  • [9:29] Bjorlyn Loon: =)
  • [9:29] Bjorlyn Loon: Beyers is afk.
  • [9:29] JenzZa Misfit: doink
  • [9:29] JenzZa Misfit: oh there you are Bjorlyn !
  • [9:29] Bjorlyn Loon: Hi Professor
  • [9:29] Bjorlyn Loon: oh good! doggy persona!
  • [9:29] Bjorlyn Loon: my fave
  • [9:30] Latha Serevi: Hi Bjorlyn
  • [9:30] Bjorlyn Loon: you realize every time I see you I have an overwhelming compulsion to go get a border collie in real life.
  • [9:31] Bjorlyn Loon: If I ever give in, you will be held responsible!
  • [9:31] JenzZa Misfit: .. I end up with the visuals of herding sheep
  • [9:31] Bjorlyn Loon: I will send you the pooper pickerup bills.
  • [9:33] Bjorlyn Loon: crickets
  • [9:33] Bjorlyn Loon: hears crickets!
  • [9:33] Bjorlyn Loon: Somebody say something!
  • [9:34] Bjorlyn Loon: Hi Rex.
  • [9:34] Rex Cronon: hello everybody
  • [9:34] Rex Cronon: hi bjorlyn
  • [9:34] Saijanai Kuhn: huh Zha inworld but not in sim
  • [9:34] Bartholomew Kleiber: Hi Rex
  • [9:35] Rex Cronon: hi bartholomew
  • [9:35] Rex Cronon: so no meeting?
  • [9:35] Saijanai Kuhn: zha said there would be a brief discussion of next steps for AWG, OGP, etc in light of the public betat thing starting
  • [9:35] Saijanai Kuhn: and she's in-world so not sure what's up
  • [9:37] Saijanai Kuhn: Hey Fearless Leader (who is now 7 minutes late)
  • [9:37] Zha Ewry: Bah, RL ave insisted on getting lucnh
  • [9:37] JenzZa Misfit: lunch !! ~*~ whoa dude ! ~*~ .. need some
  • [9:37] Saijanai Kuhn: I've been keepig everyone entertained with cute cheerleading outfit sans cute cheerleader
  • [9:38] Rex Cronon: hi zha
  • [9:38] Saijanai Kuhn: That's why so few people are left
  • [9:38] Zha Ewry: laughs hard
  • [9:38] BigMike Bukowski: I'm stanidng on someone arn't I?
  • [9:38] Rex Cronon: if u would have that sai, some might have left:)
  • [9:38] Zha Ewry: I'm expecting this to be short, becuase, I , like a bunch of the groupies is up to my ears in the last minute steps to get the OGP beta happening
  • [9:39] Periapse Linden: Good plan. Tess and some of the other Lindens may not be here today for just that reason
  • [9:39] Zha Ewry: I thought that it owuld be a good time to touch base, on what to expetc, what not to expetc.. and next steps
  • [9:39] Zha Ewry: Oh.. and a heads up...
  • [9:39] Zha Ewry: I will be here next week, and the, from the 10th-31st, I am going to be largely off grid, vacating
  • [9:40] Tao Takashi: Hi
  • [9:40] Rex Cronon: hi
  • [9:40] Zha Ewry: I am.. Sigh. Hauling the laptop
  • [9:40] Saijanai Kuhn: hey Taoi
  • [9:40] Bartholomew Kleiber: Hi Tao
  • [9:40] Bjorlyn Loon: Hi Tao.
  • [9:40] Tao Takashi: is still struggling with getting the interop viewer to compile :-/
  • [9:40] Zha Ewry: I think Linden will be having one public, when they go live on the beta
  • [9:40] Tao Takashi: yeah, I need one now though ;)
  • [9:40] Zha Ewry: /mr nods
  • [9:41] Zha Ewry: yeah
  • [9:41] BigMike Bukowski: I lost the compile instructions in my gmail. -_-
  • [9:41] Tao Takashi: want to have all the tools for developing ready, esp. for AD stuff
  • [9:41] Zha Ewry: Also if you're tryijng to play with the patch..
