[2013/10/31 15:00] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, Baker, Duckie, Inara, Jonathan, Lucia and Rex.
[2013/10/31 15:00] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Hello
[2013/10/31 15:00] Duckie Dickins: Hi
[2013/10/31 15:00] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, Maestro.
[2013/10/31 15:00] Rex Cronon: hi maestro
[2013/10/31 15:00] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, TankMaster.
[2013/10/31 15:00] NEEDADISPENSERHERE (ac14.hutson): ello
[2013/10/31 15:00] rcdsQueChatLog: Rex Cronon, you can read the log here:

[2013/10/31 15:01] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Thank you, Rex.
[2013/10/31 15:01] Rex Cronon: u r welcome yuzuru
[2013/10/31 15:02] Rex Cronon: u r sucha freaky looking clown maestro:)
[2013/10/31 15:02] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Hello, Caleb.
[2013/10/31 15:02] Caleb Linden: hey hey hey
[2013/10/31 15:02] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): thanks, I thought I'd dress up as my RL self for Halloween :)
[2013/10/31 15:02] Rex Cronon: hi caleb
[2013/10/31 15:03] Rex Cronon: right. that is how u look in rl:)
[2013/10/31 15:03] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): maestro has some of the strangest outfits :P
[2013/10/31 15:04] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Well, I suppose we should get started: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Server_Beta_User_Group#Agenda
[2013/10/31 15:04] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): This week, the only change was a very small update to the RC channels
[2013/10/31 15:05] Rex Cronon: now we just need baker to dressup like miley:)
[2013/10/31 15:05] Whirly Fizzle: Yay!
[2013/10/31 15:05] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): small, but important
[2013/10/31 15:05] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yep, crash fixes
[2013/10/31 15:05] Duckie Dickins: shh..baker is sleeping under his desk...
[2013/10/31 15:05] Rex Cronon: and dance next to caleb:)
[2013/10/31 15:05] Baker Linden: I'm not sure I have it on the test grid
[2013/10/31 15:06] Rex Cronon: i mean twerk:)
[2013/10/31 15:06] Whirly Fizzle: haha you're a linden, you can import your inventory over :P
[2013/10/31 15:06] Baker Linden: sec
[2013/10/31 15:06] Whirly Fizzle: We need twerk!
[2013/10/31 15:06] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): lol
[2013/10/31 15:07] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): So, that's about it for updates, for now
[2013/10/31 15:07] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): We're still working on group ban testing
[2013/10/31 15:08] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): it's coming along
[2013/10/31 15:08] Thriller Dancer: Say 'on' or 'off'to turn me on or off, or 'help' for more commands
[2013/10/31 15:09] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Simon put together another server maintenance project today, which has a bunch of miscellaneous fixes, including a potential fix for BUG-4152 (that 'parcel full' bug with vehicle region crossing which is rather common)
[2013/10/31 15:09] Project Puppet Wrecking Ball Prop: Free Main memory : 32336
[2013/10/31 15:10] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): I don't expect the new maintenance project will be ready for RC next week, but it might be ready the following week
[2013/10/31 15:10] Inara Breen: /me looks up and swallows
[2013/10/31 15:10] Whirly Fizzle: hehe
[2013/10/31 15:11] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): The floor is yours, Baker
[2013/10/31 15:12] Baker Linden: hmm
[2013/10/31 15:12] Baker Linden: ok
[2013/10/31 15:14] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): looks like the floor belongs to meastro
[2013/10/31 15:14] Baker Linden: So group ban stuff is progressing more, however with Caleb and Maestro's magnificence in finding out things I did wrong, we're still in internal qa. There are a couple issues that I'm currently working on, and one issue that came up today that I'm going to need some time to think about over the weekend
[2013/10/31 15:14] Baker Linden: I've already fixed a few bugs however, so it's still progressing
[2013/10/31 15:15] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): is it going to be a christmas present for us? :P
[2013/10/31 15:15] Baker Linden: just much slower than I would have liked. I'm sorry that it's taking a long time to get out
[2013/10/31 15:15] Duckie Dickins: Best to do it right the first time. :)
[2013/10/31 15:15] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): Better right than rushed.
[2013/10/31 15:16] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yeah, definitely
[2013/10/31 15:16] Baker Linden: I'm touching a lot of systems and I want to make sure it's done properly. I really do appreciate all the patience y'all have with me too :)
[2013/10/31 15:16] Yuzuru (yuzuru.jewell): Good job!
