Jon is.
[13:03] Torley Linden: There are many times I'd like to sit (or fly) and chat but there is so much to do. A good time for many things in this world, fortunately.
[13:03] xstorm Radek: i like to have a inworld tips and hekp how too player for people i can no longer get the one i made to work
[13:03] Torley Linden: xstorm, the player I had... it was made by Geaven Gall. She sold an earlier version commercially, I'm not sure if the latest is up in her store. But well worth asking her.
[13:04] Nicholas Hawthorne: that's why you have an alt, so you can socialize outside of LL work xD
[13:04] Alexander9 Carver: back
[13:04] Mojito Sorbet: I have a wiki problem
[13:04] Arawn Spitteler notes a Padawan with Watermelon Light Sabers
[13:04] Caryn Eleonara: Arawn, I can't stay long, I am supposed to be greeting for MA from 1-3
[13:04] Zai Lynch: what kind of? @Mojito
[13:04] Mojito Sorbet: Go to http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Alt #Alt_Account
[13:04] Torley Linden: Nicholas, haha, and do other casual, totally unprofessional stuff.
[13:04] Mojito Sorbet: Then click the line about how long can an account be inactive
[13:04] Mojito Sorbet: it hangs for a while, then says the server reset
[13:04] Nicholas Hawthorne: like go around sims and take pictures O.O
[13:05] Torley Linden: Mojito, I just tried that... it appears to work for me.
[13:05] xstorm Radek: hi Kate :-)
[13:05] Torley Linden: Nicholas, oh, there's always, ALWAYS a deeper story to that. That's never purely for fun.
[13:05] Caryn Eleonara: I'm always taking pics
[13:05] Mojito Sorbet: Hmm. Ok, then can you tell me how long CAN an account be inacticve?
[13:05] Kate Linden: Hi xstorm
[13:05] Nicholas Hawthorne: xD
[13:05] Chester100 Static: so much lag
[13:05] Daniel Voyager: Hey Kate
[13:05] Zai Lynch: hm... it works for me... says: As long as you're in good standing with Linden Lab -- not delinquent with billing or otherwise in violation of the Community Standards and Terms of Service -- your Second Life account can remain inactive indefinitely. This means that your avatar and inventory will continue to be stored on our servers.
[13:05] s been inactive for an entire week, once, in the past two years
[13:05] Mojito Sorbet: Ok, great, tnx
[13:05] Zai Lynch: welcome =)
[13:05] Torley Linden: Sometimes it's graphics testing, other times it's researching locations for future publicity, other times it's to try out a cool creation... it's really an ongoing journal. Fun, but not only. And oh! Every now and then, WindLight settings testing. V3 shouldn't be too far away...
[13:05] Caryn Eleonara: actively, inactive?
[13:05] Daniel Voyager: hey Marianne
[13:06] Marianne McCann: Hiya
[13:06] Zai Lynch: heyas =)
[13:06] Arawn Spitteler: You should downgrade your account, if you're about to die
[13:06] Daniel Voyager: hey Jon :)
[13:06] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol
[13:06] Mojito Sorbet: Yes. It is for a friend of mine
[13:06] xstorm Radek: im trying to get a multy inworld wiki viewer to work and i still can not get it to work for more then one person at a time
[13:06] Jon Linden: hello everyone!
[13:06] Nicholas Hawthorne: hey jon :>)
[13:06] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol
[13:06] Sipo Honi: Torley, thanks for the Panorama Tutorial, it was good!
[13:06] Caryn Eleonara: Is that guy swimming in air?
[13:06] Torley Linden: Here's an example of one of the new settings: http://www.flickr.com/photos/torley/3791565468/ I watched Wild Palms and there are some Second Life parallels. The movie has Shakespearean tragedy written all over it but I'd highly recommend it.
[13:06] Niky Zenovka: Hello everyone
[13:07] Torley Linden: You're welcome Sipo! Panoramas is a good topic for knowledge to be shared... it's still fairly nascent. =)
[13:07] Nicholas Hawthorne: jon, didn't you make a plate for that av last week?
[13:07] Sipo Honi: I was taking pictures like crazy
[13:07] Jeremy Linden: xstorm, could you tell us a little more about this wiki viewer you're working on?
[13:07] Jon Linden: someone else made that, heh
[13:07] Arawn Spitteler: Is there some place to look, for information on how to Stream, or perform a mixed reality show? I've a nibble from the Lyre of Ur
[13:07] Marianne McCann: Hey Oliver!
[13:07] Caryn Eleonara: Hi Arawn.thanks for inviting me
[13:07] Oliver Szondi: Hiya Marianne!
[13:08] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol i thought you made a plate to wear, like jello on a plate
[13:08] Marianne McCann: An hi everyone!
[13:08] Oliver Szondi: Hiya Dan!
[13:08] Marianne McCann: Maaan, busy today
[13:08] Oliver Szondi: Hiya Troley!
[13:08] Spoon Soup: haii
[13:08] Torley Linden: Arawn, I might ask the people over @ http://treet.tv for guidance with that, they've a lot of experience, I think.
[13:08] Oliver Szondi: torley
[13:08] Oliver Szondi: dang
[13:08] Oliver Szondi: LOL
[13:08] Daniel Voyager: hey Oliver - tip fly up :D
[13:08] Arawn Spitteler: If you're supposed to be another place, Caryn, an office hour tends to run for an hour
[13:08] Torley Linden: Friendly greetings Oliver! Hehe, choo choo!
[13:08] Kate Linden: xstorm is that for the KB aritcles?
[13:08] Jon Linden: somebody else made that plate, nicholas (it was pretty good, though)
[13:08] Kate Linden: *articles
[13:08] Patchouli Woollahra: Behold, something that pushes the limits of "Mature"!
[13:08] Oliver Szondi: indeed :D good olde lag never hurt anyone
[13:08] Chester100 Static: if it lagy and it say image loadimg what do i do
[13:08] Jeremy Linden: Oh, the plate was a library object.
[13:09] Caryn Eleonara: Hmm, Well, let me hang for 30 min here, then go back
[13:09] Oliver Szondi: is it ok to push a small Question...its about the blog post recently on creating items...
[13:09] Torley Linden: Where does it say "image loading", Chester100? A new problem for you, or one that just started?
[13:09] Torley Linden: Er, I mean, "one that has been going on for awhile?"
[13:09] Daniel Voyager: wow, nice watermelon you have there, Patchouli lol
[13:09] Chester100 Static: in the lagy
[13:09] Caryn Eleonara: nobody was there last monday, and no one there when I left
[13:09] xstorm Radek: i was hoping to get a inworld how to step by step viewer to first show people how to get to the search wiki then by a click button take them to in in search ,, next tell them how the wiki works and how to use it all inworld for new people
[13:09] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol
[13:10] Patchouli Woollahra: We had one going on the Orientation Islands in the form of a HUD.
[13:10] Torley Linden: Patch, thanks for pointing me to those. I had to get them for myself, too.
[13:10] Patchouli Woollahra: as it turns out, HUDs on several people in a island spawned off a OpenSpace - not too good for stability :(
[13:11] Torley Linden: xstorm, I think some of that, due to limitations on parcel media, are best shown on an external webpage. Sadly not the most integrated, but it's more practical.
[13:11] Torley Linden: And to note what Patch said too.
