DanielRavenNest, thanks for continuing to contribute to the Second Life Wiki! You've been very prolific!
As you know, some big changes are coming soon with KB2Wiki and we want to keep you in the loop so work isn't unnecessarily duplicated. Part of these changes will be "canonizing" (making official) some of the content you and other Residents have contributed to, as well as merging content from the KB onto relevant page names here.
In addition, we'll need to clarify when content is useful but is not officially part of the KB (or Linden Lab's stance). A good example is SLetiquette, because that's beneficial, yet subjective. With your help we'll be able to "amplify the awesome", as I like to say. :)
Already re: formatting pages, see our Style Guide. Hopefully you'll find this useful for consistency, even on non-KB pages as a lot of the principles — like how to indicate hierarchies — make broad sense.

Collars and adult content
Hi Daniel!
I got a question related to adult content and since you seem to be very well versed and up-to-date on that I wanted to ask if you'd know anything specific. My question is related to the collar article. Specificly the last sentence where I state that it's not sure, whether or not specific collars are counted amongs adult content or not. The root of that remark is, that a friend of mine - who build collars with certain scripts (like OpenColar and XCite) - was asked to remove them from one of his stores in a mall. Do you know anything specific and could add it to the article if you do so? Would be kewl :-)
Thanks for all the hard work you're putting in the adult content documentation! Way to go!

- Based on the Knowledge Base 6010 Definitions, the main distinction between mature and adult land is if the content is "advertised or publicly promoted". The words "slave", and "BDSM" are filtered in search: Search Filter, but not collar. We do not know how strictly the governance team will enforce the definitions. They may stick to only the exact words in the search filter, or they may decide if a collar contains sexual or torture animations, that fits the general definition of adult. We don't know yet.
- We also have not received guidance about what is "public promotion", beyond search entries. There are many ways to communicate in SL, a sign outside the store, images on the vendors, notices in shopping or BDSM groups, etc. All could use "adult" words (ones on the filter list), or depict "adult" themes. Again, we don't know how strict they will be on this subject.
- You did not mention if he was asked to remove them by a Linden, or by the mall owner. Assuming it was the mall owner, the owner can decide what items his tenants may sell, that's his right as owner, regardless of maturity rules. DanielRavenNest Noe 07:14, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, thx for the explanation! Yeah, it was the mall owner who asked (since who was afraid of the adult content policy change, I guess). Anyway, I added the remark about keywords to the article and left the other part where it states that the current policy is unclear in regards to collars. We'll see how that changes :-)

Sorry for fiddling with your userpage
Hi Daniel! :-)
Just wanted to let you know that I added some <nowiki> markup to your userpage, in order to prevent the {{Help}} template from executing. It would categorize the userpage as a Category:Help Portal page and I guess that's undesired. When you want to include just the navigationbar for easy browsing, you can use {{Help Header|noCat=*}}. That won't include any categories. You may of course remove the other <nowiki> tags. Just figured you might want to have it that way for easier copy and paste access.
Other stuff that might be helpful for you:
- Help:Contents ← General Wiki stuff, I guess you already know that all.
- Quickie Wiki Intro ← More general stuff that you might already be aware of.
- Help:Editors Toolbox ← SL Wiki specific templates.
- Template:Help ← For the full spec of the template, includes more Help Portal categories.
Oh and a short remark to the
boxes.
These have the same effect as when you place text in between <pre>tags</pre>. However, this prevents the insterted text from beeing wrapped when it reaches the maximum page width. It just continues to expand the page. So better just use these for short text (in particular: code, where you'd like to use spaces, since the Wiki always truncates multiple spaces to one) and go with some other HTML magic in cases where the text tends to be longer.
Sorry for interferring all the time ^_^;

- Thanks Zai, Im still learning my way around wiki editing. I just wanted to save some commonly used bits where I can find them easily.
- Oh you're doing very well as far as I can tell! I did the same (storing common code) @User:Zai Lynch/Sandbox (and later on the toolbox). When you stumble about anything I might help you with, don't hesitate to poke me on it. Would be a pleasure to jump in, when I can. Keep up the great work!

Your altering of the Imprudence mission statement strikes me as rather premature, since the issue was only raised today and only started to get discussed today. I would welcome if you add your personal opinion to the discussion and let the initial authoer of the Imprudence entry have their say as well, before creating facts based on personal views. Please revert this specific edit. Thank you however for the overall formatting work. --Peter Stindberg 15:28, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