[2013/10/31 15:16] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): I think we've all been in the Software biz and understand
[2013/10/31 15:16] Rex Cronon: is not like we can take u hostage baker:)
[2013/10/31 15:16] Baker Linden: that's true
[2013/10/31 15:17] Whirly Fizzle: We'll forgive you if you twerk :P
[2013/10/31 15:17] Baker Linden: ok
[2013/10/31 15:18] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): *drumroll*
[2013/10/31 15:19] Rex Cronon: lol
[2013/10/31 15:19] Baker Linden: BLUURED LINNEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
[2013/10/31 15:19] Rex Cronon: too bad my graphics card is not good enough to make a small video:)
[2013/10/31 15:20] Lucia Nightfire: or use Mid gfx setting, heh
[2013/10/31 15:20] Whirly Fizzle: Thats okay, Inara will blog it hehehe
[2013/10/31 15:20] Inara Breen: I'm FAR too young for all this.
[2013/10/31 15:21] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): the floor is open if anybody has server/SL topics
[2013/10/31 15:22] Margithe: i heard there was twerking, so i came.
[2013/10/31 15:22] Baker Linden: and there is!
[2013/10/31 15:22] Rex Cronon: right. joing baker:)
[2013/10/31 15:22] NEEDADISPENSERHERE (ac14.hutson): Improved sound functions. I asked about this in the meeting on wendsday. llLinkPlaySound llLinkStopSound and llLinkLoopSound.
[2013/10/31 15:22] Rex Cronon: whispers: joing*
[2013/10/31 15:22] Rex Cronon: join*
[2013/10/31 15:22] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Reports popped up this morning about weirdness with the 'Feed' section of profiles at my.secondlife.com; the web team is investigating
[2013/10/31 15:23] Duckie Dickins: someone should tell the web team we don't like web profiles......
[2013/10/31 15:23] Whirly Fizzle: There has been much screaming about that heh
[2013/10/31 15:23] Duckie Dickins: /me whistles innocently
[2013/10/31 15:23] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): yes, Simon had mentioned that to me, ac14
[2013/10/31 15:23] NEEDADISPENSERHERE (ac14.hutson): ah wasnt sure. :P
[2013/10/31 15:24] Lucia Nightfire: web profiles are evil
[2013/10/31 15:24] Duckie Dickins: it's probably sitting on the bottom of kelly's todo pile?
[2013/10/31 15:24] NEEDADISPENSERHERE (ac14.hutson): its only been two days i dont expect it done right away lol. just was not sure if you heard about it maestro
[2013/10/31 15:24] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): I think he may implement it, though I'm not sure what the actual interface would be (whether those would each be separate functions or some sort of combined one, and whether playback types like llLoopSoundMaster() would be included)
[2013/10/31 15:25] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yeah, that might be a Kelly thing; they're both aware of it
[2013/10/31 15:25] NEEDADISPENSERHERE (ac14.hutson): and adjusting the frequecy of the playing sound.i assume thats more a veiwer side thing
[2013/10/31 15:26] Lucia Nightfire: viewer side would be more freindly I think
[2013/10/31 15:26] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Yeah, modulation and stuff would be viewer-side for the most part. Though you'd want server support to store the extra parameters
[2013/10/31 15:26] Lucia Nightfire: server friendly
[2013/10/31 15:26] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): \o/
[2013/10/31 15:26] NEEDADISPENSERHERE (ac14.hutson): of course. it would be an incrediby useful feature though
[2013/10/31 15:28] Margithe: crickets?
[2013/10/31 15:28] Lucia Nightfire: what other shinies are being looked at atm?
[2013/10/31 15:29] arton Rotaru: Desura :p
[2013/10/31 15:29] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Hm, that next maintenance project is solely bugfixes
[2013/10/31 15:30] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): There are some shinies from other teams, but they're secret for now :)
[2013/10/31 15:31] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): the the one with that really cool feature
[2013/10/31 15:31] Whirly Fizzle: Maybe not so secret when bitbucket emails about forks & the fork name is kinda a giveaway :P
[2013/10/31 15:31] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): like*
[2013/10/31 15:31] Duckie Dickins: I was playing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyDUC1LUXSU in the background since there doesn't seem to be any parcel music. :P
[2013/10/31 15:32] Margithe: Speaking of features.. My partner once said, two or so years ago " If i ever have to move to another sim, thats the end". meaning, a larhe build with contents from other creators (like furniture etc) is close to impossible to move to another sim as-is. is there any way on the back end, to assist with bigger moves?
[2013/10/31 15:32] Margithe: large build*
[2013/10/31 15:32] Margithe: it's still true, if a sim-sized build have to be moved, people rather throw in the towel. it seems... unneccesary.
