[2018/03/15 15:00] Bugsly Linden: hi!
[2018/03/15 15:00] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): It's 3:00!
[2018/03/15 15:00] Minuet Voir: So it is
[2018/03/15 15:00] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): In grand tradition... We'll wait a bit longer for stragglers.
[2018/03/15 15:00] Minuet Voir: I don't think Whirly will make it
[2018/03/15 15:00] Nal (nalates.urriah): Hi all
[2018/03/15 15:00] Minuet Voir: hi Nal
[2018/03/15 15:01] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Aw, she'd be so excited to see my new box head. It smiles!
[2018/03/15 15:01] Minuet Voir: Depends on her PC situation which has been an adventure lately.
[2018/03/15 15:02] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Oh! You mean like The Oregon Trail?
[2018/03/15 15:02] Minuet Voir: hi Bunneh
[2018/03/15 15:02] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): (Never ford a river...)
[2018/03/15 15:02] arton Rotaru: Gunaaaabend
[2018/03/15 15:03] Minuet Voir: I think my inventory sync is lost somewhere in that 6 week cycle :-(
[2018/03/15 15:03] Minuet Voir: It's been 7 days
[2018/03/15 15:03] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): no sync in 7 days?
[2018/03/15 15:03] Minuet Voir: noop
[2018/03/15 15:03] Minuet Voir: and that was just a notecard, not even any trash
[2018/03/15 15:04] Minuet Voir: lol
[2018/03/15 15:04] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): That's not surprising. We've got that dev poking and prodding at inventory sync, but they don't have a new build of it yet.
[2018/03/15 15:04] Nal (nalates.urriah): I'm over here once a week. Mine updates every week.
[2018/03/15 15:04] Minuet Voir: I've been here 3 times this week poking at it
[2018/03/15 15:04] Minuet Voir: ahhh okay
[2018/03/15 15:04] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): I think we've got who we're getting... Shall we?
[2018/03/15 15:04] Nal (nalates.urriah): Sure
[2018/03/15 15:05] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): So... Hi everyone!
[2018/03/15 15:05] Minuet Voir: oh hai
[2018/03/15 15:05] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): How's everyone doing this week?
[2018/03/15 15:06] arton Rotaru: got a cold, but I'm fine agaian
[2018/03/15 15:06] arton Rotaru: besides my typing
[2018/03/15 15:06] Nal (nalates.urriah): My mouse died.
[2018/03/15 15:06] Minuet Voir: RIP rodent
[2018/03/15 15:07] Minuet Voir: I'll post a google doc about my week
[2018/03/15 15:07] Minuet Voir: kidding!
[2018/03/15 15:07] Nal (nalates.urriah): I'll sell the parts on eBay, so no RIP.
[2018/03/15 15:07] Minuet Voir: really?
[2018/03/15 15:07] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): /me blinks
[2018/03/15 15:07] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): people buying mouse parts?
[2018/03/15 15:07] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): So that's a um... Computer mouse then?
[2018/03/15 15:08] Nal (nalates.urriah): Yeah. It was a RAT7, expensive. So, I'll get 10 or 20 for parts and original box.
[2018/03/15 15:08] Minuet Voir: wow
[2018/03/15 15:08] arton Rotaru: a rat isn't a mouse though
[2018/03/15 15:08] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): http://photos.jdhancock.com/photo/2013-07-01-010715-computer-chip.html
[2018/03/15 15:08] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Did everyone hear the happy news earlier this week?
[2018/03/15 15:09] Nal (nalates.urriah): Rath of Ruth?
[2018/03/15 15:09] Minuet Voir: I read some happy news yesterday?
[2018/03/15 15:09] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Yesterday, MORE LAND FOR LESS MONEY. Today, The Adventure Continues in Linden Realms: The Wrath or Ruth
[2018/03/15 15:09] arton Rotaru: the price reduction on mainland for premiums
[2018/03/15 15:09] Minuet Voir: nomnomnom
[2018/03/15 15:10] Nal (nalates.urriah): Oh yeah. I'm thinking I may have to get land.
