Torley Linden: Hi everyone!
Torley Linden: Trampoline fun?
RatedR7 Slade: cool wings Torley
Torley Linden: Thanx RatedR7!
Torley Linden: Heya Brad. :)
Torley Linden: Hi all!
RatedR7 Slade: your welcome :-D
Brad Linden: hi torley
Brad Linden: hi all
Jeremy Linden: Hmm... I rezzed a stool here, didn't I?
Jeremy Linden relogs.
Torley Linden: Yup there is some slowdown right now... give it some time to load...
Torley Linden: Who came here specifically for WindLight Office Hours? Or did any of you randomly wander by? =)
Arokh Takakura: Windlight office hours?
Zen Linden: who wants some windlight?
Torley Linden: Yup, info @ http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Windlight
Arokh Takakura: but I get black rings in the sky so I don't run it often. :)
Torley Linden: We do Office Hours, Q&A sessions twice a week.
Torley Linden: That bug has a workaround... change your Sky Mesh Detail slider...
Torley Linden: and Brad knows what caused it.
Brad Linden: will be fixed in the next release
Torley Linden: Awesome.
Arokh Takakura: I tried that and my FPS dropped to 5 which is odd considering I was lowering the detail.
Torley Linden: That's odd, what was your FPS normally before that?
Arokh Takakura: about..
Arokh Takakura: uh.
Arokh Takakura coughs.
Arokh Takakura: 7.
Arokh Takakura: I have a 5.6 dual core AMD athlon XP
Arokh Takakura: 3 gig of matching ram.
Arokh Takakura: and 512mb onboard graphics.
Arokh Takakura: Geforce 6600.
Arokh Takakura: I've always got low FPS with Secondlife for some reason, even resorted to trying different operating systems.
Torley Linden: Hi Aimee!
Zen Linden: it's onboard graphics with a 6600???
Aimee Trescothick: Hi, sorry I'm late, trying to persuade my attachments to load, don't like introducing myself bald :D
Arokh Takakura: Yup.
Arokh Takakura: Onboard graphics -are- the 6600 series.
BigPapi Linden: that might be the weirdest machine I've ever seen.
Arokh Takakura: it's a factory built.
BigPapi Linden: A beast in all categories but with an onboard gpu
Arokh Takakura: so not like it's badly put together.
Pastrami Linden: hey all- sorry for being late- login problems
Torley Linden: Curious, Arokh, which company makes that?
Torley Linden: Hey Pastrami, glad you could make it at last!
Arokh Takakura: ..Acer.
Zen Linden: yeah, my 6600 on linux at home gets around 15-20 fps
Arokh Takakura: I can push 15 on lowest settings.
Arokh Takakura: but Secondlife looks a bit dull like that.
Torley Linden: Welcome Amy, Kippie!
Arokh Takakura: right now I'm getting.
Amy Faddoul: Well, lookit this. Makes me wish I was armed.
Amy Faddoul: Heyas Torley ::)
Arokh Takakura: Gah i forgot the keyboard shortcut for FPS report.
Kippie Friedkin: Hi all
Torley Linden: Ctrl-Shift-1, Arokh.
Arokh Takakura: cheers mate.
Torley Linden: View menu > Statistics Bar also does the trick.
Arokh Takakura: Oooh
Arokh Takakura: right now I'm pulling 7.2
Torley Linden shouts: Those of you in the distance, if you'd like to discuss WindLight with us, come closer to the stage! You're welcome to join!
Arokh Takakura: on a pretty decent system.
Pastrami Linden: hey all- IM me your questions!
Arokh Takakura: Windlight gets about 1fps with shaders on.
Amy Faddoul: Question on Windlight final release. I have currently already started several builds in the client. They just look plain wrong with the RC. And date?
Torley Linden: Please IM Pastrami Linden your questions so they can be in the queue to be answered! =)
Pastrami Linden: thanks Torley
Pastrami Linden: Amy- date- expect sometime in Feb. or March
Pastrami Linden: and re: builds, it's a tough call- I'm still tweaking default settings, but your best bet really will be to tweak for WL
Pastrami Linden: since it'll be the de facto standard soon
Kippie Friedkin: Ah, good to know. I have been getting a lot of questions from clients about that date.