[13:11] Alexander9 Carver: afk
[13:11] Patchouli Woollahra: having said that, it would be good if we could get "Webpage On A Prim" going properly.
[13:11] Arawn Spitteler: Someone's asking about putting his concert on webcast, and I don't know how SL compares to anything, or what the difference is, between ShoutCast and Skype. I figured a musician/Linden would know, but Dr.Knop won't be available until Friday
[13:11] Patchouli Woollahra: lighten the load on the sims in terms of required info and stuff.
[13:12] Patchouli Woollahra: Arawn: at the risk of shocking the Lindens present... I'd say SL offers NOTHING that is an absolute must to webcasts.
[13:12] Chester100 Static: now it say to much to many complez in scene
[13:12] Mojito Sorbet: http://xkcd.com/619/
[13:12] Patchouli Woollahra: what it DOES offer, is a place where you can congregate with likeminded folk and party/discuss/dance
[13:12] xstorm Radek: well the problem is with all the people that come in to SL many do not have the skills or tools to use the help so a inworld wiki is better to be a base point and click to help them get there faster
[13:12] Patchouli Woollahra: THAT, my friend, is where SL's value comes to the fore.
[13:13] Thunderclap Morgridge: you can loop it through youtube
[13:13] Patchouli Woollahra: xstorm: pointing them to http://wiki.secondlife.com is a good start.
[13:13] Patchouli Woollahra: sadly, the inworld browser does NOT do Flash yet.
[13:13] Caryn Eleonara: SL does offer a lot, when it comes to socializing with the likeminded!
[13:13] Torley Linden: xstorm, ah yes. What you mention — depends on what Patchouli said, as well as clickable hyperlinks. We still don't have that.
[13:13] Thunderclap Morgridge: I wish it would!
[13:13] Patchouli Woollahra: but to the webcast itself, very little.
[13:14] xstorm Radek: some do not have the ability to do a link like that
[13:14] Patchouli Woollahra: Torley: there's a hack for that on sale in the XStreet marketplace, but it requires that the website be coded to W3C standards by a competent webproggie.
[13:14] Marianne McCann: It's a shame it does not. Also that other limits keep youtube stuff from workin' in world without special players an all
[13:14] Torley Linden: Patch, I may've seen that one. Sigh, caveats.
[13:14] xstorm Radek: thats why we need one like what im trying to build
[13:15] Torley Linden: By all means it's good to see innovation with what's possible today, even if workarounds are involved. "Better than nothing."
[13:15] xstorm Radek: it needs to be free for all to have and use
[13:15] Torley Linden: Chester100, it sounds like you may have the Lag Meter open?
[13:15] Torley Linden: Help menu > Lag Meter.
[13:15] Chester100 Static: im at that
[13:16] Torley Linden: The Lag Meter gives useful tips on what to do to improve your performance. It isn't definitively accurate but the clues are helpful. In a scene like where you are now with multiple avatars, you may wish to turn on impostors or reduce draw distance to gain performance. Edit menu > Preferences in the Graphics tab. :)
[13:16] Arawn Spitteler sees network lag, as well as the usual crippled client: Ah, Network's back to yellow
[13:17] Jon Linden is going afk for a moment; be back
[13:17] Torley Linden: Kate needs to continue on to more work... educating Lindens on new skills! She says goodbye for now. :)
[13:17] xstorm Radek: *GIGGLES* :)~~~~ torley what happen when it says the SL sim server is the problem ?
[13:17] Torley Linden: (Sorry I can't reply to IMs, please ask your questions in the open!)
[13:17] Nicholas Hawthorne: :)
[13:17] Torley Linden: More details, xstorm? Where does it say that?
[13:17] Patchouli Woollahra: well, it depends on the transcience of the issue, right, Torley?
[13:17] Torley Linden: Dakotta, those accessories are too awesome. I need to get a picture.
[13:17]
[13:14]
[13:12] Oliver Szondi: i have a Question related to the blog system. well a blog post
[13:12] Oliver Szondi: recently with the new content things will sellers of items need to join this new content programme in order to provide selling items in second life/
[13:18] xstorm Radek: the little lag meter say server sim rate is to low at this time
[13:18] Torley Linden: Patch, are you referring to workarounds?
[13:18] Dakotta Karu: oh why thank you Torley
[13:18] Patchouli Woollahra: I was thinking of a lot of things.
[13:18] Nicholas Hawthorne: mine says normal
[13:18] Arawn Spitteler has normal server, so some of us must be in a different sim
[13:18] Patchouli Woollahra: like the fact that the grid will occasionally not be all sunshine and silver.
[13:18] Chester100 Static: now it say draw distance set to high
[13:18] Patchouli Woollahra: I've gotten used to it.
[13:18] Daniel Voyager: define normal lol
[13:18] Patchouli Woollahra: go into your Graphics, turn down the draw distance.
[13:19] Patchouli Woollahra: There's a melon in here and I'm floating in here, normal is overrated.
[13:19] xstorm Radek: i will turn down setting a little bit so i can be low end like you *GIGGLES* :)~~~~
[13:19] Patchouli Woollahra: but seriously, Oliver also has concerns here.
[13:19] Oliver Szondi: indeed.
[13:19] Oliver Szondi: document concerns.
[13:20] Jeremy Linden is not personally up to speed on the content management roadmap.
[13:20] Patchouli Woollahra: the recent LL update to its policies with regards to how permissions and content rights is handled is being surrounded by FUD.
[13:20] Eirene Janus: how do you transfer land from one non-profit to another - ownership will still remain in your own hands?
[13:20] Torley Linden: Oliver, it's still tentative. And hasn't been implemented. So, I'd give feedback.
[13:20] Patchouli Woollahra: I understand the same process as for normal sims applies.
[13:20] Torley Linden: "We are in the early stages of planning such a program, and we would like your feedback on possible criteria in advance of our planning and implementation."
[13:20] Oliver Szondi: Oki Torley...very worried about it....being unable to work with others.
[13:20] Torley Linden: (Oliver is referring to https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/community/blog/2009/08/04/our-content-management-roadmap )
[13:20] Oliver Szondi: is there going to be an officer hour about it?
[13:20] Oliver Szondi: :D
[13:21] Patchouli Woollahra: inform LL of your intention to transfer for both sides, and make sure the receiving side has non-profit proofs on file with LL.
[13:21] Oliver Szondi: ops
[13:21] Oliver Szondi: office
[13:21] xstorm Radek: the old wiki has many pages og mix data and all need to be fix and updated
[13:21] Torley Linden: You could request that those Lindens have office hours about it, sure. Just like we've done for Adult Content and many other key topics.
[13:21] Eirene Janus: thanks patch
[13:21] Patchouli Woollahra: nominate someone on that receiving organisation, pay the fees through balances with LL, you should be al lshiny.
[13:21] Oliver Szondi: i shall (i should e-mail hem)
[13:21] Patchouli Woollahra: if you're still in doubt... contact Concierge. they will be best placed to advise you.
