That would be great, Strife! I couldn't find any other sources with this type of information...and reading through JIRAs is probably not the best user experience. :-) [[User:Courtney Linden|Courtney Linden]] 18:43, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

::: Aha, that! Given the circumstances: I agree the JIRA (and the Issue Tracker in general) is rather raw. But it's also real and it's useful to make Residents aware that it does exist as a resource for bugs, which we want to encourage use of. Going off-site is fine; infact, a number of in-Viewer help articles link to other places as-needed (including wiki articles not in the KB — the end result is still beneficial!).

Are we sure we want to link to a JIRA in Viewerhelp? Just thought I'd check... Courtney Linden 00:59, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

If you want, I could make a dedicated page that you could link to (as to keep the user from going off site and spare them from the user comments). -- Strife (talk|contribs) 01:41, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

I don't see a JIRA in the edits? Was this one that used the "red" or "redbug" templates? If so, those are hidden in-Viewer. - Torley-favicon.png on 2010-03-16 @ 8:50 AM Pacific
VWR-8551 is linked in the Use lossless compression part of the article (as regular part of the text). --Zai signature.png (talk|contribs) 17:50, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Aha, that!
An occasional side-effect is that keeping hot bugs in view helps remind Lindens they exist and should be fixed or better explained if this functionality is going to stay this way for awhile — at which time the text can be amended.
But, (1) the link could be more descriptive so I'll retitle it and (2) if there are other upload limitations we want to summarize on a page, that could be an alternative place to link. - Torley-favicon.png on 2010-03-23 @ 5:21 AM Pacific
