Agenda

  1. It's been stated before that bone length recognition isn't likely to be in the initial main grid deploy. Why is this, when the lengths look right in the preview window? What has to be done in order for this to appear in-world? (Tiberious)
  2. Any news on CTS-590, adding the override to allow "partial" joint-arrays in collada files ? It seems that several exporters 'optimize`collada files by skipping/excluding joints that are not in use (e.g., in 3dsMax I create boots -> the exporter writes only a partial joint array, ignoring torso/arms/... -> as result these weighted meshed can't be uploaded, 'Upload'-button greys out.) (Marielle Caerndow)
  3. Update on prim cost. We now see streaming cost is prim cost. How will making the object scripted/physical affect the overall cost? Min stand alone prim cost? Any rough formulas would be helpful. (Gearsawe)
  4. ...and, Why is the edit floater final cost 2.5 (and str. cst. 1.5) for meshes with Show Render Info str. cst. < 1, and will it stay that way? [Drongle]
  5. Using a texture with any transparent area on it makes the whole object partially seethrough. Also, it won't react to changing shiny. Is this expected behavior? [Ashasekayi Ra]

[12:06] Prep Linden This "partial" flag may longer be needed (positive fallout from another fix :-) ) - so Marielle open up a jira and I'll take a look at it next sprint, or possibly sooner.

[12:12] Vivienne Daguerre I really don't think that scripts should add to the prim cost. If you are wanting to put some control on script numbers and memory use, you should find another way to do that. Scripts should not affect prim equivalency.

[12:21] davep (runitai.linden) Yes, using a transparent texture will make the entire face transparent unless it's an alpha mask (pixels are all transparent or all opaque) and "automatic alpha masks" is enabled.

[12:24] Nyx Linden been working on making sure the framework for prim equivalency is working. Next up is tweaking the algorithms to make sure they fit our budgets
[12:24] Dahlia Trimble speaking of alpha masking... are all the shaders in the mesh viewer finalized and considered ready for release?
[12:24] davep (runitai.linden) Streaming cost got tuned a bit and tested -- there are still some cases where items can go over budget, but for those most part the costs seem to be trending the right way. The sim should agree with the viewer on the next sim deploy.
