Talk:Commerce Office Hours Summary - Freebies - 2009-10-14

It's pure coincidence that xstreet will now be able to receive money by doing nothing for every item that is being sold (the freebies must really have annoyed them: they didn't make any MONEY $$$ with it).

It's surely also just a minority that is now boycotting xstreet (I see "ads" for it in many groups in-world), people removing their items from xstreet; people swearing to never buy anything anymore on xstreet...), because, after all, it was the RESIDENTS asking for this! Right?

Another black page in the SL book, yet another screw over that makes the experience for the masses WORSE...

Merchants can moan, and are moaning increasingly, about their income - but where is the money coming from? NOT from the merchants: they (try to) MAKE money: they drain money out of SL. It's the masses that actually bring in the money. The MANY people who rent land from other residents are the ones that pay Linden Lab, NOT the ones that rent the sims from Linden Lab directly. I think that Linden Lab should start realizing that if the masses aren't happy, then soon there won't be anyone left in SL that brings in money.

How are the stats LL? Losing sims? Are merchants complaining more and more that their income in dropping? I wonder why that is.

Boycott XStreetSL!

LL can't get the neck full like it seems. The only way to kick them in their butt is a boycott! No sellings, no buyings any more. Bring them as much loss as possible to make them clear, that the residents are the ones, who make SL, who ARE SL. Ignoring this will cause, that LL never realize, that they can't do what they want with their residents, they will dictate whatever they want, to get more and more dollars. Okay, LL is a business. Yes, they are. They have costs, yes, they have, and they are no community. Increasing fees, because of upgoing costs may be an argue, but in an offical way, in a fair way, not by destroying a very effective tool like XStreetSL, not by charging listings nor listings of freebies. Too many residents have been screwed up by other residents, selling freebies, XStreetSL was one good way to stop that, because everybody was able to check if there are freebies outside for the own needs.

Can we residents show LL who IS SecondLife? YES, WE CAN!

Imagine what will happen, if more and more Premium-Users step back to basic, if possible (you should not own land directly from LL), imagine what will happen, if nobody buys anything for some weeks from XStreetSL. The cost for LL will stay the same. The question is, who has the longer breathe! And to be honest: WE, the residents don't really need SecondLife! There was a world once without SecondLife! But Linden Labs needs residents, PAYING residents, otherwise a lot of people can look for a new job!

Okay, Lindens... the last of you shuts the door!

So boycott XStreetSL, downgrade to Basic-User if you can, take the XStreetSL-Boxes from inworld to your inventory until LL realizes, who is SecondLife!