Amy Faddoul: Well thats all I needed to know. This many Lindens in one spot makes me nervous. Ciao torley, Lindens. At al
Torley Linden: :)
Torley Linden: We're friendly!
Zen Linden: YOU MUST FEAR US!
Kippie Friedkin: lol
Pastrami Linden: especially me-
Torley Linden: Oh boy, mixed messages!
Torley Linden: ;)
Pastrami Linden: I just Pammed my pan
Kippie Friedkin: ha
Kippie Friedkin: Small group today
Pastrami Linden: [13:14] Arokh Takakura: Question, brad: Do you think the onboard graphics, though sufficiently powerful are the cause of my extreme slowness running Secondlife on a perfectly up to date and decent system, windlight or otherwise?
Arokh Takakura: Whoops.
Arokh Takakura: Wrong name.
Zen Linden: Arokh, what's does it say under Help->about second life... does it say your card is a 6600?
Arokh Takakura: XD Man my head is in a spin today.
Arokh Takakura: oh wait.
Arokh Takakura: Geforce 6100 nForce 405
Arokh Takakura: PCI sse2
Zen Linden: there you go
Arokh Takakura: 3DNOW! whatever that means.
Brad Linden: onboard graphics often have difficulty getting up to date drivers, that could also contribute to the slowdown
Zen Linden: 6100 is slow
Zen Linden: i believe we default that to low settings
Brad Linden: but yes, 6100 is a much different story from 6600
Arokh Takakura: Could you reccomend me a good graphics card for secondlife? my spending limit is around £400.
Brad Linden: I just bouth a $100 geForce 8500GT for my home machine
Brad Linden: it runs pretty nicely for me
Torley Linden: You may also wanna see "Typical Frame Rate Performance by Graphics Card/GPU" @ http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/11/15/typical-frame-rate-performance-by-graphics-cardgpu/
Arokh Takakura: I'm hoping to break the 20fps barrier. :P
Pastrami Linden: Arokh, I caught this one late in the conversation- you have an otherwise killer rig, yes?
Zen Linden: 8800 GT goes for around $220
Arokh Takakura: Yes pastrami.
Torley Linden: Somewhat more expensive is the 8800GT, which has good price/performance ratio... what Zen said too.
Zen Linden: and gives you the best bang for your buck
Arokh Takakura: 3 gig of ram.
Arokh Takakura: 5.6 dual core AMD athlon xp.
Funk Schnook: Im on a 8800 gts right now and getting 18fps
Brad Linden: I was constrained by my power supply
Arokh Takakura: I have a rather sizeable power supply.
Pastrami Linden: wow that is a sick rig
Torley Linden: Heya Funk!
Funk Schnook: hey torley
Pastrami Linden: Arokh, do you for a fact if you can disable your onboard?
Torley Linden: I get a thrill out of power on a budget so... I like good deals.
Arokh Takakura: I can cannibalize my home made rig to customise this one.
Zen Linden: Funk is that on high or ultra?
Torley Linden: Onboard graphics are usually disable-able in the BIOS, I think?
Arokh Takakura: I think I can Pastrami.
Funk Schnook: its like a tweaked utlra
Pastrami Linden: yeah, Arokh, as long as you can- it should be pretty easy -upgrade away
Funk Schnook: I customise it
Pastrami Linden: that is an otherwise great machine
Arokh Takakura: perhaps I can combine the graphics with the onboard and run them together?
Pastrami Linden: sometimes
Pastrami Linden: check your bios
Pastrami Linden: sometimes all it takes is the *presence* of a card to disable it
Pastrami Linden: sometimes it's a bios thing
Arokh Takakura: £400 is about $800
BigPapi Linden: arokh, you can't run them together.
Kippie Friedkin: I am on a MacBook Pro and typically get between 10-13 fps on Mid
Zen Linden: yeah, with an upped ultra, funk, that sounds about right
Torley Linden: Yeah Arokh, that's an *ample* budget for a graphics card.