[13:21] Eirene Janus: great
[13:21] Daniel Voyager: I've found alot of watermelon stuff in SL recently > http://tiny.cc/I36S9 lol
[13:22] s hoping to get a non-profit in world: I think Jack's at 11AM, tomorrow
[13:22] Marianne McCann: My biggest concern on that, Oliver, what the thresholds for being a trusted content person. I suspect I would not be at that lavel, as my transactions are often in US$ outside of the service, which would put me, presumably, at the level of content rippers. But that's me
[13:22] xstorm Radek: such as the old Welcome places there are 3 pages on the old wiki thats about the same thing but the data on the welcome places are wrong
[13:22] Nicholas Hawthorne: xD lol dan
[13:22] Torley Linden: Ha ha, Daniel — I remember the maker of that Party Kit letting me know. Very fun. =)
[13:22] Patchouli Woollahra: agreed. not all the most ethical folk in content provision work in L$ inworld anymore.
[13:22] Patchouli Woollahra: Aimee Weber for instance.
[13:22] Daniel Voyager: :)
[13:22] Patchouli Woollahra: she gets paid in US$ a lot more these days.
[13:22] Marianne McCann wishes the "Information" pavilion in the Ahern WA actually had Information
[13:23] Patchouli Woollahra: does this make her a content ripper outside of the program?
[13:23] Torley Linden: Aimee Weber helped get me up to speed when I started my Second Life. She let me sleep in her dumpster. (It's better than it sounds.)
[13:23] xstorm Radek: the LL Welcome places needs to be fix and up to date
[13:23] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol
[13:23] Dark Derryth: hai
[13:23] Patchouli Woollahra: Torley: agreed. it's like the Tardis of SL.
[13:23] Zai Lynch: @xstorm: what are you referring to when mentioning an "old wiki"? not wiki.secondlife.com? are you talking about the wikia wiki ?
[13:23] Daniel Voyager: agrees with xstorm
[13:23] Patchouli Woollahra: The Wikia Wiki is maintained independently by other folks. I cannot vouch for its accuracy or breadth in any form.
[13:23] Torley Linden: xstorm, there's certainly a program to improve those. Ask Blondin Linden for more info.
[13:24] Colton Linden makes note for dumpster to go in museum
[13:24] Torley Linden: Haha Colton.
[13:24] Colton Linden: :))
[13:24] xstorm Radek: *GIGGLES* :)~~~~
[13:24] Nicholas Hawthorne: LOL torley, how was sleeping in a dumpster like? did the trash truck come pick you up (hopefully not, it happened in rl)
[13:24] Patchouli Woollahra: she recently came back to SL for some bad tasks though - Aimee just nuked a classic bridge build she owned.
[13:25] Chester100 Static: my computer run slow
[13:25] xstorm Radek: Colton as long as you take out the user vending system from 2003 from the waterhead telehub
[13:25] Torley Linden: Nicholas, surprisingly, there was no trash truck. I was very comfortable. I put memorabilia in it and Aimee even gave me a mailbox.
[13:25] Patchouli Woollahra: SL is unfortunately unable to avail itself of a lot of optimisations :(
[13:25] Nicholas Hawthorne: awww, i wish there was a trash truck xD
[13:25] Torley Linden: xstorm, oh yeah, that Waterhead telehub is the LAST place that content is outside of the Library, I think.
[13:25] xstorm Radek: there is
[13:25] Patchouli Woollahra: the only thing you can hope for is for your choice of content creators to take advantage of any ways they can to make content thinner.
[13:25] xstorm Radek: yes it is
[13:25] d be very leery of Sium Crossings in a Dumpster
[13:25] Patchouli Woollahra: WATERHEAD.
[13:26] Patchouli Woollahra: Urgh.
[13:26] Patchouli Woollahra: don't talk to me about a place that has gone to the dogs.
[13:26] Patchouli Woollahra: every time I go there, someone shoots me.
[13:26] Torley Linden: All of these place names hold special memories for me. I know several Infohubs have rowdy groups of regulars.
[13:26] xstorm Radek: infact the old VL list system is still there i think at waterhead
[13:26] Shu Zemenis: hello everyone
[13:26] Spoon Soup: hei
[13:26] xstorm Radek: ooopppss i hope that was not NDA ?
[13:26] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol i just imagine torley living in a dumpster, the trash truck comes, next thing he knows he is in at the SL dump xD
[13:27] Marianne McCann: I wonder why Wanterhead doesn't have the same rules as the other hubs, ya know?
[13:27] Patchouli Woollahra: They still have HIPPOs to hand out at the Waterhead.
[13:27] Shu Zemenis: weee, first time i see a linden :D
[13:27] Walter Freidman: same :D
[13:27] Chester100 Static: me to
[13:27] Torley Linden: But re: Infohub concerns, please do ask Blondin, he's knowledgable on the topic.
[13:27] Spoon Soup: same
[13:27] Jeremy Linden: Three Lindens!
[13:27] Nicholas Hawthorne: xD
[13:27] Jeremy Linden: Four, actually... Colton's here :-)
[13:27] Shu Zemenis: yeh
[13:27] Torley Linden: I used to "do" Infohubs back in 2005 and 2006.
[13:27] Zai Lynch: a whole forrest!
[13:27] xstorm Radek: ok
[13:27] xstorm Radek: Hi Welcome to scond life if you need help please let us know.
[13:27] Spoon Soup: i think its great that devs take time out to play with the other players
[13:27] Arawn Spitteler: Welcome, Shu, to Linden Office Hour
[13:27] Colton Linden: 3 Lindens, but the first time I've ever seen one Shu Zemenis
[13:27] Patchouli Woollahra: Spoon: it's still work, dood.
[13:27] Shu Zemenis: hehe
[13:27] Colton Linden: beat those odds :)
[13:27] Marianne McCann: I go to a few of them when I have time. Mostly around Ahern/Nova/Bay City
[13:28] Torley Linden: It's really important to understand what happens firsthand, Spoon.
[13:28] Shu Zemenis: i see four lindens though
[13:28] Spoon Soup: i dont know any other game where they do that
[13:28] Patchouli Woollahra: "There are FIVE LIGHTS"
[13:28] Torley Linden: CARDASSIAN!
[13:28] Marianne McCann: "There! Are! Four! Lindens!"
[13:28] Patchouli Woollahra: Spoon: MxO comes to mind, actually.
[13:28] Shu Zemenis: torley, i came with your twitter, and btw nice jobs with the tutorials and all :D
[13:28] Torley Linden: Hahaha. I love geek references.
[13:28] Torley Linden: Anyone else here like Wild Palms?
[13:28] Marianne McCann: Aww, beat to the Star Trek reference
[13:28] Patchouli Woollahra is still mourning.
[13:28] Torley Linden: Oh thankyouverymuch Shu. :)
[13:28] xstorm Radek: geek ?
[13:28] Spoon Soup: wel i dont know MxO :D
[13:28] Shu Zemenis: and ur lovely tunes
[13:28] Shu Zemenis: hehe
[13:28] Torley Linden: xstorm, well, obscure, nerdy, sci-fi ones. I dig that stuff.
[13:28] Patchouli Woollahra: I just got my RSi crushed into a tiny ball last week like everyone else :(
[13:28] Zai Lynch: eeeps, I need to run. See you all next week *waves*
[13:28] Arawn Spitteler wishes Patchouli a good Mourning
[13:29] Jeremy Linden: Thanks for coming, Zai!
[13:29] Marianne McCann: Have fun, Zai!
[13:29] Dark Derryth: bye zai
[13:29] Torley Linden: Cya Zai!
[13:29] Spoon Soup: brb, turning graphics down, got too many programs running >_<