  • [9:41] Periapse Linden: Yeah, we're working on the final viewer ourselves
  • [9:41] Tao Takashi: cmake just hangs for some reason
  • [9:41] Saijanai Kuhn: Thinking that a toy agent domain would be good to tes new group IM designs
  • [9:41] Zha Ewry: I am posting a verions every day, to the opensim gridfortge
  • [9:41] Zha Ewry: Generally on trunk, around 5:00 pm
  • [9:42] Zha Ewry: Adam Zaius suggested, and I think it's a pretty good idesa
  • [9:42] Zha Ewry: that I put the full, patches SVN to match a version on the forge, when we go live
  • [9:42] Tao Takashi: Zha: is the forum gone at forge? I posted something there
  • [9:43] Zha Ewry: I saw your posts, but.. Hmm.
  • [9:43] Tao Takashi: basically it seems to work though
  • [9:43] Zha Ewry: I'll have to pestrer the groge maintainers
  • [9:43] Tao Takashi: just the problem when I try to call it again
  • [9:43] Zha Ewry: do you properl;y log out, tao?
  • [9:43] Tao Takashi: then I get a traceback and waiting 5 minutes also didn't help
  • [9:43] Tao Takashi: no ;-)
  • [9:43] Zha Ewry: If you don't de-rez, it's going to be grumpy
  • [9:43] Zha Ewry: But.. I think, it should recover
  • [9:43] Zha Ewry: Although..
  • [9:43] Tao Takashi: it's saying that it cannot find the user or something
  • [9:44] Zha Ewry: I saw some odd problems with a build with mysql agent persistent yesterdsy
  • [9:44] Tao Takashi: I also had another thing in the post where the exception could be handled better but that's a detail
  • [9:44] Zha Ewry: Oh
  • [9:44] Zha Ewry: There is a bunch of that
  • [9:44] Zha Ewry: I need about 10 more catches
  • [9:44] Zha Ewry: and better error messgaes
  • [9:44] Tao Takashi: array[item
  • [9:44] Tao Takashi: but raises an exception
  • [9:44] Zha Ewry: Oh
  • [9:44] Tao Takashi: somewhere in RezAvatar I think
  • [9:45] Tao Takashi: item is the CapsUUID
  • [9:45] Zha Ewry: Oh. if you don't do a request first?
  • [9:45] Tao Takashi: yes
  • [9:45] Zha Ewry: Ahh
  • [9:45] Zha Ewry: THAT, I can fix
  • [9:45] Tao Takashi: I was looking for the request first and didn't find it and thought it's not yet in there
  • [9:46] Zha Ewry: takes a note to beef tha up
  • [9:46] Zha Ewry: This is where the pygop code is priceless
  • [9:46] Zha Ewry: I don't excerise that path, of course
  • [9:46] Tao Takashi: well, I only did by accident ;-)
  • [9:46] Zha Ewry: Ahh
  • [9:46] Tao Takashi: but it should be in the test harness probably
  • [9:46] Zha Ewry: But, being able to test all the odd paths, is really good
  • [9:46] Zha Ewry: Yep, Tao, I agree
  • [9:47] Zha Ewry: So.. here is my expectation...
  • [9:47] Tao Takashi: besides that tough request and rez_avatar worked
  • [9:47] Zha Ewry: We'll put out the semi stable patch
  • [9:47] Zha Ewry: People will find dozen issues
  • [9:47] Zha Ewry: At least
  • [9:47] Tao Takashi: next thing is trying out derez if I find the docs on what I have to send
  • [9:47] Tao Takashi: or look at the code maybe
  • [9:47] Tao Takashi: sounds good
  • [9:47] Zha Ewry: Its pretty much, you send a tiny requets, to de-rez
  • [9:48] Zha Ewry: The de-rez, sends a rez to the next region, if there is one, and the reply back to the sender
  • [9:48] Tao Takashi: well, I only have one standalone region at this point ;-)
  • [9:48] Zha Ewry: so. the de-rez, is "roughtly. de-rez, sim ip, sim port, look at, x,y,z " (from memory)
  • [9:48] Tao Takashi: so there will be no one
  • [9:49] Tao Takashi: I will look in the code
  • [9:49] Zha Ewry: k
  • [9:49] Tao Takashi: do I have to preserve presence or something inbetween?