Zen Linden: fresnel reflection on ultra and a high draw distance, yeah, it's gonna hit it pretty hard
Funk Schnook: I just reset it to high and get 28fps
Arokh Takakura: not in the ripoff UK :P computer stores tend to add £100 to stuff for fun.
Arokh Takakura: it's VAT really.
Arokh Takakura: :P
Kippie Friedkin: Think it's time to tweak my settings :)
Zen Linden misses a strong dollar
Zen Linden: and pound-dollar parity
Torley Linden: Ack, good point. :\
Arokh Takakura: Heh.
Arokh Takakura: Law Enforcement pays well.
Arokh Takakura: I'm pretty much balanced between my warranty and my power output though.
Funk Schnook: by the way I have region default lighting left on and it looks quite decent here. is it possible to find out what this sim is set to?
Arokh Takakura: if I modify it the warranty goes poof.
Torley Linden: Funk: Default day cycle, 1:33 PM.
Funk Schnook: ok thanks
Arokh Takakura: he means 1:22pm
Funk Schnook: yeah I guessed
Pastrami Linden: wow, questions pretty light this week
Torley Linden: You can check in World menu > Environment Settings > Environment Editor.
Zen Linden: grid borkage affected it methinks
Pastrami Linden: perhaps a sign we're closer and closer to RC, eh Torley? :)
Arokh Takakura: Okay, I have a fun question for you.
Pastrami Linden: ahh, that too
Torley Linden: Since 24 hours of a "real Earth day" correspond to 4 hours of a SL day, that maps pretty tightly.
Pastrami Linden: :)
Torley Linden: Haha Pastrami, good observation.
Torley Linden: Yea, we've sure treaded a lot of ground, had many adventures...
Pastrami Linden: well, Zen's is better
Arokh Takakura: I used to run SL on my home built system which was a modified rig with lighting and everything.
Torley Linden: I could do a Rutger Hauer-esque Bladerunner speech.
Torley Linden: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe! Or you would, because you were with us all along!"
Funk Schnook: guess we have no questions today?
Torley Linden: If any questions come up, by all means IM them to Pastrami!
Pastrami Linden: yep
Arokh Takakura: it had a 1.2 ghz AMD Athlon too, but only a single core, and about 512mb of ram, and a 256mb graphics card that Secondlife refused to register as 256 and claimed it was 128.
Arokh Takakura: but I got about 10fps or more from it.
Torley Linden: Loose ends, hot issues we should be aware of, etc.? I know some folks have had trouble making it due to service issues today. :\
Torley Linden: Arokh: Hmmm... Second Life currently fails to recognize that? We have had detection problems in that vein earlier, usually applicable to a lot more graphics card memory tho, e.g., 640 MB.
Torley Linden: Hi Edan!
Pastrami Linden: wow this magazine is cool
Torley Linden: Oooh look at this mag from Frolic!
Torley Linden: WindLight pictures too!
Pastrami Linden: yep
Edan Borrelly: Hi!
Arokh Takakura: Don't hide it share it :P
Pastrami Linden: Funk Schnook: when are you planning on setting up a bigger servey like the one you had on your last blog entry?
Arokh Takakura: Are there any plans in the future for a working voice client for Linux?
Torley Linden: Frolic's coming over... pull the mag out again! =)
Pastrami Linden: Funk, good thing you brought it up- I'll look into it next week
Funk Schnook: yeah I think we need more than 100 opinions really to get a better idea
Torley Linden: Arokh, last I heard that was still being worked on, but Tofu Linden (who specializes in Linux among other things) knows more. I'd possibly check with him, and Steve would know too, I reckon.
Pastrami Linden: Funk, agreed
Torley Linden: *does a quick check for WindLight pictures on Flickr*
Arokh Takakura: I know a few people are making clever workarounds by running the voice executable in Wine.
Funk Schnook: I added a comment about your sunset question... I said the last sunset had the wrong name but the right light we liked. So we need a new "nice day" default preset up there we can shortcut
Arokh Takakura: along with the windows client.
Torley Linden: Ooh, there are 8,624 pictures tagged "windlight" on Flickr.com , and doesn't include actual WindLight content that just wasn't tagged.
