Second Life says it needs to update, but when I launch the auto-update utility, it doesn't work.

Firewalls, or internet security or firewall software, frequently block the auto-update utility from downloading the newest version of Second Life. Antivirus software may also prevent the updater from installing the new Second Life executable.
You can always download the latest version of Second Life at http://secondlife.com/download.