[2018/03/15 15:10] Minuet Voir: oh land yes, Linden Realms no
[2018/03/15 15:10] Minuet Voir: (hates her mainland neighbors)
[2018/03/15 15:10] arton Rotaru: there are already posts on the forums from people who are quite pissed about the new look of LR
[2018/03/15 15:10] Nal (nalates.urriah): https://community.secondlife.com/blogs/entry/2319-the-adventure-continues-in-linden-realms-the-wrath-of-ruth/
[2018/03/15 15:11] Minuet Voir: hmm wonder what happened to my subscription
[2018/03/15 15:11] Nal (nalates.urriah): It is a silly cute video...
[2018/03/15 15:11] arton Rotaru: I made it only through half the video actually^^
[2018/03/15 15:11] arton Rotaru: got bored quickly :)
[2018/03/15 15:11] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): So, meanwhile in server land we're working for you in the upgrade mines, hunting for only the best, most stable server os upgrades to polish and bring out into the light of Agni. And we've got some patch notes for our latest maintenance build that aren't *just* internal fixes!
[2018/03/15 15:12] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): (Though, you know, we have some of those too)
[2018/03/15 15:12] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): trust us, internal fixes is good for SL
[2018/03/15 15:12] Minuet Voir: ooooooooooo
[2018/03/15 15:12] Minuet Voir: /me's eyes begin to twinkle and sparkle
[2018/03/15 15:12] arton Rotaru: lol
[2018/03/15 15:12] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): So, DRTSIM-369 is currently on RCs Magnum and LeTigre
[2018/03/15 15:13] Nal (nalates.urriah): Internal fixes... I supposed was gastrointestinal surgury on the servers...
[2018/03/15 15:13] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): We're going to update it in place next week with a new version that adds some logging to help diagnose a possible bug with HTTP servers in-world.
[2018/03/15 15:14] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Plus we've got not one but two new capabilities in this server release (viewers requesting these capabilities will be available later)
[2018/03/15 15:15] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): One is the offline IM delivery capability, making sure you actually-reliably get IMs that were sent to you while you were offline.
[2018/03/15 15:15] Minuet Voir: Does one of those have anything to do with # of scripts being worn?
[2018/03/15 15:15] Minuet Voir: oops, waits...
[2018/03/15 15:15] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): nah
[2018/03/15 15:16] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): The other is a capability that lets you get the current abuse report categories on the fly. No more waiting for a viewer release to get new categories :)
[2018/03/15 15:16] Minuet Voir: Oh nice!
[2018/03/15 15:16] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Also internal fixes. Sorry, we had to.
[2018/03/15 15:16] Nal (nalates.urriah): Support peeps will be happy
[2018/03/15 15:17] Minuet Voir: You can't not do internal fixes. There would be serious withdrawals and confusion.
[2018/03/15 15:18] Bugsly Linden: DRTSIM-340 Going out soon to RC Blue Steel
[2018/03/15 15:18] Bugsly Linden: ^guess what that is...
[2018/03/15 15:19] Nal (nalates.urriah): EEP?
[2018/03/15 15:20] Bugsly Linden: Internal Fixes!!!
[2018/03/15 15:20] Nal (nalates.urriah): :P
[2018/03/15 15:20] Minuet Voir: ding ding ding ding
[2018/03/15 15:20] Minuet Voir: I read the notes :P
[2018/03/15 15:20] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): It's kind of adorable how new and excited Bugsly is about internal fixes.
[2018/03/15 15:20] Bugsly Linden: oh and this is exciting!
[2018/03/15 15:21] Minuet Voir: /me sits on the edge of the cloud
[2018/03/15 15:22] Bugsly Linden: We are making behind the scene changes to CDN if you notice anything different let us know with a bug report
[2018/03/15 15:23] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Hmm, how are we going to see each other in the cloud? It's gonna be full of water...
[2018/03/15 15:23] Bugsly Linden: things like meshes, animations and such
[2018/03/15 15:23] Minuet Voir: Wear goggles with wipers?
[2018/03/15 15:24] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): I like this idea.
[2018/03/15 15:25] Minuet Voir: Pelican approves.
[2018/03/15 15:26] arton Rotaru: thats good
[2018/03/15 15:27] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): I don't understand how that pelican works.
