Fixing avatar appearance

If not intentional, this is an issue that typically manifests itself as your avatar being a solid or otherwise clashing color, or featuring spikes, bumps, and other unsightly protrusions coming out of your body.


First, if your graphics card meets our System Requirements, make sure you've updated to the newest drivers. This has historically been known to affect Residents with ATI cards more than nVIDIA ones.


If the problem still persists, or if you're running on unsupported hardware, try going to Edit > Preferences > Graphics Detail and deselecting the Avatar Vertex Program checkbox.

If there are still odd stripes, lines, or other glitches on your avatar, try a texture rebake.