[13:29] Patchouli Woollahra: In other news, I'm trying to get Phillip Linden into a pair of glasses and a tuxedo with a old-school microphone.
[13:29] Oliver Szondi: Ah message from the dark side there is torley LOL
[13:29] Nicholas Hawthorne: xD
[13:29] Shu Zemenis: so what's happening here today
[13:29] Torley Linden: I'm addicted to the auto-refreshing Featured Marketplace display @ https://www.xstreetsl.com/
[13:29] Chester100 Static: is that make fast running
[13:29] Oliver Szondi: Uh Oh
[13:29] Torley Linden: Why, Patch?
[13:29] xstorm Radek: ok ok we all have skills some may not be the same skills as other or same level but to call one geek hhhmmm
[13:29] Torley Linden: Shu, we're discussing various topics. Feel free to start one!
[13:29] Oliver Szondi: LOL Torley!. i have been loving that for a lonnnnng time.
[13:30] Torley Linden: xstorm, I mean "geek" positively of course, as in the io9 usage. :)
[13:30] Patchouli Woollahra wants to do a short music video with Ladies And Gentlemen (as seen in the PS3 commercials)
[13:30] Shu Zemenis: oh i seeee
[13:30] xstorm Radek: oh ok :-)
[13:30] Jeremy Linden: Welcome, Shu. This is Documentation office hours, where we're mostly capable of discussing the Knowledge Base, wiki, and other written help for Second Life.
[13:30] Shu Zemenis: that mini map trick's pretty cool
[13:30] Oliver Szondi: hows the pjira going torley?
[13:30] Oliver Szondi: :D
[13:30] Torley Linden: Oliver, I wish it could show 24 at a time. Not sure if that'd be a heavy hit load but my eyes move fast.
[13:30] Oliver Szondi: i always wonder what them upgrades are for.
[13:30] Arawn Spitteler welcomes Jaramy back to Reality
[13:30] Oliver Szondi: LOL.
[13:30] Torley Linden: Shu, yeah, I remember the first time I think it was Kelly Linden... who told me about right-clicking on the Mini-Map.
[13:30] xstorm Radek: my brain path ways can take the data in that form
[13:30] xstorm Radek: ;-)
[13:31] xstorm Radek: *GIGGLES* :)~~~~
[13:31] Dark Derryth: WTF?!?!?!?!?!
[13:31] Torley Linden: I posted a blog post earlier today, 5 little-known facts about the Mini-Map... http://tr.im/sltnt for anyone who wants to read it :)
[13:31] Shu Zemenis: how does one become a linden, really
[13:31] Shu Zemenis: hehe
[13:31] Dark Derryth: wierd giggle
[13:31] Torley Linden: Oliver, I'm not active on the Issue Tracker/PJIRA currently. Used to be!
[13:31] Oliver Szondi: pssst xstorm is running out of RAM xD
[13:31] Spoon Soup: omg vulgular language
[13:31] Patchouli Woollahra: well, you have to have a required skill relevant to the position you want to apply for...
[13:31] Shockwave Plasma: Has the officehours twitter feed stopped? I havent seen it at all today
[13:31] Torley Linden: Shu, same as other places, apply @ http://lindenlab.com/employment but sometimes there are inworld interviews... :)
[13:31] Jeremy Linden: To become a Linden: http://linenlab.com/employment
[13:31] Torley Linden: Shockwave, I don't think that's Linden-maintained... I'm not sure who runs that?
[13:31] Shu Zemenis: oh i'm not applying, just curious, hehe
[13:31] Patchouli Woollahra: and it helps if you can relocate yourself as close as possible to a LL office that needs them :(
[13:31] Arawn Spitteler: First, Shu, you have to live on a stark cut in pay, and do it with flare
[13:32] Shockwave Plasma: Thanks torley
[13:32] Nicholas Hawthorne: lindenlab
[13:32] Nicholas Hawthorne: LOL
[13:32] Daniel Voyager: congratulations Torley, 20, 000 snapshots of Flickr! whooo! :)
[13:32] Oliver Szondi: @Patch im near the office!. still dont know if i should apply!
[13:32] Patchouli Woollahra has been having problems applying to be a Linden until she moved back to Singapore half a year back.
[13:32] Spoon Soup: Can we get a security gaurd here, or a giant laz0r shooting robot. I fear Dark may slice me D:
[13:32] Oliver Szondi: XD Congrats torley!
[13:32] Oliver Szondi: XD
[13:32] Patchouli Woollahra: Oliver: apply, can't hurt to try.
[13:32] Torley Linden: My application process began with a notecard saying I had a dream to work here. Most of my big life decisions revolve around dreams, otherwise I can't be sufficiently motivated. (This is a fundamental element of being creative.)
[13:32] Marianne McCann: Heh... wouldn't be a cut in pay f'r me
[13:32] Chester100 Static: there we go
[13:32] Marianne McCann giggles
[13:32] Torley Linden: Spoon, I'm a Jedi. That good enough?
[13:32] Patchouli Woollahra: btw, this is the song I wanted to abuse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=948xkM1oXGw
[13:32] Spoon Soup: awesome, go!
[13:32] Dark Derryth: i did nothing
[13:32] Jeremy Linden: One thing a lot of people don't realize is that our inworld Linden selves are only a small part of our day-to-day jobs at Linden Lab. We do all the usual software company stuff, but we also all happen to have Linden accounts :-)
[13:33] Patchouli Woollahra: The second verse screams Second Life. The first one screams Second Life on a bad day, so not as much xD
[13:33] Walter Freidman: Dark
[13:33] Chester100 Static: got my computer run faster
[13:33] Walter Freidman: you spammed our shop
[13:33] Torley Linden: Well-said, Jeremy! There's a lot behind-the-scenes.
[13:33] Torley Linden has pinged you.
[13:33] Walter Freidman: ...with missiles
[13:33] Dark Derryth: yah i was banned with that for a day....
[13:33] Torley Linden: Thanks Daniel, I'm looking forward to 44,444. That's a magic number for me.
[13:33] Dark Derryth: got a bit peed of with that guy kicking me out for no reason
[13:33] Spoon Soup: he had reason
[13:33] Dark Derryth: sorreh :P
[13:33] Dark Derryth: not rly
[13:33] Dark Derryth: i came in
[13:33] Spoon Soup: plus youve had your punishmen, so lets leave it for now
[13:33] Dark Derryth: and then he kicked me out
[13:33] Dark Derryth: yes
[13:34] Dark Derryth: lets leave it
[13:34] Patchouli Woollahra: okay, kids, settle down before I start lighting people on fire.
[13:34] Dark Derryth: D:
[13:34] Spoon Soup: ...awkward silence o_o
[13:34] Walter Freidman: oh god o.o'
[13:34] Dark Derryth: Dont set me on fire
[13:34] Nicholas Hawthorne: lol
[13:34] Spoon Soup: *crickets in the distance*
[13:34] Dark Derryth: Im too beowolf to die
[13:34] Walter Freidman: o.o
[13:34] Oliver Szondi think's patch's fur is extremely flammable
[13:34] Jeremy Linden: Please to be not attacking fellow Residents in the presence of Lindens :-)
[13:34] Oliver Szondi: :D
[13:34] Patchouli Woollahra: no really, I can set people on fire with this avatar. just needs a snap of the fingers.
[13:34] Walter Freidman: *cough*
[13:34] Patchouli Woollahra: agreed.
[13:34] Dark Derryth: hehe
[13:34] Daniel Voyager: lol, Torley. :)
[13:34] Dark Derryth: im trying to find...
[13:34] xstorm Radek: i love to work for LL but to help build a new program that will help the non paying users and the smaller prem account people with smaller parcles set up a small user community group to help them learn to help each other and grow in SL
[13:34] Spoon Soup: lol
[13:34] Torley Linden: Charlie says!
[13:34] Dark Derryth: a costume i have
[13:34] Arawn Spitteler doesn't want to set the world on fire

