As you may have noticed from the previous slides, Django's biggest advantage is that it has been widely adopted outside Linden Lab. There are blogs, free books, documentation, mailing lists, irc channels and people all over the world using django. The answer to your question is only a google away, which is a big deal when you're 8 hours away from most of engineering.
We're in the business of building a virtual world platform. We shouldn't be in the business of building web frameworks. Let's use Django.
