ToS Issue?

I was under the impression (since I unlike I imagine many have read and understood the ToS) that remote monitoring of chat was against said ToS. Should a script that blatantly defies those terms of service really be in the official script library? -- Fred Gandt (talk|scripts|contribs) 19:04, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

  • ToS states - "CONDUCT BY USERS OF SECOND LIFE 4.1 You agree to abide by certain rules of conduct, including the Community Standards and other rules prohibiting illegal and other practices that Linden Lab deems harmful."
  • Community Standards state - "Residents are entitled to a reasonable level of privacy with regard to their Second Life experience. Sharing personal information about a fellow Resident --including gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual preference, and real-world location beyond what is provided by the Resident in the First Life page of their Resident profile is a violation of that Resident's privacy. Remotely monitoring conversations, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without consent are all prohibited in Second Life and on the Second Life Forums." (I wonder if me pasting that was against some other part of the rules? That would be typical.) -- Fred Gandt (talk|scripts|contribs) 19:36, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