but it's his day job,and he's expected to

[13:34] Dark Derryth: and i cant find it....
[13:35] Shockwave Plasma: yeah take it to the combat sims
[13:35] Spoon Soup: so what if there isnt a linden around, can we murder people then >:D
[13:35] Copperhead Atlas: o0 be carefull where you point that broom
[13:35] Copperhead Atlas: oh pweef its gone
[13:35] Patchouli Woollahra: yeah, it's jetpowered.
[13:35] Caryn Eleonara: what's arawn's night job?
[13:35] Marianne McCann: Office hours are being moved to Jessie?
[13:35] Marianne McCann smiles
[13:35] Marianne McCann grins
[13:35] Torley Linden: xstorm, that's a beautiful dream to have. Starting a tight-knit community like that.
[13:35] Torley Linden: Mari, recently I made Here damage-enabled and there's a UFO that fires on sight.
[13:35] Oliver Szondi thinks xstorm would be a good linden.
[13:35] Oliver Szondi: Uh Oh! LOL
[13:35] Nicholas Hawthorne: O.O
[13:35] Marianne McCann: Torley - I know all about that UFO. Still have scorch marks
[13:35] Torley Linden: Hahahaha.
[13:36] Torley Linden: XD
[13:36] Walter Freidman: yah
[13:36] Walter Freidman: its eeeevil
[13:36] Oliver Szondi: Run away from water mealon UFOs!!!
[13:36] Oliver Szondi: :D
[13:36] Nicholas Hawthorne: LOL
[13:36] Marianne McCann: But can one shoot down the UFO?
[13:36] Patchouli Woollahra: I fought back by sitting on it. five minutes later it crashed and I got booted.
[13:36] Torley Linden: I had a plan long ago about a hostel-style program in SL.
[13:36] xstorm Radek: the top plan is to get people with the right people skills and team work skills
[13:36] Oliver Szondi: sounds like a call cheap film
[13:36] Spoon Soup: at the moment thisplce looks like a mix between a dungeons and dragons festival and a poker game. :D
[13:36] Patchouli Woollahra: xstorm: this idea you mention - it could possibly feed into LL's mole programme.
[13:36] Walter Freidman: woohoo.
[13:36] Marianne McCann: Soup - this is bad?
[13:36] Dark Derryth: Roar
[13:36] Caryn Eleonara: Hmmm...
[13:36] Torley Linden: Such is the fun with avatars, Spoon. Haha!
[13:37] xstorm Radek: yes
[13:37] Spoon Soup: its just, awesome?
[13:37] Spoon Soup: :D
[13:37] Marianne McCann: And if so, I ante 10 and cast magic missle
[13:37] Walter Freidman: yes
[13:37] Walter Freidman: yes it is
[13:37] xstorm Radek: the LL Moles are very importent
[13:37] Torley Linden: I was reading an excerpt of an interview M Linden (OUR CEO) gave to the Social Media Bible, he was talking about all the different kinds of avatars we have in SL.
[13:37] Arawn Spitteler: 3PM at Shamon
[13:37] Dark Derryth: XD
[13:37] Patchouli Woollahra wanted to apply, but she had only four major builds in two years so it's a bit iffy.
[13:37] Torley Linden: An avatar is a potent conduit for self-expression, even if it's highly bizarre.
[13:38] Patchouli Woollahra: and I specialise in bizarre.
[13:38] Colton Linden: That is true
[13:38] Marianne McCann: patchouli - it seems to be hard to get in there. I've applied twice so far
[13:38] Spoon Soup: here we have an angry blue dragon, ex beowulf, and a snow leopard on the carpet. Yet neither is attatcking the oher, how unique.
[13:38] Torley Linden: And perhaps, ESPECIALLY if it's highly bizarre. ;)
[13:38] Torley Linden: Peaceful co-existence, yay.
[13:38] Dark Derryth: Who wants a pet?
[13:38] Patchouli Woollahra: I was encouraged by... erm... certain folks... to do it again when I got home to Singapore ^^;
[13:38] Spoon Soup: Dark, 3 second rule, PERSONAL SPACE please...
[13:38] Patchouli Woollahra: Apparently plenty of room in Fusionpolis
[13:38] Torley Linden: After browsing 100s of things at Xstreet I begin to get ideas of how they might all coalesce in a scene.
[13:38] Spoon Soup: thankyou...
[13:39] Patchouli Woollahra: Personal space... I got an avatar that halfensures that if you want.
[13:39] Torley Linden: Personal space in a virtual world is another very fascinating thing.
[13:39] Patchouli Woollahra: it's got stabbity hands.
[13:39] Torley Linden: We feel uncomfortable if someone bumps into us repeatedly.
[13:39] Nicholas Hawthorne: wow epic freeze then crash
[13:39] Oliver Szondi: indeed....i have an office LOL
[13:39] PulseBurst Flow: re: wiki documentation, with windlight, some people who were getting six local lights, now just see two. LL code is checking for certain graphic card drivers and setting the limit. This has caused a lot of confusion, and it would be helpful (and transparent) if this issue was documented on the wiki. with a list of drivers/graphics cards affected.
[13:39] Jeremy Linden: 3 second rule... I haven't heard that one before, but interesting concept of virtual personal space :-)
[13:39] Shockwave Plasma: AS In OZ you would be paying half your pay in bandwidth charges , Patch ?
[13:39] Dark Derryth: Roar
[13:39] Spoon Soup: lol
[13:39] Spoon Soup: its not real but it works when you say it
[13:39] Waldina Katar (Right) v1.2: releasing controls
[13:39] xstorm Radek: i do think its time for sim types to have a place in the Wiki so new people will understand more about RPG sims and EDU sims and other Sim types in SL
[13:39] Marianne McCann: I seem to recall something about that in a study some time back, Torley. How we tend to 'group" our avatars is forms that match our reality in a somewhat subconscious way
[13:39] Spoon Soup: MATRIX JUMP
[13:39] Dark Derryth: WAAARK!
[13:40] Torley Linden: xstorm, would you like to start new wiki pages for those? It'd be welcome.
[13:40] Spoon Soup: D:
[13:40] Torley Linden: I've seen studies like that, Mari! I like psychological insights, because often people act a certain way but don't necessarily articulate it.
[13:40] xstorm Radek: me :-) OMG!! yes i love to help
