Escorts and Escorting in the context of Second Life historically has meant the exchange of Lindens for cybersex by some means, generally in the context of sexual roleplay. This can include use of scripted objects such as SexGen beds or other animations. In recent years, voice and webcam girls have appeared bringing a high degree of reality directly into the grid.

Because no actual sexual contact occurs, escorting, as commonly practiced in Second Life, is completely legal in the United States.
