Oh the good old times...
... when we thought that, at some point, we could truly have a Metaverse, with the Second Life Grid at its core, and a plethora of satellite grids all over the planet that could be visited with a 'special' kind of teleport...
Unfortunately, it was a short-lived dream, and after a very successful proof-of-concept, Linden Lab closed down this project, never to try it again...
I've marked this as obsolete/historical, since it wasn't obvious from the text itself.
