#REDIRECT [[Infohub]]

An Infohub, also known as a Welcome Area, is a place where Residents congregate and socialize. It's also the entry point on the Second Life Grid's Mainland for new Residents, after they complete Orientation Island, and (optionally) Help Island.

Infohubs are represented on the World Map with blue ''i's'', like this:

To show them, make sure that the Infohub on the right-hand legend is checked.

==Can I find Infohubs through Search?==

Yes, you can. Click '''Search > Places tab''' and search for "infohub" (it's not CaSe-sensitive). This will show most of the Infohubs, although some are listed using other keywords.

If you click the '''Any Category''' drop-down menu, you'll notice "Linden Location" is among the choices.

==Is there anything else special I need to know?==

The first Infohub you land at after completing the orientation adventure is automatically set as your home location. You can, in fact, set any Infohub to be your home via '''World menu > Set Home to Here'''. You may also set your Home Location on any land parcel you own, or on land that your group owns.