Torley Linden: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=windlight&s=rec&ss=2&ct=6&z=t
Torley Linden: Easy thumbnail view... wow, the hits just keep on coming.
Jeremy Linden wonders how many of those were posted by Torley.
Torley Linden: A lot of beautiful avatar ones.
Funk Schnook: the new sunset is definately a more realistic sunset... but I just dont need to use a sunset much
Torley Linden: Haha Jeremy!
Torley Linden: Pastrami, maybe you wanted to talk about what else you were going to adjust in the day cycle to make it even better?
Torley Linden: (He was mentioning to me earlier, exciting stuff.)
Arokh Takakura: Can someone loan me 10l to upload a picture? :P
Pastrami Linden: sure Torley
Pastrami Linden: give me one sec
Funk Schnook: by the way Ive been messing with the crytech2 sandbox... we need shadows so bad it hurts
Torley Linden: Shadows are seemingly inevitable and eventual, I know what great depth they can add too!
Torley Linden: It's like "Now that we've got this, here's what we want next!"
Pastrami Linden: Funk, agreed
Funk Schnook: that engine is years ahead though
Funk Schnook: the hardware will need to catch up
Torley Linden: Wow, lotus position looks great in WindLight... http://www.flickr.com/photos/zonja/2155830850/in/photostream/
Torley Linden: How very tranquil.
Torley Linden: I like how that goes with the water reflections.
Zen Linden: looks like my sort of girl
Torley Linden: :D
whathavidone Cryotank: I don't think I could handle shadows. My graphics card isn't that great.
Torley Linden: Sweet hanggliding shot... http://www.flickr.com/photos/rafeal/2158041884/
Pastrami Linden: hey I have a question for you guys-
Pastrami Linden: do you know if we still have water ripple errors?
Pastrami Linden: as in , wave textures being too grainy/repetitive?
Frolic Mills: yesterday looked good
Kippie Friedkin: haven't noticed any errors recently
Pastrami Linden: sweet
Torley Linden: I gotta check the public issue on that...
Funk Schnook: the water looks differnt to me now compared to the last WL
Zen Linden: I don't think it's been adjusted, i think we probably need to tweak it
Funk Schnook: I updated my drivers though... it looks rougher or something
Zen Linden: it does look a little grainy
Funk Schnook: I can see a repeating pattern
Pastrami Linden: yeah that's what I'm referring to
Funk Schnook: it looked pretty good before
Zen Linden: i don't know what can be done about the repeating pattern, but yeah, i think it probably does need some tweaking
Arokh Takakura: I live in the land of real Windlight :P
Funk Schnook: did we get people complaining about the old water?
Zen Linden: for the graininess
Funk Schnook: I liked it
Zen Linden: no, people generally liked it
Pastrami Linden: Zen, it's not a preset thing, I don't think
Zen Linden: yeah, but it's parameters fed into the shader
Pastrami Linden: it's one of those things where in a given release it "swtiched"
Funk Schnook: oh so this is a bug? not an intentional change?
Pastrami Linden: right
Funk Schnook: ah ok
Torley Linden: There was one issue I'm trying to find on the public Issue Tracker where they noticed something changed with the shaders... it has pictures too... unomomento... Michi Lumin reported it...
Zen Linden: the frequency of the noise needs to be tweaked a bit
Pastrami Linden: I haven't touched the presets in forever
Pastrami Linden: they were always dandy
Arokh Takakura: Can I ask a question about Secondlife Audio on Linux?
Arokh Takakura: I know it's not entirely related.
Arokh Takakura: but i suppose it's in relation to the client.
Torley Linden: Water in WindLight build 75762 is too rough and static - older versions were favorable. - http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3889
Torley Linden: That would be the one, I should import that for tracking.
Funk Schnook: oh yeah someone asked me to vote on that and I didnt even look at it
Funk Schnook: I didnt relaise that was the issue
Pastrami Linden: http://jira.secondlife.com/secure/attachment/13759/water-change-1.jpg
Pastrami Linden: yeah, that was the jira Torley
Jayalli Hawthorne: I was wondering if anyone knows what was happening earlier today with the inventory and rezzing issues?
