I know you can get the alpha state of a linked prim's face using llGetLinkPrimitiveParams, but it seems such a waste of CPU cycles — considering that you can set the alpha & colour on a linked prim, and you can get the alpha & colour of the root prim (from the script's perspective, that is), but why can't we have a fast and easy function just to extract the alpha/colour from a linked prim?...
It's these kinds of inconsistencies that make programmers use far-than-efficient solutions which will then cause more completely unnecessary script lag for everybody on the region...
