Introduction

Page under construction (merging in progress) Changing your avatar's appearance is really easy. Avatar's appearance is composed of Body parts and attachments. Body parts are utterly included in your avatar mesh (shape, skin, eye and hair) and can't be removed (but you can replace them with new ones - watch this tutorial about this subject). Attachments are prims based and can, for example, be rezzed on the ground.

You can easily identify body parts & attachments in your inventory with icons:

  • Inv item shape.png Body shape: It defines the body shape of your avatar (height, musculature, sex, etc)
  • Inv item eyes.png Eye: It defines colours and iris of your eyes
  • Inv item skin.png Skin : it defines the textures to apply on your body shape (skin tone, facial, etc).
  • Inv item hair.png Hair: this item defines hair, eyebrows and facial hair. This body part mustn't be confused with "prim-hairs" which are attachments. A lot of Residents use bald hairs and prefer wearing "prim-hair" attachments. (You can watch this Torley's video tutorial about differences between hairs and prim-hairs)
  • Inv item object.png Attachments: they are not necessary Bodyparts. They have been created with prims. For example "prim-hairs" are attachments. They are often used to replace parts of normal body or to improve your outfit (skirts, belt, etc.).