Torley Linden: Jayalli, did you see our blog post on it?
Torley Linden: http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/01/03/sl-inventory-issues-at-this-time/
Jayalli Hawthorne: no just the watch out post
Jayalli Hawthorne: I will check out the blog thanks
Torley Linden: NP!
Pastrami Linden: so re: aesthetics, to address your point, Torley-
Arokh Takakura: Thanks for your help and answers guys, I'm off to go mount a graphics card on my rig.
Arokh Takakura: :P
Torley Linden: All the best with that, Arokh! Thanks for coming!
Pastrami Linden: I'm going to be doing some minor tweaks- midday will get better (more rounded, less washed out clouds)
Arokh Takakura: No problem.!
Arokh Takakura: Byee!
Pastrami Linden: and better contrast still
Pastrami Linden: sunset will get a bit brighter
Pastrami Linden: some minor things elsewhere
Pastrami Linden: that's about it
Pastrami Linden: [13:39] Funk Schnook: since no one is mentioning any major bugs, can we get the smaller ones sorted out? :) http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3198 footshadow problems
Funk Schnook: runitai already mentioned he hates working on footshadows
Torley Linden: I remember that bug, Funk! I haven't seen it myself yet, tho (I know we have similar GPUs); they may've shown up infrequently and I didn't notice... has anyone?
Funk Schnook: but I mean no one has stated they are even thinking of working on it
Arokh Takakura: Ack.
Arokh Takakura: :)
Funk Schnook: it seems to be linked to imposters some way
Pastrami Linden: foot shadows will probably go the way of the dinosaurs once we get real shadowing
Arokh Takakura: Second attempt!
Torley Linden: Yeah, right now we're generally focusing on a lot of the big critical clusters of bugs, like incompatibilities with certain hardware.
Torley Linden: The ones that've been a problem for awhile that we hate!
Pastrami Linden: yeah
Torley Linden: Or, if hate's too strong a word, "passionately abhor". ;)
Pastrami Linden: Funk Schnook: can you also talk about the optimizatins on transparent textures. Right now its just not pleasing to the eye. Any plans to make it work better? http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3101
Pastrami Linden: hehe
Pastrami Linden: we just brought this one up today
Pastrami Linden: it's been elevated to Critical
Torley Linden: ^ Hehe, aye.
Hypatia Callisto: I get a fairly odd bug, that I can only fix by reducing my memory my card uses in Windlight - its a 7600 GS, the graphics corrupt, I am unsure if there's an entry for it
Torley Linden: Lemme bump up the PJIRA too...
Torley Linden: *does it right now*
Pastrami Linden: Hypatia, please IM questions to me so I can queue them up correctly
Pastrami Linden: thanks!
Funk Schnook: cool coz honestly it was getting to me :P
Pastrami Linden: Funk, understood!
Funk Schnook: I see lots of glasses on peoples faces going opaque etc
Pastrami Linden: hehe
Torley Linden: Haha, yup, i've heard other complaints too.
Funk Schnook: but I didnt wanna make a big deal about it
Pastrami Linden: maybe they're solar-reactive
Pastrami Linden: the new presets are pretty bright
Torley Linden: I know this, even in small amounts on the screen, ruins the overall look of some scenes.
Aimee Trescothick puts her glasses on
Torley Linden: It's like, you're trying to take a pretty picture, then something JAGS YOUR EYE!
Torley Linden: WHAT IS THAT!? OMG!
Pastrami Linden: Al Sonic: Another thing revealed by the 'Ice-like' water setting is that a Wave Direction of "0" isn't exactly 0.
Pastrami Linden: Al, can ou elaborate
Pastrami Linden: ^you
Arokh Takakura: Guys, you're having serious teleportation issues.
Arokh Takakura: And boder crossing.
Torley Linden: Oh yeah, that's a preset I did to look icy... the water still looks like it's moving?
Arokh Takakura: I got logged out every attempt.
Arokh Takakura: Teleports seem to log you out every single try.
