Combat regions are regions or parcels of land where the owner has disabled the '''safe''' setting.  This setting is found in the '''Options''' tab of the '''[https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=4058 About Land]''' window.

Whenever you enter one of these parcels, a heart indicator will appear in your top menu bar, along with a percent meter indicating your current health:

You can take damage from scripted objects that have been set to do [[LlSetDamage|damage]], or by hitting something at extremely high speed, including falling!  Don't worry, though- If your health reaches 0%, you'll be teleported safely to your home location.