  • [9:49] Zha Ewry: I expect that fixing the things people find, will destablizie code for a few days
  • [9:49] Tao Takashi: or can I just sleep 1 second and then send the derez?
  • [9:49] Saijanai Kuhn: you have the viewer code, as per the usual LL design tradition, that's the ultimate design spec ;-/
  • [9:49] Zha Ewry: No, the Agent Domain does that.
  • [9:49] Tao Takashi: well, I am emulating an AD with my script right now
  • [9:49] Tao Takashi: just to test the interface and find out how it works
  • [9:49] Zha Ewry: Actually, Saij, we're TRYING, to have the OGP document be the spec
  • [9:50] Saijanai Kuhn: I know
  • [9:50] Zha Ewry: Not quite there yet
  • [9:50] Tao Takashi: PR driven deadlines... ;-)
  • [9:50] Zha Ewry: but. we actually changed viewer behavior to match spec, not the other way around
  • [9:50] Saijanai Kuhn: and in fact, it will never be there for the very beginning phase, just for practical reasons
  • [9:50] Tao Takashi: Zha: very good :)
  • [9:50] Zha Ewry: Yes.
  • [9:50] Tao Takashi: except that TP is not really documented properly ;-)
  • [9:50] Zha Ewry: I think more of LL tech decisions are driven by the client than is desirable.
  • [9:51] Zha Ewry: We're working on making sure it is
  • [9:51] Zha Ewry: Its not too bad for an alpha
  • [9:51] Saijanai Kuhn: sure, but even in the best case scenario, that last tweak to get it workign is going to be in the testing code before it shows in the design doc, because that's how it has to work
  • [9:51] Zha Ewry: I also *think* I may be able to simplify region handles a lot
  • [9:51] Tao Takashi: it's not even an alpha ;-) ok, TP might be but if people hear beta or alpha they think about the whole project
  • [9:51] Tao Takashi: but anyway
  • [9:51] Zha Ewry: right after this, I'm going to test that.
  • [9:52] Tao Takashi: and I will try to get the viewer compiled on another machine after that
  • [9:52] Tao Takashi: I wonder how hard it would be to try under windows
  • [9:52] Saijanai Kuhn: Vista!
  • [9:52] Zha Ewry: client, or sim?
  • [9:52] Tao Takashi: client
  • [9:52] Zha Ewry: Its pretty good in windows
  • [9:52] Tao Takashi: opensim is running fine
  • [9:52] Zha Ewry: oh.. and.. you should look at the logs on the client
  • [9:52] Tao Takashi: but I guess I need to install some compiler ;-)
  • [9:52] Zha Ewry: They are pretty helpful
  • [9:53] Tao Takashi: well, first I need to have it work
  • [9:53] Zha Ewry: yeah, that is necessary
  • [9:53] Tao Takashi: I hope at some point somebody will provide nightly builds
  • [9:53] Bartholomew Kleiber: what compiler did you use, Zha?
  • [9:53] Zha Ewry: ahh.
  • [9:53] Zha Ewry: I don't look at the client
  • [9:53] Bartholomew Kleiber: ah, ok
  • [9:53] Zha Ewry: GPL cooties
  • [9:53] Zha Ewry: sighs at GPL pain
  • [9:54] Zha Ewry: Pixel Gausman, who is also at IBM has been doing client work in parallel, on the other side of the chinese wall.
