An employee of Linden Lab. Linden Lab employees are referred to as “Lindens” because all of them have that last name for their Second Life accounts. Some also got test accounts with the name Tester or bot accounts with the name LLQABot.

There are also Residents with the surname Mole. These are payed builders in the Linden Department of Public Works. However, these aren't normally referred to with the term "Linden", since they don't have any administrative powers.
A group of non-Lindens with administrative powers are members of the outsourced Distributed Network Operations Center (DNOC). Linden Lab hired the company Comsys to monitor the Second Life grid and to troubleshoot region issues. These Residents got the last name Comsys.

Lindens can have different administrative abilities in Second Life which exceed the abilities of regular Residents. Read more about it in the god mode article. All Lindens are asked to adhere to the Tao of Linden, many are hosting office hours, got houses in Linden Village and are giving their own Linden Bears to interested Residents.

Shared Accounts

There are several shared Linden accounts for special purposes.

TrickOrTreat Linden	Halloween Linden.
