Regions in Second Life are flagged with a "Maturity rating" of PG, Mature, or Adult which determines the content and actions allowed within that region. The estate owner sets the Maturity rating. In the case of mainland regions, this is Linden Lab.

Actions or content violating the maturity ratings can be reported.

The Adult rating was added in 2009. See the article about adult content for details.