  • [9:54] Tao Takashi: Barth can compile me one ;-)
  • [9:54] Bartholomew Kleiber: yup
  • [9:54] Zha Ewry: The build has been realy painful on the client, because linden is moving between build systems I gather
  • [9:55] Tao Takashi: downloads cmake for windows
  • [9:55] Tao Takashi: well, I heard for the good though ;-)
  • [9:55] Bartholomew Kleiber: I just wanted to avoid compiling all VS environments :-/
  • [9:55] Zha Ewry: So.. I'm going to post how I've been building the opensim code
  • [9:55] Bartholomew Kleiber: great
  • [9:55] Zha Ewry: Oh, yeah, I think . long term for very good, from what I've been hearing)
  • [9:55] Tao Takashi: isn't this described in the opensim docs?
  • [9:55] Tao Takashi: just with a patch <patch before?
  • [9:55] Zha Ewry: Should be, tao
  • [9:56] Zha Ewry: but. doesn't hurt to doc it locally
  • [9:56] Zha Ewry: (mostly with a pointer to the Opensimulator.org pages)
  • [9:56] Tao Takashi: worked for me at least
  • [9:56] Tao Takashi: on mac
  • [9:56] Bartholomew Kleiber: yeah, on mac
  • [9:56] Zha Ewry: I build on linux and windows, with very little pain
  • [9:56] Bartholomew Kleiber: sighs
  • [9:56] Zha Ewry: So.. to level set expectations:
  • [9:56] Bartholomew Kleiber: ok
  • [9:56] Tao Takashi: ok, cmake is installed
  • [9:56] Zha Ewry: Not in grid mode
  • [9:57] Zha Ewry: Single regions for now
  • [9:57] Zha Ewry: and... at the momoent, no inventory on the opensim side (which is a bug not a feature) and.. of course, no asset transfer
  • [9:57] Saijanai Kuhn: what get that implemented now, as the default. You know you can anytime you want, Zha...
  • [9:58] Zha Ewry: sighs
  • [9:58] Zha Ewry: Catherine not withstanding
  • [9:58] BlueWall Slade: what grid/user servers do we poing the OpenSim,ini at?
  • [9:58] Saijanai Kuhn: points out to Prokofy that that was a sarcastic comment if he happens to read the log of this
  • [9:58] Zha Ewry: Just set it up ins stand alone mode
  • [9:58] BlueWall Slade: ashh, ok - thanks
  • [9:58] Zha Ewry: and set your x/y to a multiple of 256 for now
  • [9:59] Zha Ewry: from feedback,
  • [9:59] Zha Ewry: grid mode support is high on the netx thign to do
  • [9:59] Zha Ewry: then.. a more modular patch
  • [9:59] Zha Ewry: 90% of the code is now in 2 places, tho, which is progress
  • [10:00] Zha Ewry: Once we have the tp stuff sorted and stable.. I'm leaning to doing a very thin regoin domain and authenticatoin shim
  • [10:01] Zha Ewry: So.. we can do agent domain, and region domain, and start haviung a coherent conversation about what it means to be in a reggoin domain for trust
  • [10:01] Saijanai Kuhn: cmake installed, and crashing computer
  • [10:01] Bartholomew Kleiber: lol
  • [10:01] Zha Ewry: Odd, Cmake rarely does that
  • [10:01] Saijanai Kuhn: could be just a coincidence
  • [10:02] Bartholomew Kleiber: naaah
  • [10:02] Zha Ewry: OH. and to be very clear
  • [10:02] Saijanai Kuhn: I konw people with Windows machiens that crash if they try to open a browser while running SL, so anything is possible
  • [10:03] Zha Ewry: There is no one-to-one between domains and regions and such
  • [10:03] Zha Ewry: And.. there can be multiple agent domains around. We need to be very clear on that
  • [10:03] Multi Gadget: v2.0.3b by Timeless Prototype, '/44 info'
  • [10:03] Zha Ewry: even tho it makes some of the simplest single sign on desires messy
  • [10:03] Saijanai Kuhn: WB Tao
  • [10:03] Zha Ewry: WB Tao
  • [10:03] Tao Takashi: re
  • [10:03] Tao Takashi: thanks
  • [10:03] Saijanai Kuhn: Cmake isue?