[2013/10/31 15:33] Whirly Fizzle: This one for example caught my interest...... " Scott Lawrence has forked the repository lindenlab/viewer-release as:
lindenlabinternal/343-fittedmesh" Wonder what that is.... @.@ Cant see the repo but the name gives a good clue :)
[2013/10/31 15:33] Margithe: :O
[2013/10/31 15:34] Whirly Fizzle: (you need to choose more boring sounding names ;))
[2013/10/31 15:34] Baker Linden: time to start making better names for my repos :)
[2013/10/31 15:35] Whirly Fizzle: What is Voorhees anyway? lol
[2013/10/31 15:35] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): /me assumed Jason
[2013/10/31 15:35] Duckie Dickins: yeah like lindenlabinternal/343-supersecretprojectofdoomerrrshinystuff
[2013/10/31 15:35] Caleb Linden: (Jason from Friday 13th)
[2013/10/31 15:36] Whirly Fizzle: Ooooh!
[2013/10/31 15:36] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Margithe : There's a tool that support can use to move an entire region to a different grid coordinate, but I guess that's not what you're asking about
[2013/10/31 15:36] Baker Linden: I was going to use 3 main branch clones of viewer release. My servers are all named after animals that don't give shits. Like Honeybadger
[2013/10/31 15:36] Duckie Dickins: I'm thinking they are moving either because the land baron who rented them the sim is closing shop or they want to move to a grandfathered sim
[2013/10/31 15:37] Baker Linden: Viewers were horror movie slasher icons
[2013/10/31 15:37] Baker Linden: Voorhees, Kruger, Meyers
[2013/10/31 15:37] Baker Linden: though I don't do enough work to need Fred or Mike in there for now
[2013/10/31 15:37] Baker Linden: plus, they're viewers I hack on
[2013/10/31 15:37] Baker Linden: ;)
[2013/10/31 15:37] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): beyond doing a coalesced 'take', I'm not aware of any particular tool to make that easier
[2013/10/31 15:38] Rex Cronon: u know what would be good?
[2013/10/31 15:38] Duckie Dickins: build one and monetize it. :)
[2013/10/31 15:38] Margithe: Coalesced Take of 10000 objects?
[2013/10/31 15:38] Margithe: err, prims.
[2013/10/31 15:38] Rex Cronon: if we had llMoveObject(uuid objKey, string simName, vector pos)
[2013/10/31 15:38] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): gaaa the lag associated with that would make it never work
[2013/10/31 15:39] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): lol can you say broken region? I knew you could.
[2013/10/31 15:39] Rex Cronon: that way a sim could be move quite easily:)
[2013/10/31 15:39] Margithe: There is no way to mirror a sims inventory to another sim?
[2013/10/31 15:39] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): ( 10,000 collesed objects that is)
[2013/10/31 15:40] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): it would have to be in smaller chunks than 10k
[2013/10/31 15:40] And all I got was this lousy DN (tankmaster.finesmith): what good would mirroring a sim do? i can see the advantage of a region, but not a sim
[2013/10/31 15:40] Margithe: I mean, if it would be remotely possible to ask for in a support case. And smaller chunks don't work, because then it won't line up.
[2013/10/31 15:40] Duckie Dickins: I bet it's possible with one very long line of SQL
[2013/10/31 15:41] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): 32,768 characters long.
[2013/10/31 15:41] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): Now type that with no typos.
[2013/10/31 15:42] Duckie Dickins: thats what this grid is for. :D
[2013/10/31 15:42] Duckie Dickins: I bet someone brilliant could clone Morris over onto ahern over there. :)
[2013/10/31 15:43] Whirly Fizzle: Ahern on main grid is now the cornfield
[2013/10/31 15:43] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Okay, I checked with support; changing ownership of private regions is something they do (obviously, both parties need to be involved in the request)
[2013/10/31 15:43] Duckie Dickins: I think the point was missed.
[2013/10/31 15:43] Margithe: Well, it's not about changing ownership. What if you own both sims already (meaning, landbaron)
[2013/10/31 15:44] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): and you want to move all the objects in 1 sim to the toher?
[2013/10/31 15:44] Margithe: and you need all objects on sim A, to go to sim B. Sim B being empty and ready to receive objects
[2013/10/31 15:44] Jonathan Yap: Is the destination region totally empty? That is, the move will overwrite anything there?
[2013/10/31 15:45] Duckie Dickins: My build is here in Morris....someone who owns ahern over there wants to sell it...it has a grandfathered tier price....I want to be able to move my build to the grandfathered tier sim....could ahern go poof and then morris magically become ahern?
[2013/10/31 15:45] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): I think you would rename sim A to sim B and move it to sim B's position (another supprot thing)
[2013/10/31 15:45] Margithe: or even if Sim A is owned by person A, but has a build by person B, and person B wants it moved to sim B (their own, new sim)
[2013/10/31 15:46] Jonathan Yap: Maestro, I thought about that too, but how would they take care of the grandfathering / billing issue?