Torley Linden: Sorry Arokh, we know about that, our ops people and others are working on it.
Arokh Takakura: Okay great. :)
Al Sonic: One would suppose the water would stand perfectly still at perfectly 0.00. But the wave settings are a little off and they still move.
Arokh Takakura: I'm gonna give it another shot.
Arokh Takakura: Arokh, Away!
Torley Linden: Al, I remember seeing that in the Issue Tracker, https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3195
Al Sonic: Ah thanx.
Torley Linden: "Wave Direction set to 0.00: Water does not stop flowing"
Pastrami Linden: alright Torley- just internalize it and assign to me
Torley Linden: Will do.
Pastrami Linden: if it isn't already
Pastrami Linden: thx
Pastrami Linden: [13:46] Hypatia Callisto: I get a fairly odd bug, that I can only fix by reducing my memory my card uses in Windlight - its a 7600 GS, the graphics corrupt, I am unsure if there's an entry for it - it has 256 mb memory, the only think I can do to improve is to reduce the amount of texture memory the card uses to 128. I see no such issues on my 128 mb 7200 card
Pastrami Linden: that sounds awfully familiar- Zen, Torley- thoughts?
Torley Linden: Hmmm... Hypatia, how do the graphics corrupt? Do you have screenshots?
Jeremy Linden: I get that sometimes on my 7800 GS. Did I ever file it?
Pastrami Linden: I know we have some issues with graphics memory and the slider
Torley Linden: Not that I recall, Jeremy.
Torley Linden: What happens if you change your memory usage to slightly lower, Hypatia? Like 208 MB?
Zen Linden: hmm... steve was the one who knows the most about that as he fixed it. I haven't been looking at that lately. How hot is it on pjira?
Jeremy Linden: It's not WindLight specific for me, though.
Pastrami Linden: Jeremy, it totally sounds like your next lineshould have been "No. Because I'm not a sissy. I DEAL WITH IT" :)
Hypatia Callisto: yeah, they put wrong parts of the texture on different parts - like it misses little rectangular pixes of the texture, it looks like they have noise all over them
Torley Linden: I haven't seen many specific complaints of this Zen, so I'd say "not hot/not noticed enough" for now.
Torley Linden: Hypatia and Jeremy's reports are actually the first I've heard.
Pastrami Linden: yeah Hypatia if you have a fix for now, that's good
Zen Linden: is there a pjira and jira for it?
Hypatia Callisto: I had it before on the old client
Funk Schnook: I have a 512MB card but set the slider to 128MB otherwise I get mem leaks in all sl clients
Hypatia Callisto: but I reduced again to 128 to fix it
Torley Linden: I haven't seen it if so, Zen... Hypatia, can you please see if this is already reported on our Issue Tracker? And if not, file an issue and let me know the # so we can further investigate?
Torley Linden: It sounds like it's easily reproducible enough on your hardware?
Zen Linden: hypatia, what happens if you bump it down only to 240?
Zen Linden: still problems?
Torley Linden: (E.g., it happens EVERY time you set texture memory usage to 256 MB?)
Hypatia Callisto: yeah it repros without fail on my XP system, I'm running on my Vista system atm though. Yeah, it happens all the time, but only if I go into a high texture environment, it happens less often in the skybox
Torley Linden: Eeenteresting. Same/similar thing for you, Jeremy?
Hypatia Callisto: go down to ground level I get it constantly, on everything, my clothes, my skin, prims
Zen Linden: have you tried settings between 256 and 128?
Hypatia Callisto: I would still get it until I went down to 128, and sometimes even at 128
Jeremy Linden: Torley, Pastrami... I remember talking to Steve about this- he was able to give a better technical explanation of what was happening, but his cure basically amounted to "lower the graphics hardware memory setting". maybe now that I'm not the only one, we can get more in-depth on it :-)
Zen Linden: (i'm wondering if on autodetect, we should just bump everyone's mem down just a little).