  • [10:05] Tao Takashi: visual studio installs now ;-)
  • [10:05] Bartholomew Kleiber: lol
  • [10:05] Tao Takashi: cmake on mac was hanging
  • [10:05] Saijanai Kuhn: That's the next phase of hte test, I would think. Get two AD's running at the same time
  • [10:05] Zha Ewry: Yes
  • [10:05] Bartholomew Kleiber: it was really cmake???
  • [10:05] Saijanai Kuhn: oh no.
  • [10:05] Tao Takashi: well, that was the process which was running
  • [10:05] Saijanai Kuhn: contemplates the joy of installing new client build
  • [10:06] Saijanai Kuhn: is that a command line utility or an X11 app?
  • [10:06] Tao Takashi: I hope VS-2005 will work
  • [10:06] Tao Takashi: cmdline
  • [10:06] Tao Takashi: it started by python develop.py
  • [10:06] Tao Takashi: and this calls cmake to do whatever
  • [10:06] Saijanai Kuhn: hmmm. Z11 is flakey, but commandline is usually pretty safe
  • [10:06] Saijanai Kuhn: X11 is flakey
  • [10:06] Tao Takashi: and there is no strace or truss on mac
  • [10:06] Tao Takashi: just dtrace but I don't get how to use it ;-)
  • [10:06] Saijanai Kuhn: I recognize the words...
  • [10:07] Tao Takashi: it shows you syscalls and such stuff for a program
  • [10:07] Tao Takashi: so you might see if maybe something is nor found or so
  • [10:07] Saijanai Kuhn: right. Wonder if the Instruments thing would be useful for this kind of hting...
  • [10:07] Tao Takashi: grr, why do I have to register VS?
  • [10:07] Bartholomew Kleiber: sighs
  • [10:08] Bartholomew Kleiber: yup .. it also takes about 90 minutes to install.
  • [10:08] Tao Takashi: next step: install SP1
  • [10:08] Zha Ewry: yikes
  • [10:08] Saijanai Kuhn: urk, so you're running your mac using XP, not with Virtuals?
  • [10:09] Zha Ewry: So.. any other questoins, or should I dive back into the lovely world of regoin handles?
  • [10:09] Tao Takashi: I am busy with compiling instead of programming anyway ;-)
  • [10:09] Saijanai Kuhn: why are region handles such a bitch? I've never quite undestood that
  • [10:09] Saijanai Kuhn: I can see how they'll be a problem later on, but why NOW, when things are so simple (or seem like they should be)
  • [10:10] Tao Takashi: now installing SP1 hangs...
  • [10:10] Zha Ewry: I think, actually, it may have been a confusion way back wehn
  • [10:10] Zha Ewry: the client and the sim, have to agree on some stuff
  • [10:10] Bartholomew Kleiber: tao, do that later - this REALLY takes time.
  • [10:11] Saijanai Kuhn: are there different ways of storying it?
  • [10:11] Zha Ewry: We fixed it by hacking at the handles, but we've cleaned up our code since then and not tested it again
  • [10:11] Saijanai Kuhn: storing* it?
  • [10:11] Zha Ewry: OpenSim has two ways of doing it, and does some very obtuse things, which I may have mis-done
  • [10:11] Saijanai Kuhn: it sounds almost like the multiple personality disorder endian issues
  • [10:12] Zha Ewry: Maybe
  • [10:12] Saijanai Kuhn: I guess whoever was doing it had been looking at the LL client too much and got contaminated
  • [10:13] Zha Ewry: Also. you have to be wicked careful not to ever let the client see two regoins with the same handle and different IP addresses
  • [10:13] Zha Ewry: the client promptly says "OOOPS. Bad" and logs you out
  • [10:13] Beyers Sellers: thanks all for the fascinating convo....just here trying to prepare for Monday's Metanomics show with Zha and Zero. Sorry to interrupt, and have fun talking in whatever strange language that is that you use
  • [10:13] Goldie Katsu: lol See you Beyers
  • [10:13] Saijanai Kuhn: LOL
  • [10:13] Zha Ewry: Which is quite sane, of the client
  • [10:13] Rex Cronon: bye beyer
  • [10:13] Bartholomew Kleiber: bye
  • [10:13] Rex Cronon: beyers*
  • [10:13] Tao Takashi: cya Beyers
  • [10:13] Goldie Katsu: Every niche has elements of its own languge :)
  • [10:13] Saijanai Kuhn: god seeing you
  • [10:13] Bjorlyn Loon: the problem isnt talking in the strange language, it is listening in the strange language!
