A Community Gateway (CG) is a starting point for new Residents of SL which is not obtained by Linden Lab, but by an established community in SL. These gateways often offer their own orientation path and try to give Residents an easy start. They might even provide an own RegAPI on their website (like GossipGirl or Ben & Jerry's).