[13:40] Marianne McCann nods
[13:40] Torley Linden: "I feel good being this avatar, but I can't quite explain why..."
[13:40] Dark Derryth: WTF?!?!?!?!?!
[13:40] Patchouli Woollahra: Shockwave: actually, the reasons are significantly more depressing. Suffice it to say that the Taxmen are evil.
[13:40] Marianne McCann: I see a lot of that 'round. It's fascinating to watch
[13:40] Walter Freidman: its the force
[13:40] Arawn Spitteler opened a wiki page on Mixed Reality, just so someone else could explain it: Why not open wiki pages on RPG and Damage Enabled?
[13:40] Patchouli Woollahra: Torley: stabbity hands!
[13:40] Spoon Soup: more vulgular language :O!
[13:40] Dark Derryth: wrong gesture D:
[13:40] Dark Derryth: WAAARK!
[13:40] Nicholas Hawthorne: :D
[13:40] Shockwave Plasma: al Taxmen are Evil
[13:41] Spoon Soup: could use those jedi powers now Torley, theres a beowulf dragon on my shoulder.
[13:41] Patchouli Woollahra: especially the ones that insist you hire local or suffer.
[13:41] Dark Derryth: Hey!
[13:41] Walter Freidman: yah
[13:41] Torley Linden: :O
[13:41] Dark Derryth: WAAARK!
[13:41] Colton Linden: I must run, take care everyone :)
[13:41] Spoon Soup: o_O
[13:41] Walter Freidman: baaai
[13:41] Torley Linden: Take care Colton!
[13:41] Dark Derryth: Im an awesome dragon
[13:41] Dark Derryth: that can do tricks
[13:41] Jon Linden: be well!
[13:41] Copperhead Atlas: bey
[13:41] Oliver Szondi: ty colton
[13:41] Oliver Szondi: ops
[13:41] Oliver Szondi: tc
[13:41] Spoon Soup: only because someone made you on Spore :D
[13:41] Dark Derryth: bye colton?
[13:41] Torley Linden: If you haven't seen it yet, https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/community/support/blog/2009/07/21/meet-colton-linden  :)
[13:41] Dark Derryth: But im AWESOME
[13:41] xstorm Radek: it will have that and i will get a hold of a old friend i had back in 2002 about MMO networks and the RPG community networks
[13:41] Torley Linden: Feature on Colton!
[13:42] Patchouli Woollahra: Random fact: LL is getting about 25% of the first US$2000 it pays each Linden in Singapore back atm ^^;
[13:42] Spoon Soup: you have scales, on your eyes, omg??
[13:42] Oliver Szondi: torley
[13:42] Patchouli Woollahra: just like everyone else ^^;
[13:42] Oliver Szondi: sending you some gestures a friend sent me with your name on them
[13:42] Torley Linden: Oliver, I wonder which ones those are.
[13:42] Walter Freidman: OMG
[13:42] Torley Linden: Torley Linden says I can change my appearance,
[13:42] Walter Freidman: i turned around to the side
[13:42] Oliver Szondi: XD
[13:42] Nicholas Hawthorne: HahaAHAHaa!
[13:43] Daniel Voyager: HahaAHAHaa!
[13:43] Dark Derryth: wtf?
[13:43] Spoon Soup: Walter! use the sword you made! i got it blessed by an african samurai ninja d00d while you werent looking...
[13:43] Jeremy Linden: Patchouli, please try to stay on the topic on documentation here.
[13:43] Torley Linden: Hmm that gesture didn't play all the way through.
[13:43] Walter Freidman: and it was staring at meh
[13:43] Walter Freidman: o.o
[13:43] Patchouli Woollahra: my bad. I keep forgetting this isn't Torley hour anymore.
[13:43] Oliver Szondi: hmmm....
[13:43] Torley Linden: XD
[13:43] Torley Linden: Gestures are a very odd thing. Very funny but so many little caveats. I remember doing the initial help documentation for those, that was intricate.
[13:43] Walter Freidman: go away, Mr. Beowulf Dragon!
[13:43] Jeremy Linden: I don't mind if we wander off-topic a bit, but spreading negative rumors about how Linden Lab operates is not acceptable :-)
[13:44] Dark Derryth: Im not a beowolf dragon
[13:44] Dark Derryth: im a Dragonlet
[13:44] Walter Freidman: whatever you are
[13:44] Walter Freidman: you were in my face
[13:44] Spoon Soup: literally...
[13:44] PulseBurst Flow: jeremy...is this meeting aboout documentation really? I did bring up a documentation issue..and didn't get a single response.
[13:44] PulseBurst Flow has pinged you.
[13:44] Spoon Soup: actually he looks quite playful with the snow-leopard there :D
[13:44] Patchouli Woollahra: it wasn't intended as negative, my apologies. jsut a reminder that fortunately there are some people who don't see LL as the enemy every other five seconds. ^^;
[13:44] Arawn Spitteler only spreads positive rumors about Linden Negativity
[13:44] Torley Linden: I'm so sorry if we missed you, PulseBurst! Please repeat?
[13:44] Jeremy Linden scrolls up to see Pulse's question.
[13:45] Spoon Soup: wow
[13:45] Spoon Soup: nice leopard!
[13:45] Jeremy Linden: Ah, the WindLight question!
[13:45] Walter Freidman: leopard is ftw
[13:45] Spoon Soup: that was cool!
[13:45] Dark Derryth: WAAARK!
[13:45] Spoon Soup: that sounded nothing like a WAAARK!
[13:45] Dark Derryth: WAAARK!
[13:45] Walter Freidman: lol
[13:45] Spoon Soup: how is that possible??
[13:45] Dark Derryth: God help me!!! D:
[13:45] Dark Derryth: IT'S THE SOUND THAT MAKES ME PUNCH INFANTS!!! DX
[13:46] Spoon Soup: loud...
[13:46] Walter Freidman: o.o'
[13:46] Dark Derryth: wrong gesture again....
[13:46] Jon Linden: people, can we cool it with the sound gestures
[13:46] Spoon Soup: awkward silence...
[13:46] Dark Derryth: XD
[13:46] Dark Derryth: "Growl"
[13:46] Patchouli Woollahra thinks it's more like the sound that makes her punch Dark, but that's irrelevant to this discussion now.
[13:46] Dark Derryth: to you too
[13:46] Jeremy Linden: I agree that it would be helpful to post a list of graphics cards affected by a particular bug. However, I'm not 100% certain that such a post would fit into the category of "how to use Second Life", which is our primary focus.
[13:46] Walter Freidman: lawl.