  • [10:13] Zha Ewry: See you soon byers
  • [10:14] Bjorlyn Loon: bye Beyers!
  • [10:14] Zha Ewry: laughs hard
  • [10:14] Zha Ewry: Not so easy to speak in it either, sometimes
  • [10:14] Bartholomew Kleiber: (wait until you talk to marketing guys)
  • [10:14] Zha Ewry: So.. tow other things to look for...
  • [10:14] Zha Ewry: *two
  • [10:14] Bjorlyn Loon: you guys are doing fine... Im imagining cartoons as you go
  • [10:14] Zha Ewry: When you tp into the linden grid, you sometimes emerge at 0,0,0
  • [10:15] Zha Ewry: So, if you end up under water on a corner. it's a known issue
  • [10:15] Zha Ewry: And.. since all the clients are built on the 1.20 tree
  • [10:15] Zha Ewry: ruth is a particle cloud
  • [10:16] Saijanai Kuhn: Qarl was quite proud of that bit of code
  • [10:16] Zha Ewry: And.. there is a openSim bug, which often makes you show up as ruth on 1.20
  • [10:16] Saijanai Kuhn: oh fun
  • [10:16] Zha Ewry: Well, if you set particles down to zero, ruth is invisible
  • [10:16] Zha Ewry: (or was in the last verions I tested that on)
  • [10:17] Tao Takashi: you should also make sure to set your bandwidth to a lower value
  • [10:17] Tao Takashi: as I usually used full speed and this does not work with opensim it seems
  • [10:17] Zha Ewry: yeah, OpenSim, has some odd issues witht throtelling
  • [10:18] Dahlia Trimble: lower is better,I set it at 250
  • [10:18] Saijanai Kuhn: hey Whump
  • [10:18] Zha Ewry: retry, is your issue
  • [10:18] Whump Linden: Howdy.
  • [10:18] Rex Cronon: hello
  • [10:18] Bartholomew Kleiber: hi whump
  • [10:18] Goldie Katsu: Hi Whump
  • [10:18] Dahlia Trimble: hi whump :)
  • [10:19] Rex Cronon: hello
  • [10:19] Tao Takashi: Hi Whump
  • [10:19] Tao Takashi: yay, now installing cygwin
  • [10:19] Tao Takashi: I guess it takes a whole evening to install everything what is needed to compile a client
  • [10:20] Tao Takashi: and my expectation is that it won't work afterwards anyway
  • [10:20] Zha Ewry: Oh.. and, if you log onto the linden griv via aditi, and you end up with ":" for a name, you probably want to tell whump
  • [10:20] Saijanai Kuhn: haven't seen that yet
  • [10:21] Zha Ewry: Oh, and of course, everyoen is in gridnauts, and has accepted the invite on aditi?
  • [10:21] Bartholomew Kleiber: yup
  • [10:21] Saijanai Kuhn: and one alt
  • [10:21] Dahlia Trimble: accepted the invite? I didnt see it
  • [10:21] Saijanai Kuhn: you have to log onto aditi
  • [10:22] Zha Ewry: I'm looking forward to everone finding bugs
  • [10:22] Zha Ewry: Both exciting, and scary
  • [10:22] Saijanai Kuhn: well, once we (they) get pyogp workign, the bugs will be found asap
  • [10:22] Dahlia Trimble: I did log into aditi... perhaps too soon?