Hypatia Callisto: in which case only a restart of sl would fix
Pastrami Linden: just a.... just a little
Pastrami Linden: :)
Zen Linden: just a little bit :)
Funk Schnook: if I do an autodetect it doesnt change my mem slider
Hypatia Callisto: and on the skin, if it bakes like that, everyone sees it
Zen Linden: yeah, the defaults button in WL doesn't affect that now, but we still look at that stuff the first time you boot up a new client, funk
Torley Linden: Jeremy: Ah, good to know.
Funk Schnook: ah ok. I thought when you ticked the checkbox "auto-detect" it runs the same routine
Funk Schnook: when I do that, it doesnt change my card memory slider
Zen Linden: auto-detect shouldn't exist in WL any more iirc
Funk Schnook: it does
Funk Schnook: oh wait
Funk Schnook: thats for full screen res
Zen Linden: aspect ratio
Funk Schnook: youre right
Zen Linden: yeah
Torley Linden: :)
Zen Linden: i can see how that's confusing, though
Zen Linden: Bad UI on our part
Zen Linden: i'm going to change that
Torley Linden: w00t!
Funk Schnook: I just assumed without really looking close either
Zen Linden: now to say auto detect aspect ratio
Pastrami Linden: any other questions you crazy cats?
Aimee Trescothick: oh one other someone else mentioned to me
Funk Schnook: whens the next release? :)
Aimee Trescothick: the windlight mac download can't be opened on 10.3.9 any more
Aimee Trescothick: whoever's making the DMGs has moved to Leopard I think which defaults to GPT format, which won't open on panther
Pastrami Linden: you mean the package itself
Pastrami Linden: ahh let me contact them
Aimee Trescothick: yep
Aimee Trescothick: there's a bug on jira, one mo ...
Aimee Trescothick: MISC-869
Torley Linden: I'll snag the JIRA for importation, thanks!
Aimee Trescothick: :)
Zen Linden: Aimee, you're running panther? What's your graphics card (I was looking at some mac compatibility issues.)
Zen Linden: ?
Aimee Trescothick: I'm on Tiger, just diagnosed the issue for someone else though
Zen Linden: kk
Aimee Trescothick: yeah, I just reported some Mac issues to Torley
Aimee Trescothick: I'm on a Macbook Pro, X1600
Torley Linden: Yup I got Aimee's IMs and will bring 'em in for the Team's closer look, thanx.
Zen Linden: ahh... arguably the best one to run on since that what a lot of us developed on
Aimee Trescothick: :D good to know
Aimee Trescothick: some recen changes to llgimmediate.cpp are throwing up problems in other bits I think
Aimee Trescothick: don't have much GL experience, but squashed a couple
Pastrami Linden: alright all, I have to head out
Zen Linden: hmm... flushes outside of begin/ends?
Pastrami Linden: good chatting with you!
Hypatia Callisto: take care
Aimee Trescothick: yep, that's the ones :)
Al Sonic: =) Okay.
Torley Linden: Thanks each and all for coming to our WindLight Office Hour! First one in 2008. =)
Funk Schnook: ok guys cya :)
Al Sonic: Yay ^_^
Zen Linden: yeah, I squashed a couple of those a few weeks back, are you still seeing more of these?
Aimee Trescothick: Thank you, and happy new year :)
Stumbelina Ophelia: Bye everyone. Thank you Torley.
Aimee Trescothick: yeah, there's a nasty one that I haven't managed to squash that crashes you if you click anything at all if there are ban lines in view
Zen Linden: hmmm... i'll have to try that one
Zen Linden: thanks for letting me know about it
Al Sonic: I'll be writing up a JIRA issue on the water fog coloration I reported the previous time.
Torley Linden: You're welcome, ta for now!
Aimee Trescothick: np :) torley has the issue no.s for the other ones
Zen Linden: awesome. Torley, I'll be happy to take those
Brad Linden: later all! Thanks for coming!
BigPapi Linden: Later! Thanks for comming!
Al Sonic: <_< Great, NOW I notice all that stuff about the edges of the screen...
Torley Linden: Sure thing Zen, I'll assign.
Torley Linden: :D
Zen Linden: later! Time to add aspect ratio to the auto-detect label
Al Sonic: Okie.
BigPapi Linden: s/comming/coming/
