For an object to be visible on the World Map, it must be lower than 400 meters on the Z-coordinate (vertical) plane.
 
This is a reasonably high number which allows for creativity with prims, while hiding higher objects that are meant to be [[How do I get some privacy in Second Life|private]], like skyboxes and floating homes.

* 4,096 m for Second Life viewers later than 1.20.x