[13:46] Spoon Soup: this is not a discussion. xD
[13:47] Black with Rotating ring whispers: Cloaking device installed
[13:47] Spoon Soup: this is a conversation :D
[13:47] Patchouli Woollahra: Well, as I see it, SL's biggest strength - and its biggest weakness... is how open it is.
[13:47] Patchouli Woollahra: Am I right guys?
[13:47] Walter Freidman: yosh!
[13:47] Torley Linden: PulseBurst, it's been awhile since I saw that issue in the Issue Tracker. However, I agree it should be documented a lot better a la http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Graphics_card . It's unclear in some cases if the local lights limit is intentional, too.
[13:47] Torley Linden: *digs*
[13:47] Spoon Soup: yeah.
[13:47] PulseBurst Flow: It should be documented somewhere...it is not a "bug"...it's by design...
[13:47] PulseBurst Flow: but they didn't document it.
[13:47] Torley Linden: MANY people still don't know "ONLY SIX LOCAL LIGHTS?" That is too obscure, still.
[13:47] Patchouli Woollahra: Torley: actually OpenGL BlueBook specs that a card should be handling a maximum of 8 lights specified in OpenGL.
[13:47] Marianne McCann: I wish it was still six lights
[13:47] Dark Derryth: Boo!
[13:47] Torley Linden: Plus moon and backlight...
[13:48] Arawn Spitteler: Which feature is that
[13:48] Torley Linden: which equals 8.
[13:48] Patchouli Woollahra: But that's on the assumption of a pro card. which most of us don't have.
[13:48] PulseBurst Flow: Torley, it is in the PJIRA... here are a few
[13:48] PulseBurst Flow: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13110
[13:48] Marianne McCann: With atmospheric shaders, it is even less
[13:48] Dark Derryth: EAT IT!
[13:48] PulseBurst Flow: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14282
[13:48] Torley Linden: Aye, and https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6116
[13:48] Spoon Soup: Its crushing me!
[13:48] Walter Freidman: omg
[13:48] Spoon Soup: *choke*
[13:48] Walter Freidman: dark
[13:48] Walter Freidman: PLEASE stop
[13:48] Torley Linden: HOWEVER.
[13:48] Patchouli Woollahra: the deferred rendering process as used in some viewers and currently in dev by... erm... Runitai, was it?... offers a way out.
[13:49] Torley Linden: I should add that the local lights issue becomes moot (to some degree) with the new lighting system. Yes, Runitai is working on that.
[13:49] Patchouli Woollahra: Basically, it's like devoting an entire chunk of the renderer to doing lights and only lights.
[13:49] PulseBurst Flow: Deferred rendering should also be documented..but that's another issue
[13:49] Patchouli Woollahra: and this can be very spectacular. if you want to know how... go play Killzone 2.
[13:49] Dark Derryth: "Poop"
[13:49] Jeremy Linden: Runitai and a few others are working on deferred rendering, and my anecdotal experience with it is that local lightning is a zillion times better :-)
[13:49] Nicholas Hawthorne: xD
[13:49] Spoon Soup: D:
[13:49] Dark Derryth: XD
[13:49] PulseBurst Flow: yes..Runtitai working on it is same thing Andrew said at an office hour a year ago. ;)
[13:49] Patchouli Woollahra: Every frame of it goes through a partially modified deferred rendering engine.
[13:49] Torley Linden: There are numerous cases when there are things documented internally which are of broad public use but no one in those respective expertises has had the time/process/another reason to put it out.
[13:49] Niky Zenovka: Have a question on graphic card configuration in SL...
[13:49] Patchouli Woollahra: GOOO RUNITAIIII
[13:50] Arawn Spitteler: If there's a word of local jargon, for something in SL, shouldn't that word be in the Wiki?
[13:50] Dark Derryth: Bush: "Whoo hoo! I just learned how to pee standing up! Mission Accomplished!"
[13:50] Torley Linden: And that is exactly why we don't want to assign false expectations, it's always, always dangerous.
[13:50] Dark Derryth: fucj
[13:50] Patchouli Woollahra waves a bunch of silly flags with the letter R emblazoned on them.
[13:50] Dark Derryth: Norah: "Mission accomplished indeed Mr. President!"
[13:50] Patchouli Woollahra: DarK: language!
[13:50] Dark Derryth: yet again wrong gesture
[13:50] Dark Derryth: "removes gestures"
[13:50] Torley Linden: Always a double-edged sword to say "We're working on this", because while it offers hope, it also creates a pressure for time.
[13:50] Patchouli Woollahra: you do just that now, yes.
[13:50] Walter Freidman: why dont you just stop the gestures alltogether?
[13:50] Dark Derryth: cus my dragon needs to sniff
[13:50] Dark Derryth: n stuff
[13:50] Dark Derryth: and wash
[13:50] Patchouli Woollahra: yeah, I'd rather LL say "we're not currently working on this", even if it's lying.
[13:50] Torley Linden: To such ends in the future, hopefully many knowledgeable Residents will continue to add to the wiki.
[13:51] Jeremy Linden: Arawn, we are working on ways to include a glossary in upcoming releases of the Viewer. Hopefully it'll help people learn all these Second Life-specific words a little more easily.
[13:51] Niky Zenovka: About graphic cards.. should we use in the hardware settings all memory the card reports to have, or is there an optimum setting for that? (memory for textures)
[13:51] Spoon Soup: wow, graphics bug FTL
[13:51] Nicholas Hawthorne: o.o fish
[13:51] Torley Linden: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Limits is one of the best examples of many people getting together and contributing must-know knowledge.
[13:51] Spoon Soup: patchouli has a cylinder which makes the carpet behind it invisible for me
[13:51] Jon Linden: all right, who's squeaking the bear
[13:51] Spoon Soup: oh my god?
[13:51] Walter Freidman: o.o'