[2013/10/31 15:46] Whirly Fizzle: Yeah but if you do that usually you lose the grandfathering. They also charge a fee for moving regions on the grid.
[2013/10/31 15:46] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): but my suggestion wouldn't work with grandfathering, since Sim A would remain non-grandfathered..
[2013/10/31 15:47] Duckie Dickins: bummer
[2013/10/31 15:47] Jonathan Yap: For this case grandfathering could be a region attribute that would move too
[2013/10/31 15:47] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): I guess the short answer is that you'd have to do multiple coalesced takes, which would indeed be a pain
[2013/10/31 15:47] Margithe: I'm guessing getting rid of grandfathering is seen as something positive ;)
[2013/10/31 15:48] Jonathan Yap: But, how many times a year would this service be used?
[2013/10/31 15:48] Duckie Dickins: it's all about the benjamins
[2013/10/31 15:49] Margithe: Not too often i guess, but it would make building for an example on a Homestead sim, and then transfering the whole shebang to a full sim a breeze, instead of an impossibility.
[2013/10/31 15:49] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): Bringing back the 'rez at last position' feature would help
[2013/10/31 15:50] Margithe: although on a homestead it would be max 3500 prims/LI, and maybe that works to take coalesced? I would want to try >.<
[2013/10/31 15:50] Whirly Fizzle: As long as you had rez rights at 0,0,0 on the region you are moving everything over to, using "restore to last position" makes it much less painful.
[2013/10/31 15:50] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): although that feature triggered a fair number of support calls when people would accidentally rez their stuff underground (or somewhere else hidden)
[2013/10/31 15:50] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): and it works under those conditions.
[2013/10/31 15:50] Whirly Fizzle: Yeah
[2013/10/31 15:51] Whirly Fizzle: Its a really useful feature but needs to be used with caution
[2013/10/31 15:51] Margithe: Hmm, i guess that could work
[2013/10/31 15:51] Whirly Fizzle: If I remember right, it was originally a LL feature to aid moving regions over to Zindra
[2013/10/31 15:52] Duckie Dickins: once we dragged a furnished apartment building with 16 apartments across a sim border. The simulators didn't like it very much...there was furniture strewn over the both sims...guess it didn't like that many prims crossing at once. :)
[2013/10/31 15:53] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): ouch
[2013/10/31 15:54] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): It's amazing what users can think of that programmers didn't allow for.
[2013/10/31 15:55] Rex Cronon: no
[2013/10/31 15:55] Rex Cronon: what is really amazing is that programmers program programs without asking users for requirments:)
[2013/10/31 15:55] Margithe: Hahahaha
[2013/10/31 15:55] Duckie Dickins: it had to be dragged because there was multiple owners on the contents with transfer restrictions on some of the furniture....everyone involved gave permission to edit their objects and it was still a mess
[2013/10/31 15:55] Lucia Nightfire: nice Rex, lol
[2013/10/31 15:56] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): Never ask users for requirements, thay don't know what they want.
[2013/10/31 15:56] Duckie Dickins: at least not until they want it
[2013/10/31 15:56] Nal (nalates.urriah): Ask clients what they need programmed all the time. They never know what they want or need...
[2013/10/31 15:56] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): until version 4 or 5 or so
[2013/10/31 15:57] Margithe: Thats why you have to watch the users... like wildlife... then create new enclosures adapted to their needs, not their wants...
[2013/10/31 15:57] Rex Cronon: :)
[2013/10/31 15:57] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): My we are a cynical bunch.
[2013/10/31 15:57] Duckie Dickins: off topic....Maestro...do you have a bear? I need a bear for my collection. :D
[2013/10/31 15:58] Margithe: ..and does the Baker bear twerk?
[2013/10/31 15:58] Mæstro Linden (maestro.linden): yes I do, duckie
[2013/10/31 15:58] Nal (nalates.urriah): Experienced, not necessarily cynical.
[2013/10/31 15:58] Whirly Fizzle: http://clientsfromhell.net/clientstories :)
[2013/10/31 15:58] Duckie Dickins: And how about Caleb. I'd like a bear too.
[2013/10/31 15:58] Rex Cronon: twerking bear? lol
[2013/10/31 15:58] Caleb Linden: can't even visualize that
[2013/10/31 15:59] Margithe: /me can. She has been on the internets very long.
[2013/10/31 15:59] Kallista Arliss (kallista.destiny): I could, but refuse to
[2013/10/31 15:59] Caleb Linden: lol
[2013/10/31 15:59] Duckie Dickins: yeah...a bear on agni. :) I sometimes forget where I'm at
