For an object to be visible on the World Map, it must be lower than 400 meters on the Z-coordinate (vertical) plane.
This is a reasonably high number which allows for creativity with prims, while hiding higher objects that are meant to be private, like skyboxes and floating homes.
For reference, the absolute limit on building height is:
- 4,096 m for Second Life viewers later than 1.20.x
- 768 m for Second Life viewers prior to 1.20.x
