Eligibility

Any accredited educational institution or organization with a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit tax status is eligible for a discount. In order to confirm eligibility, you must send the following to education@lindenlab.com or nonprofit@lindenlab.com (whichever is applicable):

  • Proof of educational accreditation, 501(c)(3) status or similar document; and
  • Government-issued photo ID

Organizations with verified eligibility will receive a discount subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein (each a “Participating Organization”). In the event that any conduct in violation of these terms and conditions (whether by you or someone else on the Discounted Regions, as defined below) is discovered or reported, the Discount (as defined below) shall be forfeited and you shall be required to remit payment to Linden Lab in the amount of the difference between the then-current applicable fees and the fees actually paid.

Pricing

Participating Organizations will receive a 50% discount (the “Discount”) on private region set-up and maintenance costs for full regions, homesteads and open spaces (the “Discounted Regions”).

Requirements

Discounted Regions (and any parts thereof) are subject to the following requirements:

  • Activities conducted on the Discounted Regions must be related to the underlying educational or non-profit status of the Participating Organization; and
  • The Discounted Regions must be used for primarily non-commercial purposes. For avoidance of doubt, Discounted Regions (or any parts thereof) may not be subleased.

Invoicing

Participating Organizations are eligible for invoicing of the Discounted Regions. Such invoices must include a minimum of six (6) months of maintenance costs. Additional details can be found at http://specialorders.secondlife.com/

Budget Cycles

Linden Lab appreciates that Participating Organizations may operate with different budget cycles, and to the extent possible, we are happy to arrange for invoicing within such parameters. To discuss your organization's needs, please contact education@lindenlab.com or nonprofit@lindenlab.com (whichever is applicable).
