Problems with the Charter, id 49269

Arguably unenforceable conditions

The following rules are unenforceable in most cases, since (last I checked) ejecting a Resident from a group does not disconnect their active chat session with said group, and as such serves as an empty threat against only those who wish to be asshats.

  • SPAM is fine, providing it does not get out of hand. If it gets out of hand, the offending members may be ejected from the group.
  • Any person, who openly slanders, harasses or victimizes any group member, through either a group notice, or group chat, will be evicted from the group.

Group Charter prohibits any dispute resolution process

Not only does the referred draft of the group charter prohibit a dispute resolution process, it also prevents peer review of disciplinary action taken by "The Management"

  • The Management of the Group will not become involved in any disputes between members. Such disputes must be handled by individual members in private IM, not in the group chat
  • Should any Group Member breach any of the above conditions, they will be ejected from the Group, without any course of redress.