[2018/03/15 15:28] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): I think thats all we got for internal shinies!
[2018/03/15 15:28] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Oh, that was easier than expected.
[2018/03/15 15:28] arton Rotaru: well, it's not doing that much actually ^^
[2018/03/15 15:28] Nal (nalates.urriah): Fish go in one end and poop comes out the other...
[2018/03/15 15:29] arton Rotaru: in which viewer branch can we expect the new caps to be included?
[2018/03/15 15:29] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): that would be a question for the viewer qa or dev
[2018/03/15 15:29] arton Rotaru: that's true indeed
[2018/03/15 15:30] Minuet Voir: TPVM tomorrow @ noon SLT if that's of any help
[2018/03/15 15:30] Minuet Voir: You can get project updates, among other things
[2018/03/15 15:30] Minuet Voir: project viewer* updates
[2018/03/15 15:30] arton Rotaru: I watch the recording of that from time to time
[2018/03/15 15:31] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Live meetings are better than recordings!
[2018/03/15 15:31] arton Rotaru: yeah well, can't be at any meeting actually
[2018/03/15 15:31] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): /me blinks
[2018/03/15 15:31] arton Rotaru: or every meeting
[2018/03/15 15:31] Minuet Voir: I've found that too. Camming on YT is a problem, and my questions don't get answered!
[2018/03/15 15:31] Nal (nalates.urriah): ...yuo can fast-forward through recordings.
[2018/03/15 15:31] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): This is a meeting, right?
[2018/03/15 15:31] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): We're in one of those?
[2018/03/15 15:32] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Pelican agrees.
[2018/03/15 15:32] arton Rotaru: lol
[2018/03/15 15:32] Nal (nalates.urriah): Oh, I so foten try to cam the video... Doh!
[2018/03/15 15:32] Minuet Voir: \o/
[2018/03/15 15:32] Minuet Voir: It doesn't work! Take my word for it. I've tried many times.
[2018/03/15 15:32] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): I occasionally try and bring up a right click menu in the office. It's... Not my finest moment.
[2018/03/15 15:33] arton Rotaru: I ahve a server question
[2018/03/15 15:33] Minuet Voir: /me giggles..."see"
[2018/03/15 15:33] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): all ears
[2018/03/15 15:33] arton Rotaru: on the homestead region I rent, the scripts run % was always above 90%
[2018/03/15 15:34] arton Rotaru: since a few weeks though, it's constantly at ~50%
[2018/03/15 15:34] arton Rotaru: but I haven't changed that much on the region
[2018/03/15 15:34] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): At a guess, someone put about 80% more scripts in the region.
[2018/03/15 15:34] arton Rotaru: not on mine though
[2018/03/15 15:34] arton Rotaru: maybe someone else sharing the same host?
[2018/03/15 15:35] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Well, what've you changed?
[2018/03/15 15:35] arton Rotaru: nothing really. the number of scripts is quite the same as always
[2018/03/15 15:35] Minuet Voir: It's spring. Bunnehs are...doing bunneh things?
[2018/03/15 15:35] arton Rotaru: lol
[2018/03/15 15:36] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Not just scripts arton, what's changed in the region as a whole?
[2018/03/15 15:37] arton Rotaru: also not much, I just have put a few of these changing sheds, which are over there in the corner as well
[2018/03/15 15:37] arton Rotaru: but these do quite nothing until you click the door
[2018/03/15 15:40] arton Rotaru: my suspicion is that the region is on a host that has a few more regions which are kinda script heavy perhaps
[2018/03/15 15:40] Minuet Voir: Was the channel changed recently?
[2018/03/15 15:40] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Regions should not (I can't say "will not") affect each other that way to my knowledge arton.
[2018/03/15 15:40] arton Rotaru: it's main channel
[2018/03/15 15:41] arton Rotaru: so the scripts run % is just for a single region, not taking the host as whole into account as well?
[2018/03/15 15:43] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): The statistics you see are for the simulator, the place you're currently in simulating your existence.