  • [10:23] Saijanai Kuhn: should have gotten an invite for whichever avatars you requested be part of hte beta test (up to 2)
  • [10:23] Whump Linden: [1] is the master tracking JIRA
  • [10:23] Dahlia Trimble: trying it now
  • [10:24] Dahlia Trimble: already a member :)
  • [10:24] Bjorlyn Loon: Zha, you will let me know if I have to do something on that for Beyers?
  • [10:24] Latha Serevi: I'd appreciate instructions on "what to join" (gridnauts, aditi) and to try doing, and how. Any URL have that?
  • [10:24] Saijanai Kuhn: ah, should talk to Whymp
  • [10:24] Saijanai Kuhn: Whump
  • [10:24] Saijanai Kuhn: cringes
  • [10:24] Whump Linden: Latha, you should already be in those groups on both agni and aditi.
  • [10:24] Bjorlyn Loon: lol
  • [10:25] Zha Ewry: smiles and deferes to Saij and Whump
  • [10:25] Whump Linden: Thanks, Zha.
  • [10:25] Latha Serevi: has never even used the beta grid. That's what aditi is, right?
  • [10:25] Whump Linden: Yes.
  • [10:25] Bartholomew Kleiber: You need to do this for your accounts before next Thursday.
  • HOWTO:
  • 1. Launch a release viewer (1.20, for example.)
  • 2. Press Ctrl-Shift-g to bring up the grid selection drop down.
  • 3. Select 'Aditi' from the grid selection drop down menu.
  • 4. Confirm that you've logged in.
  • 5. If you see an invitation to the 'gridnauts' group, accept it again.
  • 6. Check your group list. Make sure 'gridnauts' is in there.
  • If you have trouble logging in, or you don't see gridnauts in your
  • group list on the beta grid, contact me.
  • [10:26] Saijanai Kuhn: I guess you and Beyers want to be able to test the TP, right Bjorlyn
  • [10:26] Bartholomew Kleiber: with me being whump.
  • [10:26] Saijanai Kuhn:  ?
  • [10:26] Bjorlyn Loon: whunders and whurries about Whump hanging right over her head after Saijanai called Whymp.
  • [10:26] Whump Linden: +1 Bartholomew.
  • [10:26] Zha Ewry: There you go
  • [10:26] Bjorlyn Loon: yes, Saijanai, but we can talk about it later. and Thanks.
  • [10:26] Whump Linden: Bjorlyn, I'm okay as long as the cavorite holds out.
  • [10:26] Saijanai Kuhn: That's Whump's thing.
  • [10:27] BigMike Bukowski: Hmm. My machine didn't like cmake.
  • [10:27] Saijanai Kuhn: has a sinking feeling
  • [10:27] Bartholomew Kleiber: lol, another one
  • [10:28] Goldie Katsu: there is no cmake. Oh wait, that's cake.
  • [10:28] Bartholomew Kleiber: like in pie?
  • [10:28] BigMike Bukowski: of course i'm also new to compiling stuff like an entire viewer :)
  • [10:28] Saijanai Kuhn: when it works, it works fine (just takes forever ~ 500K lines of code)
  • [10:28] Zha Ewry: So.. Next week...
  • [10:28] Zha Ewry: We will probably talk about OPP progress, and next steps
  • [10:28] Zha Ewry: and then..
  • [10:29] Zha Ewry: I am out for three tuesdays.. so...
  • [10:29] BigMike Bukowski: Kuhn's in charge? :p
  • [10:29] Saijanai Kuhn: cringes proudly
  • [10:29] Zha Ewry: I am going to ask.. Saij, Goldie and Latah, to chase some of the permisinos/trust issues
  • [10:29] Zha Ewry: *Latha
  • [10:29] Goldie Katsu: nods
  • [10:30] Zha Ewry: I *may* stick my nose in, but.. I'll be 6 time zones further away
  • [10:30] Saijanai Kuhn: well, you're doing the talk with Zero next week. Should be a LOT of itnerest generated from that
  • [10:30] Zha Ewry: and the family makes rude noises when I am online when we are on vacation
  • [10:30] Zha Ewry: sighs
  • [10:30] Bartholomew Kleiber: some of us are 9 time zones away ;-)
  • [10:30] Zha Ewry: the 9YO has been teaching the 3YO to make rude noises too
  • [10:30] Bartholomew Kleiber: but agreed on the family.
