An employee of Linden Lab. Linden Lab employees are referred to as “Lindens” because most of them have that last name for their Second Life accounts. Some also have test accounts with the name Tester or bot accounts with the name LLQABot. Lindens who specialize in the community platform have the last name Moderator.

Lindens can have different administrative abilities in Second Life which exceed the abilities of regular Residents. Read more about it in the god mode article. All Lindens are asked to adhere to the Tao of Linden, many are hosting office hours, have houses in Linden Village and are giving their own Linden Bears to interested Residents.

Non-Lindens hired by Linden Lab

There are also Residents with the surname Mole. These are paid builders in the Linden Department of Public Works. However, these aren't normally referred to with the term "Linden", since they don't have any administrative powers.

A group of non-Lindens with administrative powers are members of the outsourced Distributed Network Operations Center (DNOC). Linden Lab hired the company Comsys to monitor the Second Life grid and to troubleshoot region issues. These Residents have the last name Comsys.

Residents with the last name Cascadeo, are working for a company with the same name, which is hosting the Issue Tracker, as well as this wiki.

Those with the last names Scout or StarTek are assigned to support issues.

Shared Accounts

There are several shared Linden accounts for special purposes.

Alexandria Linden	Listed as the owner of Library items (possibly a reference to the Library of Alexandria.
Donation Linden	Collects Linden dollars for charitable causes; has a Marketplace store to sell items like Japan relief bears.
Governor Linden	Owns most public and abandoned parcels on the mainland; she has a really nice house.
Marketplace Linden	Sells Marketplace tools like magic boxes.
MoleMart Linden	Manager of Mole Mart (LDPW), usually operated by Brent Linden and also LDPW's Marketplace account.
newbie_template Linden	Ruth's mom, listed as creator on older library body parts.
OnRezRefund Linden	Gave money left at an OnRez (webstore) account after Linden Lab closed the service.
Removals Linden	Sends emails related to copyright infringements (DMCA).

SculptieRoom Linden	?
Shopkeeper Linden	Sells Linden seasonal content on the Marketplace.
WorkingOnIt Linden	Used in the Issue Tracker to inform that Linden Lab works on an issue although no specific Linden is assigned.
