Helps you explore Second Life by finding other Residents, land sales, and points of interest:
- Pan around the map by clicking and dragging on it.
- Click a place to set a destination beacon you can follow after you close the map. To dismiss the beacon, click the red arrow that points to it, or right-click the Mini-Map and choose Stop Tracking.
- Double-click a place to teleport there.
Legend
Me | Click to center the map view on your location. The same icon means "you are here" on the map. |
Home | Click to teleport to your home location. |
Check the following symbols to show them on the map:
Person | Another Resident. |
Infohub | An infohub is a place to socialize and find information about Second Life. |
Land Sale | Yellow blocks are for sale by a Resident owner, and purple blocks are up for auction by Linden Lab. |
Events | Resident-run events come in three maturity rating levels: General, Moderate, and Adult. |
Destination beacon | The red ring is a potential destination on the map. This beacon is matched inworld by a red beam of light and an arrow that points to your destination. |
Find on Map
Search for online friends, landmarks, or specific regions.
My Friends Online | List of online friends who have granted you the ability to track them on the map. Click the dropdown to view the entire list, or type to search by name. |
My Landmarks | List of inventory landmarks. Choose one from the list or use the search field. |
Search by region name | Search for a specific region by typing a full or partial name into the search field, then click Find or press Enter ↵. The results field shows all matching region names. |
Teleport | Teleports you to the current beacon on your map. |
Copy SLurl | Copy the SLurl for the current beacon to your clipboard. If no beacon is designated, it copies your current location instead. |
Show Selection | Centers the map view on the current beacon. |
Zoom | Zooms in or out on the map. You can also use your mouse's scroll wheel. Most symbols don't display if the map is zoomed too far out. |