  • [10:30] Saijanai Kuhn: pbhhttt
  • [10:31] Goldie Katsu: Ah children watching out for each other :)
  • [10:31] BigMike Bukowski: ok, stupid question, i don't have to use any special switches for a quad core or using more then 3.25 gigs of ram do I?
  • [10:32] Zha Ewry: Ok. I'm off, see you all soon, in beta land
  • [10:33] BigMike Bukowski: seeya zha
  • [10:33] Rex Cronon: bye
  • [10:33] Periapse Linden: / thx zha
  • [10:33] Dahlia Trimble: bye zha :)
  • [10:33] Bartholomew Kleiber: bye
  • [10:33] Tao Takashi: cya Zha!
  • [10:33] Rex Cronon: bye
  • [10:33] BlueWall Slade: thanks Zha
  • [10:33] Dahlia Trimble: anyone know if the beta client will be available for linux?
  • [10:33] BlueWall Slade: Yes please??
  • [10:33] Whump Linden: Dahila, yes
  • [10:33] Dahlia Trimble:  :)
  • [10:34] Goldie Katsu: Cya
  • [10:34] Whump Linden: Linux, Mac OS, Windows builds will be posted.
  • [10:34] Goldie Katsu: wonders if she should sign up for the beta grid stuff or if she's at max limit.
  • [10:34] Dahlia Trimble: gotta go... bye all and thanks :)
  • [10:35] Tao Takashi: I wish they would be posted now ;-)
  • [10:35] BigMike Bukowski: I'm doing it to learn more. As silly as that sounds.
  • [10:35] Goldie Katsu: That makes sense.
  • [10:35] Tao Takashi: but anyway, soon my harddrive is full with all the prerequisites to compile it
  • [10:35] Saijanai Kuhn: Hey, I got back into programming by writing a patch for the client. Its possible to jump into the ocean and learn to swim
  • [10:35] BigMike Bukowski: Mine is as well. Just getting cygwin installed then going to down.
  • [10:35] Goldie Katsu: I did get opensim running on my laptop.
  • [10:35] Tao Takashi: opensim is dead easy compared to this ;-)
  • [10:35] Goldie Katsu: need to figure out how to do a headless re-install on my G4
  • [10:35] Whump Linden: Goldie, with the patch?
  • [10:35] Bjorlyn Loon: thanks for letting me listen in
  • [10:35] Goldie Katsu: yeah I bet
  • [10:36] Saijanai Kuhn: Bjorlyn you and Beyers are welcome any time
  • [10:36] Tao Takashi: now I have cygwin, VS2005, OpenSSL, some SDKs
  • [10:36] Bjorlyn Loon: =)
  • [10:36] Goldie Katsu: I started with the stable build since I couldn't get the DB workign _at all_ on the G4.
  • [10:36] Saijanai Kuhn: Its usually more compresensible (or at leats more English-like) than this
  • [10:36] Goldie Katsu: Was about to instatll mysql to see if that would work better than sqlite
  • [10:36] BigMike Bukowski: Compared to my C++ teacher, you guys rock.
  • [10:37] Bjorlyn Loon: that's okay Saijanai
  • [10:37] Goldie Katsu: (which I thought I had installed on that computer already...which is why I want to reinstall)
  • [10:37] Bjorlyn Loon: see you all later =)
  • [10:37] Saijanai Kuhn: laters
  • [10:37] Bartholomew Kleiber: bye
  • [10:37] Whump Linden: Okay, I'm looking after Beta requests. See you all at Open Sim and or Zero's Office Hours.