[13:51] Walter Freidman: MY EYES
[13:51] Patchouli Woollahra: I like that page even though it seems it must be depressing to note that LL isn't boundless.
[13:51] Chester100 Static: ooooooo
[13:51] Dark Derryth: AAAAAAH!
[13:51] Oliver Szondi: X(

[13:52] Chester100 Static: aahah
[13:52] Nicholas Hawthorne: looks awa
[13:52] Torley Linden: Niky, generally, use all the memory available. However, it also raises Second Life's RAM usage, so if performance is feeling *slower*, then lower it. There's not an exact magic number tho.
[13:52] Dark Derryth: KICK HEEEEM!
[13:52] Patchouli Woollahra: someone tell Dark to put on some clothes... or god help me I will start eating him.
[13:52] Dark Derryth: KICK HEEEEM

[13:52] Torley Linden: Hehe, Patchouli, "Your world. Your imagination. But here are the limits!"
[13:52] Chester100 Static: nasty
[13:52] Dark Derryth: its that other guy
[13:52] Spoon Soup: yeah, his dragon has a glove

[13:52] Oliver Szondi thinks that should be a new slogan for Linden Lab torley =)
[13:52] Arawn Spitteler: Imagine there are limits
[13:52] Nicholas Hawthorne: GIANT FISH!!!
[13:52] Patchouli Woollahra: iTorley: some of the best awesome in SL, are actually people hopping over the limits.

[13:53] Chester100 Static: i am
[13:53] Torley Linden: Sometimes when it results in unforseen consequences like, putting scripts in Linden trees and CRASHING. :|
[13:53] Spoon Soup: it wasnt chester guys...
[13:53] Nicholas Hawthorne: you might have n fishing rod, but you have a snow lepoard
[13:53] Patchouli Woollahra: Torley: how'd THAT happen?

[13:54] Dark Derryth: A BIG FISH!
[13:54] Spoon Soup: wow, oxymoron :D
[13:54] xstorm Radek: oh if any new people wish to know how to file a AR on Chester100 Static its not very hard then you can learn how to mute them
[13:54] Torley Linden: I don't quite recall, Patch and Oliver. But it did NOT work because it wasn't expected.
[13:54] Niky Zenovka: Office hours turned into zoo hours....
[13:54] Dark Derryth: BIG
[13:54] Dark Derryth: FISH!
[13:54] Oliver Szondi: big fish....little fish...card..board...box...coughs prim
[13:54] Torley Linden: We have an assortment of creatures here. Some cuddly, some not.
[13:54] Spoon Soup: i think we see that Dark
[13:54] Patchouli Woollahra: Torley: Linden Trees are an interesting item in SL... the only known examples of instanced objects in SL for one.
[13:54] Spoon Soup: some quite annoying, and disturbing
[13:54] Dark Derryth: Im more cuddly than the fish
[13:54] Spoon Soup: wheres darth vader when you need him to prove that?
[13:54] Jon Linden: let's try to avoid popularity contests in our office hour
[13:54] Jeremy Linden: Heh. Let's try not to AR anyone due to a misread nametag :-)
[13:54] Torley Linden: One of my fave parts about http://wiki.secondlife.com is even if you have a few minutes, you can quickly throw notes there. Share it with someone else, who may refine the page. And it could grow from there.
[13:54] Dark Derryth: Ill go get him
[13:55] Nicholas Hawthorne: i can be cuddly when i want to be xD
[13:55] Arawn Spitteler wonders at the possibility of Shamanic Documentation

[13:55] Patchouli Woollahra: Jeremy: I THINK he's a fan of Python for some reason.
[13:55] Patchouli Woollahra has pinged you.
[13:55] Torley Linden: There are many, many times when I went, "Gosh darnit! I have another meeting to get to! But oh, 5 minutes? QUICK! Copy-and-paste, typetypetype. I'll come back to it later." Those pages have developed in time to get tens, even hundreds of thousands of views. It's very iterative, bit by bit... all the pebbles o' info add up.
[13:55]
[13:56] xstorm Radek: what happen to the nude ?

[13:56] Walter Freidman: hes using the force!
[13:56] Torley Linden: Oh you're lucky, your lightsaber has ANIMATIONS.
[13:56] Patchouli Woollahra: Jeremy: afaik, Python is one of the few languages in use by LL on SL that has built in documentation features by default.
[13:56] Patchouli Woollahra has pinged you.
[13:56] Walter Freidman: of pushing
[13:56] Torley Linden: Mine is just a prototype.

[13:57] Spoon Soup: is it plastic, hate those cheap rip-offs
[13:57] Nicholas Hawthorne: ding ding! torley VS darth vader
[13:57] Patchouli Woollahra: with PHP, you need to explictly import an external library, same for C++

[13:57] Oliver Szondi: awwwwweee.
[13:57] PulseBurst Flow: ok..well..thanks for the responses..I look forward to seeing the specific cards/drivers that are restricted to 2 local lights documented. this would prevent erroneous bug reports, and let people make informed decisions on hardware.
[13:57] Jeremy Linden: Heh. I think we just got into code and API documentation.
[13:57] Torley Linden: Some of these gestures and animations are so freakin' hilarious.
[13:57] Spoon Soup: :o
[13:57] Nicholas Hawthorne: use the linden force xD
[13:57] Walter Freidman: im ok
[13:57] Walter Freidman: :D

[13:57] Oliver Szondi: God tool 100 :D
[13:57] Patchouli Woollahra: Pulse: the issue tends to be restricted more to older consumer cards, to be honest.
[13:58] Daniel Voyager: use the watermelon force lol
[13:58] Spoon Soup: AAAH
[13:58] Torley Linden: PulseBurst, yeah, actually... I wonder if it may actually, already be inside the gpu cards .txt file (I forget the name) that SL uses.

[13:58] PulseBurst Flow: not true patchouli
[13:58] Oliver Szondi: What does the CSR button do on admin tools?

[13:58] PulseBurst Flow: not ati either.
[13:58] Torley Linden: Oliver, it summons a flock of seagulls. And they ran so far away. CSR = Call Seagull Ravers.
[13:58] Spoon Soup: hes watched that japanese show that causes seizures...
[13:58] Oliver Szondi: LOL!
[13:58] Patchouli Woollahra: Spoon: that would be Pokemon.
[13:58] Arawn Spitteler: Admin Tools work for administring lindens, like when Jon wants an orderly hour
[13:58] Torley Linden: Spoon, more like all of Japanese television.
[13:59] Walter Freidman: pickle surprise!
[13:59] Nicholas Hawthorne: HahaAHAHaa!
