Where I Live

My home is Woodsong, my sim. It's a natural place with woods and meadows and a lake, crystal caves and mountains. I love it more than anywhere I have lived in all my time in SL. I designed and terraformed it myself.

My home is open to anyone who would like to come and explore. The doors are all unlocked so feel free to walk right in. Be sure to feed the ducks, and don't forget to try out the telescope. See if you can find the crystal cave and the rope bridge. There is canoeing and 7 Seas fishing, and lots to explore.

What I Do

I love to build things!

I am the Second Life coordinator for Sustainable Harvest International, a non-profit organization providing farmers and communities in the tropics with long-term assistance implementing environmentally and economically sustainable technologies.

What I Do For Fun

I have been a resident of SL since July, 2004 and I continue to find it a remarkable and fascinating experience every day. The amazing talent and creativity of the SL community makes this a unique and wonderful world. One of my favourite things to do is explore and visit all the many cool places that my fellow residents have made.

Of course I love to shop, and I spend way too much time and money engaging in my 'favourite sport'. (*grins*) I also spend a lot of time at live music concerts. My current favourite artists are Shantu Selene, Noma Falto, Vienna James, kelvinblue Oh, and Gina Stella.

If you would like to see more pics of my wanderings through SL, see my Flickr page. Or, if you are on Facebook, add me as your friend :)

About Mentoring

I love my work as an SL Mentor, and I am very proud to be a member of the team. They are all remarkable people who give their time, unpaid, to help new SL residents. Of course we have a lot of fun too, and great parties :) My volunteering gives me the chance to meet people and make friends from many different cultures and backgrounds, from all over the world. It's just one of the many ways that SL has broadened my horizons. If you think that you would enjoy mentoring, go here for more information.

My Philosophy

I believe that human relationships are the most important thing in both SL and RL. I love to help people, and I am never too busy to talk, whether it be with a friend, newbie, or anyone who needs help or just wants to chat. Being nice, friendly, and slow to anger are the best ways to make our SL experience a good one. The best thing we can do for someone is to listen to them and show that we are genuinely interested in them. In SL even more than in RL, we have the opportunity to meet and learn from such a diversity of people from different countries, cultures, religions, and interests. Being open to new experiences and new friends is a wonderful way to learn and broaden our horizons, and the most valuable thing we can get out of SL is to increase our knowledge of the real world through the people we meet in the virtual world.

I really believe that Second Life is the world of the future. The possibilities are limitless, as my fellow residents prove every day :) I can't wait to see what's coming in the years ahead!