[2018/03/15 15:44] arton Rotaru: yeah, but other regions on the same host can have an effect on that number, right
[2018/03/15 15:44] arton Rotaru: see that's server questions ^^
[2018/03/15 15:45] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): As I said, that "should not" happen. I can't promise any particular behavior (because I'm Mazidox "No Promises" Linden) but I can tell you that's not how things should work as I understand the world.
[2018/03/15 15:45] arton Rotaru: Pelican agrres
[2018/03/15 15:46] arton Rotaru: okay, maybe I just wait a few weeks and see how things go
[2018/03/15 15:46] Minuet Voir: btw, Linden Realms is RUINED!!!11!!!!! in case you haven't heard
[2018/03/15 15:46] arton Rotaru: would restarting the region multiple times could help to take it to another host?
[2018/03/15 15:47] Minuet Voir: Patch is so funneh
[2018/03/15 15:47] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): it might
[2018/03/15 15:47] arton Rotaru: at least there is a chance it could end up on another host?
[2018/03/15 15:48] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): If you were right about how you've been impacted by simulators on the same host, a restart might, possibly, maybe have a chance of improving your situation. ~~Mazidox "No Promises" Linden
[2018/03/15 15:49] arton Rotaru: kk, I may give that a try then. Although I'm always afraid the region doesn't come back when I restart it lol
[2018/03/15 15:49] Minuet Voir: huh?
[2018/03/15 15:49] Minuet Voir: Why is that?
[2018/03/15 15:50] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): it should, if not give support a holler
[2018/03/15 15:50] arton Rotaru: well, seeing your second home vanish infront of your eyes does hurt a little ^^
[2018/03/15 15:50] Minuet Voir: I feel that way when I have to reboot my PC (especially with an update pending)
[2018/03/15 15:50] arton Rotaru: the region never failed, and I'm there since 2009 already :)
[2018/03/15 15:51] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): I restart regions on a literally daily basis, including my home region. I promise it's extremely rare for regions not to come back. :)
[2018/03/15 15:51] arton Rotaru: yeah I know. but....well.... ya know.... WE LOVE SL^^
[2018/03/15 15:51] Minuet Voir: unless you've effed it up pretty good in the first place, which is not easy to do
[2018/03/15 15:52] arton Rotaru: I just do restarts when the memory is kinda high
[2018/03/15 15:52] arton Rotaru: and that's rare too
[2018/03/15 15:52] Caleb the Cable Guy (caleb.linden): especially with Second Life Server channel running on your region it should be cool
[2018/03/15 15:52] arton Rotaru: yeah
[2018/03/15 15:53] Minuet Voir: Go for an RC. Live on the edge. :D
[2018/03/15 15:53] arton Rotaru: lol
[2018/03/15 15:53] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): But we don't just put untested things out on RC either. We care a lot about your experience!
[2018/03/15 15:53] Minuet Voir: spice things up
[2018/03/15 15:53] arton Rotaru: lol
[2018/03/15 15:53] arton Rotaru: I'm fine with main channel
[2018/03/15 15:53] Minuet Voir: I've somehow mostly ended up with Magnum regions
[2018/03/15 15:53] arton Rotaru: I have always an RC viewer though
[2018/03/15 15:54] Minuet Voir: and survived!
[2018/03/15 15:54] arton Rotaru: there are a few regions connected to it as well. so keeping it on main channel is ok
[2018/03/15 15:55] arton Rotaru: I remeber the time when large portions of the grid were on RC channels
[2018/03/15 15:55] arton Rotaru: forget what it was about, I think some script changes or something
[2018/03/15 15:55] arton Rotaru: Nal might know
[2018/03/15 15:57] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Sounds like Nal does know
[2018/03/15 15:57] arton Rotaru: lol
[2018/03/15 15:57] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): The pelican has spoken.
[2018/03/15 15:57] arton Rotaru: well she used to blog about those things
[2018/03/15 15:57] Nal (nalates.urriah): Wait... what do I know?
[2018/03/15 15:57] arton Rotaru: never mind .)
[2018/03/15 15:58] Mazibox (mazidox.linden): Anyway Arton regarding your question earlier I'd say file a support ticket. Homesteads aren't meant for top of the line script performance, and they have some caps built in because they're meant for lighter use than full regions.
