I'm thinking your 'tangent space' addition might be a bit too nerdy for the Summary box. Maybe it should go in Notes or Examples? On the flip side, for those who know about tangents, doing so would be relegating this useful bit of information to quite far down the article. I've instead left it where it is but moved the advice for calculating the third tangent to the summary footnote. -- Strife <small>(talk|contribs)</small> 15:41, 5 March 2010 (UTC) | |||
I don't think prims really satisfy the requirements for a 'tangent space', as a single manifold they aren't necessarily differentiable where the polygons meet. That said you could consider each prim a collection of manifolds. Maybe this needs it's own article? -- Strife <small>(talk|contribs)</small> 15:59, 5 March 2010 (UTC) |

Re: Section titles
Thank you for the feedback on my edit. I know some MediaWiki-based site is run under the policy to avoid the first level section headings, but I don't think it is not for SL wiki, because (1) the stylesheet for SL wiki seems preventing use of third or more levels (i.e., "===") (and I'm actually trying to avoid them as much as I can) and it is almost impossible to have just one level of section title, and (2) Some pages written by Lindens use the first level section title. Also, I believe it's not bad to use the same formatting for page title and the section title, because the page title and the first level section title are easily identified by the position in the page, even if their styles are same. Do you have any other reason why we should not use the first level section title? -- Alissa Sabre 08:36, 12 October 2007 (PDT)

Correction: 1.20.* uses settings.xml
In How preferences work you added: As of 1.19, this section is outdated. From the release notes, "The settings system has been significantly revamped. llcontroldef.cpp has been replaced with an XML file controlling all settings values: app_settings/settings.xml"
This was confusing me, but after some research I found it is actually for 1.20.* and newer. Scalar Tardis 01:04, 28 June 2008 (PDT)
Tangent Space
I'm thinking your 'tangent space' addition might be a bit too nerdy for the Summary box. Maybe it should go in Notes or Examples? On the flip side, for those who know about tangents, doing so would be relegating this useful bit of information to quite far down the article. I've instead left it where it is but moved the advice for calculating the third tangent to the summary footnote. -- Strife (talk|contribs) 15:41, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
