NOTE: This page is for a resident-run activity called "I18N Project" and is not for the internationalization of the project (i.e., SL wiki.) If you are looking for instructions to create international pages on this SL wiki, please read Project:Languages.

The correct title of this article is Project:i18n. The initial letter is shown capitalized due to technical restrictions.

Project:i18n, the Internationalization Project intends to make full use of the features of the MediaWiki platform to:

  • Co-ordinate and encourage communication between and within the many international communities present in Second Life both on the Wiki and in the Grid itself.
  • Assisting the development of under-developed international communities within Second Life (e.g. those with comparably fewer Residents).
  • If possible, arrange for the education of interested Residents to learn another language instead of relying upon translators.

The Internationalization project aims to support Americans as well as everyone else!

Team Members

A list of team members can be found in Category:i18n project members, and you can add yourself to the team by copy and pasting [[Category:i18n project members|{{PAGENAME}}]] to your userpage.

Although not required, team members should be able to help out with at least one of the following:

  • Assist in the translation of the pages on the SL Wiki
  • Research in-world locations and resources aimed at a specific linguistic or geographic community
  • Propose articles useful to the Internationalization project (see the talk page guidelines)

To-Do List

  • Translate articles listed in Category:Text from In-world Notecards
  • Discuss what's necessary for the localization project (which aims to assist in the translation of the Second Life Viewer)
  • Other items should be discussed in the talk page before adding them here.
